Who's signing up for a "Dry January"?

I'm in! I did it last January and my husband and kids were gobsmacked - yeah thanks a lot guys 😊
A good alt for me is a J2O - I quite like vodka and raspberry J2O so I just pretend plus it can be very similar to fruity ciders. January is going to be a very healthy month for me.0 -
I would say I'm in, but being 6 months pregnant I'm technically dry already

Lemonade with a splash of cordial, e.g. Black currant, lime etc.I'm in
I've started early, no drinking on NYE for me.
Any suggestions for alcohol free alternatives that are more interesting than diet coke? I've got a few birthdays coming up (including my own) so still want to go out.
Good luck everyone!0 -
Good luck to those that need it

Not joining in because 1) I only have an occasional drink and go months without having one so can't see the point really and 2) I have something arranged for late January where I will enjoy a couple of glasses. Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
Yeah I'm all over this!! Being in a football team on Saturdays and Sundays won't help but I am manipulating as many of them as I can do!! muhahahaIt's always darkest before the dawn.

I don't drink through personal choice, I don't like it.
Instead I drink J2O, the glitterberry one is good at this time of year. Lemonde, green label diet coke. Schloer is nice. For fizz with a difference, I have pink lemonade.
My only annoyance about not drinking is the cost of soft drinks when I'm out.Proud to be dealing with my debts
DD Katie born April 2007!
3 years 9 months and proud of it

I'm in.I did it last year and managed.even gave chocolate up in February (shortest month not totally bonkers) and biscuits up in March.then faltered the next .I don't smoke so I suppose I could have given S*X up for April!Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.0

Thanks for the suggestions for alternative drinks!
I think I'll stock up on few different things next time I'm in the supermarket and see what I like. The non alcoholic Radler lager type things are OK, I bought some from B&M for 99p for four bottles, they're ok but don't taste like lager!
In the pub I think I'll try the odd J2O, fruit juices or lemonade and cordial.
In regards to the differing opinions on alcohol, I found I'd been drinking far too much and have tried to cut down the last few months. For me, it was partly social (going to the pub with friends a lot) and partly because I have been depressed and my anxiety is worse in social situations. That and I really like beer!0 -
Waitrose do a very nice non alcoholic cider. Other alternatives are tge Green bottle cordials with fizzy water. They do pomegranate & elderflower, and lime and coconut. A squeeze of fresh line juice in sparkling mineral water is nice too.
I read in today's paper that most people who sign up to the challenge fail by the 17th day. I shall be aiming to beat that!0 -
You could make your own non alcoholic cocktails at home, sure there will be plenty of recipes on the internet. Tesco also do a range of cordials. I tried sainsburys low alcohol cider ages ago and hated it and I also don't like non alcoholic cider, koppaberg. Tastes like its full of sweetner. Becks blue is ok, although it has a tiny amount of alcohol in, 0.05 per cent.
I make my own smoothies at home as well.0
