oo thanks for ikea link saverupper we have builders coming in (probs not till may as they're very busy) and one of the things they'll be doing is fixing dd2's room. She moves back home August and wants a fitted wardrobe. Am now on the PAX wardrobe planner
by xmas 2015 I want the house decluttered and kitchen, hall, loo, landing, outhouse, office, garden and the 2 worse bedrooms done (various states of completion at the mo, e.g. kitchen cabinets replaced 5 years ago, never got round to getting ceiling and walls fixed d'oh). by xmas 2016 i want the rest of the house (2 public rooms and the other 3 bedrooms) done

Today I plan to attack the cupboard of doom. We have an under the stairs cupboard which back in the day would have been a pantry, it's now where we put EVERYTHING including DS2's playdoh addiction. In a recent decluttering session we managed to claim back 2 plastic storage boxes. I think I may have a use for them. I hope I make it out the other side!Overdraft: [STRIKE]£529[/STRIKE] £199 BC: [STRIKE]£697.82[/STRIKE] £1974.02 MBNA: [STRIKE]£1874[/STRIKE] £517.00

Took those 2 Ik*a bags full of stuff to the CS so they're out of the way. DH sulking really as he saw a few of the things I'm getting rid of and he doesn't like it; he hasn't bought into the whole decluttering concept I have to say but there you go. Nothing in there is his so he can't grumble.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0

I've got a shed like that, cupcake-queen
. OH and I have 'his and hers' sheds:rotfl:. Both are crammed full of goodness knows what but mine is just my own clutter.
The stuff at the front that I can get to gets sorted on a fairly regular basis, with lots sold/donated etc but then sadly replaced with more stuff from elsewhere in the house:(.
To get inside the shed to sort out what's been crammed in there at the back (and to the roof) for years I need to drag so much out so I can get myself in there. That shed is like the Tardis, goodness knows how it holds so much. I hate doing it so much (out of sight and out of mind and all that) that I keep putting it off until weather conditions are/are likely to remain perfect. Any threat of rain, high winds, snow etc and I don't even start as cramming everything back in a hurry is a nightmare. Plus, I have to pile it up on the grass when I get stuff out and it's always damp and I don't want to risk the bottoms of my cardboard boxes getting wet. What a wally am I !
You can see why I keep putting it off, can't you? I'm so embarrassed at putting the job off over and over again. There might be saleable stuff buried in there that I can't even remember and heaven knows, I need the cash. There must be something wrong with me:o:o:o0 -
91. End of a tin of lip balm binned, I've had it ages and need a fresh one.
92. Conditioner used up as shaving stuff for my legs. I always end up with lots of the ends of hair conditioner as I swap them about.:p
93. Two lemons used up to make tea.
94. Little sample of toothpaste used up and binned.
95. Recycling out, I have to empty our box at least twice a day with the amount of flyers and menus we get. I should get one of those signs to put next to the letterbox.HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

I can’t believe it’s been over a week since I last posted!..
My absence from here has been through spending too much time catching up on posts – which I love as it inspires me – and trying to do some decluttering
A bit like saver-upper, I have stuff everywhere but unlike her I don’t have the excuse of decorating, I just have far, far too much stuff. I’ve been going through everything and trying to apply the principle ‘do I use it?’ ‘do I like it?’ ‘does it mean anything to me?’. If it passes any of the above it than has to go through the further thoughts, ‘can I pack it now?’ and ‘am I prepared to pay for its shipment to the UK when the time comes?’. So lots of decisions to make which I find very tiring since my breakdown, (even though that was 10 years ago). Progress is very slow but there is progress.
The tidying bit is a bit unpredictable though. At 11:30 pm the other night I decided to move the furniture round!! I’ve decided to get rid of some of the larger bits of furniture if I can, but as everywhere is so untidy I can’t invite anyone to view the pieces. However if I get the pieces to the lounge, people can enter by the French window and all the pieces will be together. Well that’s the theory. I’m hoping to sell/get rid of a 3-seater settee with matching arm chair and large footstool, a 2-seater settee and a 6-10 person expanding dining table oh, and a 2 yard wide by 2 yard high display and storage unit, for starters, so a lot of moving was involved. The poor cats are so upset by all the goings on.
On the positive side quite a lot is going out the door too. I’ve more than refilled my 30 litre box with magazines and leaflets for recycling and that’s after disposing 3 times that amount a couple of weeks ago, the small glass recycling bucket is full – all those ‘I’m sure I’ll find a use for that jars’, and the lids put into their recycling pile.
Another 2 binbags have been filled with clothing for the recycling bin. Some was my clothing but the majority was clothing I was given (and took), because I thought I could use it to make something else. I barely have the time to do the basics so it’s all going somewhere where it can make a difference.
Still aiming to keep on top of the junk that comes into the house – leaflets read within a couple of hour and either filed or recycled, plastic bags folded and stored ready to pass onto a friend who uses them etc. etc. So while it feels to me that I’m not getting anywhere, when I really look, I realise that there are spaces arriving and the boxes have only things I want in them rather than just a pile of stuff I may or may not want. So overall there is a improvement and I just need to keep going.Aiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget
