Aaaarghh. Caved in and tested early. Bfn. Was considering a glass of wine so thought I'd test just in case. AF due this week then on to cycle 3. Hoping it won't take the 3 years that my little girl took to make her appearance!!

Was a bit disappointed as if had the same sicky feeling that I had when pg.

    Never mind! Onwards and upwards.

Might have that glass of wine now!

Can I please be updated to CD3.

AF arrived right on time on Saturday.

I got a little disheartened until I thought about it more logically and realised that although DD1 and DD3 were quick (1st month TTC for both), it took us four months to conceive DD2.

Also, I think I'm not meant to conceive until the Chinese gender prediction charts say it will be a girl, and so far it's said boy :D. It was right with the first 3, who knows?

Of course, I'm only kidding - I don't mind either way. A healthy baby is all I want.

Welcome newbies and commiserations to those getting bfn/AF.

Hope all had a good easter weekend. First day back to work for me after a week off so feeling suitably miserable! I didn't ovulate over the easter break though as Ovia predicted I would. Now on cd17 and haven't had anything other than a low on the advanced cbfm. Should I be worried?!

I'm going for 5 for my April BFP prediction please, Kellykins. The weather is improving, and I'm hoping that'll make people happier/more positive about BD ;)

Today is CD7 for me. I've advised DH that we'll be doing SMEP this month, therefore tomorrow is the first BD day of SMEP. It seems very early to be BDing, but if it works, I'll give it a go. The Fertility Monitor taught me last month that I ovulate around CD11, so maybe BD on CD8 is not as daft as it seems.

Hbex, how does the Advanced CBFM work? I have the old style one where you put the stick into the machine and the display shows your CD and colours in part of a bar graph to show if you're low, high or peak.

At the risk of sounding completely naïve about the whole thing, at what point should I consider involving the GP if the TTC naturally thing isn't working? I'm aware that at the ripe old age of 35, I am slightly older than the average TTC'er, but DH managed to panic me slightly about it last night when he contemplated involving the GP. It's only been three cycles!

Welcome to all the newbies, I recognise a couple of you from other parts of MSE.

Cuilean, the advanced works the same - poas that you then insert in. Measures two hormone levels and then works out low, high or peak. As its my first month of using it it's made me test everyday since cd6! Bored now!

I think for 35 and over the Dr will consider you after ttc for 6 months. It's 12 months for under 35. But I'm sure you'll get your bfp before 6 months. Good luck with smep. I might give it a go in a month or two if no luck. If I ovulate that is...!

Afternoon all, hope everyone had a nice long weekend :)

I'm not quite sure what's going on this month, I had a positive OPK on Friday, but my temp didn't rise until this morning . I've had a slow rise after OV before, but never so long. I think I'll split the difference and call Sunday as OV day, so can I be updated to CD20 2dpo please Kellykins. Hopefully we've done enough, though neither of us could face BDing again last night, we've clocked up 6 times in 7 days

  • Cuilean, I involved the doctor after two months! Mostly because I'd only had one period in that time and suspected (now confirmed) PCOS. I went back after four months, having ovulated twice and miscarried once in that time, but was told they'd be unlikely to help for at least another year and possibly two. So now, having been trying for six months with only two ovulations, I've seen a private doctor for help.

So for me, it's never too early to get medics involved if you suspect issues. If everything appears normal, I agree with hbex that 6 months is probably the time to ask - even if you're told to try for another six months, at least you've started the conversation and can save time further down the line.

But hopefully that's not something you'll ever need to worry about, esp if SMEP works its magic!

Hbex, you might just be a later ovulator (if that's even a word!) - up to CD20 can happen in a normal 26-30 day cycle. Fingers crossed it comes soon!

Hello everyone, I've been reading under my other username but not got around to logging out and back in again to post here.

Welcome to any newcomers and good luck :)

I'm cd14 today and entered the fertile window yesterday according to ovia. We plan to DTD every other day if possible.

I'm still experiencing some anxiety about the whole ttc thing. I've had some abdominal pain this month which I associate with my endometriosis and had to take quite a few painkillers. I've had pain on and off since my last surgery but this month it has really reminded me that it is still active and made me even more worried about conceiving.

We went to a party over the weekend where we were the only couple without children. I'm not jealous or resentful (yet) as I know several of the couples have had a difficult time conceiving, but I did have to lie a few times about our plans for the future.

Even my mum has been chatting as if grandchildren are on the way and we haven't told her yet! I think she has guessed.

Things would just be so much easier if we got pregnant quickly!
