First (maybe second) frost in this area tonight.
Parsnips not so good, sprouting broccoli looking OK, deep trenched leeks very long. still to do the fruit tree pruning.
Has been a good 2015 overall, better than average, though sometimes a little wet to garden

    Happy New Year to all

Did quite well for Christmas meal even thought we had it on the Sunday after Christmas Day due to DH not feeling too well and having quite a lot of livestock to look after with no one to help so thought it best not too push it.

Managed salad for the starter, sage onion and chestnuts (they were really small) for the stuffing, carrots, leeks, parsnips and potatoes for the main meal plus home grown turkey. Made some liqueur chocolates using home made sloe gin, blackcurrant/gin, rosehip/yodka. so quite pleased.

Going to aim for sprouts next year - quite envious of Queen of cheap picking her own.:) I never seem to get it right. Still got plenty of things on the plot and in the tunnel, not to mention the freezer so shopping is a no no this month.

Still have some clearing up to do from last year :( but the next big job is to pot up some strawberries and bring them into the tunnel. Done all my ordering just waiting for the potatoes to arrive.

Happy New Year to you all.

I also managed to use some stuff from the garden over Christmas - parsnip (the one and only), carrots, leeks and parsley. Today I will use some garlic I've got stored in a pasta dish.
Spend less now, work less later.
