    Charly, lovely quilt.

When I made something similar, I used a fleece blanket for backing. As well as being cheaper than buying fabric, this also meant there was no need for wadding! And it was very.very snuggly!

Finally got one of the present pieces framed that I'd done. I end up framing it myself as what the framers quoted was just too expensive for these as gifts. One is for a teaching friends birthday the other is for a retirement present in the summer
I'm pleased with how the framing has turned out. It's amazing what you can learn off YouTube and the Internet tutorials.

Not sure if this will work, my first attempt at making macaroons and also following a recipe found on pintrest, I was inspired to make them after reading a trisha Ashley book with a shop called the happy macaroon in it.

https://www.flickr.com/photos/108672314@N02/17502133504/in/dateposted-public/ Made this as a little experiment with some oddments, it's basically 12 crocheted daisies with holes in the stem that you can that daisy Chain style to make a garland for your hair. My dd3 thought they'd be lovely for flower girls. I'm hoping to get sone more made for the school summer fete.

Not keen on macaroons, but those look very tasty - I'd even try one!

The daisy chains are really cute.

Keep up the good work mrs-m.

I'd love to stitch this for a teaching friend taking a career break. It's gorgeous and so poignant. Where did you get the chart or kit Mrs MP?

I love both the macaroons and the daisy chain Mrs MP. Thanks for ideas about backing my quilt. The top is now all stitched together and I've used a cheap Wilko fleece in cream as wadding (already had that!) and I've ordered a couple of metres of tartan fleece for the back. It's red with a wide blue check which I think will really contrast with the top as it's so faded blue and sludge! It was £8 a metre so it'll be £16 to back but I have some baby blue needlecord I'm going to bind it with so can't wait and don't feel like have spent too much. ALL from stash bar that!
