So good to see the good wildlife. My new neighbours at the side and the back have cats they live in my garden. I am SO fed up with it. One got a wetting from the hose and hasn't been back but the two others are here all the time. They spoil plants by lying on them and of course cat pooh is everywhere. Is there anything non-harming I can do?Keep reading books!

I've been to both plots today, mostly to have a good water, but I left one today with a carrier bag full of broad beans and potatoes! :j :j
One of the long time allotmenters saw me rooting around in the potatoes and we were just chatting, as you do, and he said that my potatoes looked really good and was even more surprised when he saw the size of some of them! I've a couple that are the size of my fist :j :j
The leeks are coming home with me tomorrow. They'll be making space for beetroot and carrots. The onions and garlic will be ready in a couple of weeks, although I'm already disappointed in the garlic as the stems are matchstick thin and it looks like the cloves haven't seperated
I need to get thinking on what I'm going to plant there next - need to start going through the seed boxI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Now winemaking is definitely on my list (but probably one hobby too far)
Planted Oca today in place of the old broccoli and generally weeded & cut things back. Poor old toad died sometime yesterday
In terms of cats - i use short canes planted around all the inviting areas, also seems to work for pigeons
Why am I in this handcart and where are we going ?0 -
I didn't wee on the plants today, didn't yesterday either! Today each meal has contained something from the garden - strawberries, salad stuff, broad beans and parsley.
Idiot alert again - I have 92 celery plants. Have put a paddling pool into use as a temp veg patch.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
