Well I'm now on CD16, so officially on the 2WW.

I think I'm about 2 DPO. I got a peak smiley on the Clearblue Advanced OPK on Wednesday (CD12), so I'm assuming ovulation happened about 24-36 hours after that.

I'm not going to obsess for the next 11 days. I have so much to do that will keep me occupied. I'm self-employed, so hoping I'll have a lot more work in the next few days as April is not looking good so far. Also, it's my birthday in a couple of weeks, so we're going out for lunch with my mum and DD3's godmother and her daughter on Saturday, which I'm really looking forward to. I haven't seen my friend since August as she moved to the other side of the country!

In between all that, we've bought new furniture for the children's bedrooms, so have to put that together at some point. That is looking like an impossible task at the moment, though, as DH is on a course 2 days next week and the children's bedrooms are in dire need of sorting out before we can put the new furniture in.

I also worked out today that I could possibly have either a Christmas baby or a New Year baby if we've been successful this month. This is due to the fact that I would most likely be offered a planned c-section, due to having big babies and previous birth complications. Due date would be around 8 January, but c-sections are normally done around 1-2 weeks early, meaning I'd have a Christmas or shortly after New Year baby

Anyway, I'm going to log off for now, get back to work and hopefully the next 11 days or so will fly by!
  • JoBatch, so sorry to hear your news. Virtual hugs to you and your OH, take care of each other.

Vodka and doughnuts to all with AF, and everything crossed for those in tww :) x

Two days until I can do a test, but I have started noticing the symptoms of AF's imminent arrival. Usually I get a stinking cold a few days before AF, which miraculously disappears when AF kicks in properly. I've been trying very hard to put it down to hay fever as I desperately hunt for Kleenex, but I have a horrible feeling it'll be a BFN this month.

On the plus side, it's been great throwing DH out of the hot tub in this holiday home, just in case ;) I'm allowing him ten minutes a day, then reclining and enjoying the hot tub without his gangly legs taking up all the room

ETA: This is not me knocking the education system at all (I'm a qualified teacher, and I'll defend my fellow educators to the hilt), but why did they spend all those sex ed lessons effectively telling us we only had to hold hands with a boy to get pregnant, when the reality appears to be that down the line when you're ready for a child, you can try every method in the book and it doesn't happen? :rotfl:

I feel this way too! Although I suppose by telling teens that it is difficult to get pregnant intentionally would probably encourage them to have unsafe sex because they think the chances are slim:rotfl:

This weekend everyone who has a child or a pet has annoyed me because I can't have either!

Can anyone advise please, i'm not totally up with all the lingo.

I've been using ovia to track my cycle after coming off the depo. Getting married soon and will be actvely TTC. I would like to use ovulation sticks to see if/when i am ovulating.

Whats the best ones to use and when do you use them?

    Thanks

    Hi everyone

New poster. We are TTC baby number 1.

Month one was not successful with AF appearing a day early on Saturday. We realised it was never going to really happen in our first month of trying but was still a disappointment.

Hope you all get your BFPs very very soon!

Pink spotting this morning, so looks like AF is here today. CD 36, which is a lot better than CD 46 last month! Finally getting back on track.

My baps have been sooo painful this month. It was so bad on Friday that it took me about 10 minutes to get my bra off, and then I had to sit around the house topless as I couldn't bear to put a t-shirt on!!

Edit: Literally as I was typing that the flow started. CD1 please!
  • Ah lulu, I understand the frustration :( Not going to sayanything blithe about kids, but pets will be in the hopefully not-too-distant future (I assume it's housing situation that means you can't at the moment?)

Staple28, I'm about to start on the cheapie opks that were linked to a few pages back - will let you know how they go!

Welcome to cats and MovingUp, hope you're not here long!

I'm completely foxed by my body. Having marked myself out, there was suddenly loads of ewcm yesterday - back to dry/creamy today though, with no pain and no temp change this morning. We only dtd Thursday and yesterday though, as we were in different places over the weekend - if I did suddenly ovulate, I can only hope that was enough to catch it

Cuilean, I agree - while not promoting unsafe sex at any age, I wish I'd known a lot more about the menstrual cycle (and common problems with it!) earlier - I'd have stopped taking the pill the day I walked down the aisle! :rotfl:

OH won't let me have a cat as he doesn't like them and he doesn't think we're at home enough for a dog.
