Sort the bedding and managed to get rid of 4 sets - why have I got so many sets of bedding??? They will go to rag man as too faded for Cs.
Now all bedding where it should be.
3 shelves of airing cupboard done - towels all sorted - 'hair dye' ones gone to rubbish as would be sooooo embarrassed if anyone saw them !!!

Started handbags and purses - started with 'evening bags' & purses - some for rag man and rest for Cs. Out 8 keep 4 - So proud of myself cos really do love my bags!!

Suddenly feel like I cansee the light in the bedroom - until I remeber need to get Dh onboard- he's worse than me for his clothes etc.
    Wish me luck

    Xx

8 items of make up plus an elderly makeup bag binned.
    a cardi recycled
a bundle of 'dusters' (ex t-shirts) sogged up as the freezer defrosted
3 freezer boxes binned (along with the contents) in the 'great freezer failure'.
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • Haven't actually declutter too many items today, but did a few jobs that made the house look a bit tidier.Have spent about 2 hours tonight trying to work out how to upload photos to Facebook selling pages .

I did sit with 8- and 6-yo DDs for about 45 min sorting through books to keep and those to donate.I think there is going to be far too many keeps icon_rolleyes.gif,especially since they are leaving the large(floor to ceiling) bookcase in their old room and at the moment don't actually have a book-case at all in their new room.

I set aside a craft set, hardly used but with bits missing,to donate to the school's nursery when school goes back. Will count it when leaves the house.

Started to sort through a clutter of papers on kitchen bench. Not enough papers gone to count as anything, though.I think I am going to start reading notes from school and put some out for recycling before they even come into the house-with 3 of my kids at the same school,I get alot of duplicates, and some are just not relevant to me.Yet they come into my home, make themselves comfortable on my sufaces, and never seem to leave :rotfl:.

    482-483 activity books,recycled

Well done everyone, we're doing great :T

Over the last few days I've decluttered

2x sports drinking bottles - binned. So well used that we no longer wanted to drink from them.
    15x very old magazines RC
4 opened packets of OOD pulses- food RC
2x packets of OOD gelatine - bin
Large packet of Chinese dried mushrooms OOD - food RC

I'm being quite liberal with my best before dates - depending on the item obviously - but 2011, the date on several things today, is stretching things a wee bit

I'm flitting back and forth between a huge pile of old magazines and the dried food cupboard. So I expect much of the same over the next few days. DH had just hoovered inside the cupboard for me (its carpet!) so at least it'll be a lot cleaner in there when everything goes back.

Is anyone else finding this decluttering is addictive ?? :D

Me too :) The sense of achievement is great. And for some reason this feels fun in a a way that house work never has. I'd like to see the results a little quicker, but I'm so impressed I'm still plodding on. I should have decluttered over 200 items by the weekend, which is amazing :j

    Here's to a tidy Tuesday :D

A pretty evening purse on a chain - too wide to fit under clothing, not secure enough to wear over a jacket/coat. - Charity pile

A pretty blouse - one of those that look like a tank top over a sheer blouse. Pretty on the hanger, but gapes at the back of the collar giving an odd hunchback appearance - Rag bag

A pair of trousers - too tight. I am on a mission to lose weight, but can always get something that fits me later - Charity pile.

A book about quilting - too advanced for me. Can't even thread my sewing machine yet, so it can go to someone who knows about these things.

    Yup. Addictive.

ETA : A lever arch folder after shredding the nine year old contents :D
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...
