They have electronic access to the DVLA database of registered keepers.

Please don't ask how 'right' this is - it is as it is - and the DVLA earn millions of £s every year from it at £2.50 a pop from the PPCs. We've argued the case to death ad nauseam, and for ever, but it's still there!

It's like shelling peas for both sides of that arrangement. We've just got to beat the system once the NtK arrives, so it's patience (no contact yet with the PPC) ...... and getting a better understanding about what all this stuff is about (via the NEWBIES FAQ sticky), then, as they say, the job's a good un!

  • Thank you so much both of you! I'll wait with baited breath for the postman to deliver the next instalment and won't contact the PPC, which I have to admit I was going to do (via their appeals link) before I decided to check out MSE.

I'll be in touch once I receive the next 'payment request'!!

Great advice tonight, thanks again. I'm certainly taking all the advice given. Fingers crossed it all works out and the £30 doesn't end up £60 (that's the pessimist in me!)

    Cheers

Just though I'd help make more sense of your last post! :)

By the way the NtK shouldn't arrive until at least day 29 after the parking event and by day 56 at the latest.

  • Umkomaas that has made me laugh! I'm off to bed minus the stress now :) I know it's only £30 but it's the principle.

Happy new year to you and marktheshark

    Happy to help :).

Keep in touch if you feel anything is getting 'tricky', but you're not dealing with the 'Brains of Britain' in PPC world here!

Oh heck I'll be in touch with anything that crops up for you to keep me right!
  • A wee bit more info guys and I'm wondering if it will make any difference to advice given and the procedure to take.
One of these notices has already been issued to one of the family at the same address from the same car park. Different car. This was paid within 14 days as we knew no different then. (I didn't know about it hence why I didn't mention it previously)

    Does this alter anything?

    Thanks
