Hi guys.
Have skim read (sorry), hope everyone is intact after the storms. Hugs to those that need them.
I have changed my energy tariff to the super low one (ish) with the Co-op, I was already with them so changing was just a case of doing a meter reading for each.
I have found 25p roadkill but gave 20p to DS as he saw it at the same time and it was his birthday that day.
I have paid an extra £9.50 to the CC. Petrol and food budgets are still well within.
Homemade pizza last night and homemade curry tonight so no spends on takeaways - not that we buy them often anyway.
Have a good Saturday evening all.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

I am really sorry to hear that your work hasn't been going well but I am quite glad as my work on Wednesday was an absolute disaster and my confidence is completely shattered.
Then on Friday, a relative of someone at my work spoke to me and I said that I couldn't say anything (breach of confidentiality) to which she replied that she was extremely offended and stormed off raging. I wasn't in work and I cannot discuss anything outside of the workplace at risk of getting disciplined.
As a result, I have been very miserable, upset and wondering just what I am doing this all for.
Why don't I just get a normal job where nobody expects much from me and I don't have so much responsibility and where the consequences of my actions are not so drastic.
Stewby the Service is stretched to the limit and there is an awful lot of pressure, demand and responsibility on staff All the time.. You shouldnt feel bad about your conversation on Friday, you were being professional in maintaining confidentiality about someone else. The person you spoke to should never have put you in that position in the first place and storming off in a rage says more about them than it says about you!
Keep your chin up lass, a good nights sleep to beat those bugs will do you good and hopefully you'll feel better in the morning.. This line of work is full of ups and downs.. keep smiling and remember why you chose this vocation in the first place.. things will get betterNinja Saving Turtle

Bobarella - It is amazing the difference a week can make when it comes to pay, especially when it is not your decision! Did your OH's company give any notice about plans to change the pay dates? Hope you get all your direct debits moved over smoothly and can[/QUOTE]
Hiya Loveadove
We did have some notice but there just wasn't anywhere else to cut back on to change the situation. We will be ok it's not like we can't afford to eat but it's more just the annoyance of having worked so hard to kill our OD and living mega frugally then having the extra week added on will throw us out again. Sometimes you feel you can't win no matter what you do.
On a more positive note having seen the roadkill challenge that is one thing I'm good at! I started counting it at the tail end of 2014 and found just under £9 in 2 months. So far this month I have found 62p. Today I found 22p. There seems to always be pennies around. Last month I found 3 £1 coins. So it is worth looking.

Hugs to everyone that needs one.
Spendy day but a good one. A third of the way through the month and have today parted with 5 whole pounds, nearly a third of my budget.
I went on a bus! I went on a bus twice! £1 each way. First time since my op and even lifts in cars have been tiring me out.
Went to the other house for the viewing (lovely couple with a toddler and a baby on the way) and while I was there I checked the tiles (seem to be okay - one slightly out of place but no worse than it was), picked things up and filled the bin. Spent a few minutes sawing in the shed to break something into chunks.
Think someone has been using the shed - couple of cans and a bottle, some cig papers (fairly sure I swept up all the smoker rubbish - it's where Ds2 and the other smokers went when it was raining) and some foam on the floor when I left it propped up against the wall. Not very bothered as long as no damage - if it's a rough sleeper I would rather they had the shelter of the shed in bad weather. Bottle was WkayD though, so may be kids messing about. Have put the empty bins down the side of the house - still accessible if it's someone who needs the shelter but should deter partying kids.
Bin at the edge of the drive as the bin men emptied it last time - shouldn't be out on the pavement before bin day but don't want to make a special trip (not at £2 a time).
Decided to get the bus back (really thought I would need the taxi) and went to the pound emporium when I got off and spent £3 on things that are bad for me. I was ravenous. Resisted the lure of the pie shops and diet cola and made a sandwich as soon as I got in and made do with a 2l bottle of fizzy water (it's not going to last till Easter now).
Don't know if it counts as roadkill or if it just means I am somewhere between a womble and Stig of the Dump, but I scored a custard tart (approximate value 25p). Left pound emporium headed for traffic lights and home and there was a custard tart (still in wrapping) outside an empty shop, on the little box that works the security screen so just the right (pocket) height. No-one within 10' of it. Someone must have bought a pack of 2 then either couldn't be bothered to take the other one home or put it down and forgot it. If I had had any energy left I would have gone back the other way and given it to the homeless person.
Came home, ate sandwich, two packs of crisp, tart and choc type thing with nuts and caramel - I did stop before the choc to check if I was still hungry and decided I was (all that physical activity). Have put the spares in a drawer on top of the wardrobe - will have to ask DS3 to reach them down if I want one or get well enough to climb up to it. Had been out for nearly three hours, mostly standing with some proper work.
Today I am grateful for healing, free food and chocolate. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Hi everyone
Roadkill I'm useless at, I used to find quite a bit but I haven't seen any for weeks/months!! So in my small bedroom I have found 7p in 1p pieces that sil left on the bedside table, so I'm going to claim that to start me off!!!!!Lol
Sfd today, dd3 treated me to tea whilst out in the park with the kids, and very welcome it was as it was blowing a Gale.
Sorry to hear about work stresses, I can really symphasize as I walked out of my job 5 years ago after years of feeling inadequate and expected to work for nothing until all the work was done without any help, and I felt a loyalty to them - how stupid was I? Now I work part time in a much lower paid job but I'm much happier, having said that I thought I was happy in the job for most of the time I was there it was only towards the end my feelings changed. Anyway, if you love your jobs stick with it, ride it out things will get better and you know in your heart of hearts you did the right thing, confidentiality is confidential if that makes sense.
Off to bed as I have to work tomorrow on the early 6am shift.

Rightio... have tried to get my head straight regarding the money side of things...
On Monday, it was a spend-free day.
Tuesday was a spend-free day.
Wednesday was a cheap chinese. (the new one is doing a happy meal for £8 each which is a starter and main course). This worked out well as we had enough for two meals. I received £10 off my boss on the Tuesday as I didn't attend the Xmas party so basically two nights worth of take away cost us £6 in total.
Thursday (as documented) was a spendy day as I paid for a lovely meal out with a colleague.
Friday was a spendy day as we went shopping.
Saturday is a spend-free day as I am going nowhere!!
:undecided
I apologise for my earlier post. I love my job dearly but sometimes I feel like it doesn't matter how hard I try, I am just not good enough. And people deserve workers who are good enough.
Recent issues have arisen where OH has now told me that if the loan increase his payments (as they said they would), he will no longer be able to afford them. This would mean his contribution to the house would have to stop which means my debt repayments would effectively be halved.
I am hoping that other people get this feeling of just wanting the debt to go away so that it never happened. I don't even have anything to show for this debt. Nothing that I can look at and go... "well that was worth it".
Please tell me that other people feel like this sometimes??
Anyways... thats hopefully a better update on here. Sorry for my little blurt earlier. Thanks for the replies.

I feel like that a lot stewby. Every time I think I can pay extra to make it go, something turns up. But that's a good thing as we are no longer comfortable with debt. Try not to put pressure on yourself, you cannot do anything about the loan situation. Just keep up with what your doing.
