Unwanted knitting kit from magazine given to friend.
games not being played to CS.
Old storage bags, files and odds and ends given to CS. I forget what was in the bag as I fill it as I go along. Every time I notice something we might not need it gets dropped in the bag, then I try and give away the bag every week or two.
Borrowed items returned along with things I didn't want but they might!

I've been decluttering slowly here and and there, but February will have to see a big improvement as we're getting the house ready to maybe put on the market this year so there's not better excuse really.

    12. Bag of old clothes and toys (to be taken to the charity shop tomorrow).
    13. Play kitchen and accessories (waiting to see if a friend wants it, will then advertise at work if not). I am very pleased this is going as it take a lot of room.

    Rampant Recycler Debt-free and Proud!
    Hiya everyone

Please don't get discouraged those finding it hard - remember how long it's taken to accumulate all these things and so you can't expect to get it all sorted overnight. Little and often. Set some targets that are realistic such as one drawer/shelf this week and when that's done set another. You will find that once you get started you will probably do two drawers/shelves as you are in the mood ;)

Had a weekend off the declutter - apart from taking all the recycling out of the house and to the site and a small heap of things waiting to be read/filed/thrown that had gathered on the sofa :)

Want to get on with it again Tuesday as I am at work the morrow

Hope you all have a marvellous Monday

I've had a very productive day.Bits of the house look ok.The rest of it still looks very .

OH went to his parent's house for the day, with our kids.I caught up on lots of things I need to do.I often have this dream of spending a whole day decluttering, but then by the time I have done tidying, cleaning, vacuuming, washing, washing, hanging washing, folding washing, putting away washing,a few more loads of washing, there isn't alot of time left.

What I have done today,is almost single-handedly assembled one of these:
    http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10307491/

Except for the last 2 sides,I did it all by myself. It took nearly 3 hours (not something I could have done with the rest of the family home: no room in the house, for a start :D),but now our eldest has all her storage in her new room,so was unable to free up about 5 boxes of books, toiletries, and just "stuff".(In 20 years time she will be coming to MSE and joining the "No more buying toiletries until I have used the ones I've got, estimated to be sometime in 2087" thread) :rotfl:

So,that is her room basically done :j.In the next couple of days I will move the 8- and 6-yo's things into their room (at the moment they have their bunk-beds,chests of drawers, and not much else.)When I have moved in their stuff from the 3rd bedroom, and sorted some more stuff for charity,we will be able to decorate it,hooray!!

Today I also made floor space in the front room,so OH and I can move in a mattress to sleep on.The front room is filled with plastic boxes of everyone's belongings, piles of Christmas presents, and £%00dy clothes. For now it I have moved some of it into the 3rd bedroom, other boxes I have made into taller mountains to free up the floor space icon_rolleyes.gif.

So nothing specifically decluttered today, though I am going to add "1" to my running total,to represent all the many many bags of rubbish that has left the house since 27th Dec:bits of broken toys, papers, and just general bits of carp-real rubbish, not stuff that has been donated/recycled;it must be the equivalent of about 6 large rubbish bags since we started (27th Dec),but since I have just finished the first room, will add a "representative 1" ,so 173 bits of "stuff" gone :T.
