My best buy this Christmas was a present to myself. I'm starting a business as a dog walker and home boarder/sitter, as well as have just been fostering some homeless doggies - but want to understand canine behaviour more so I can help dogs, so wanted to do a course, but with a price tag of £389 for the cheaper end I've never had the money to do it. Luckily the British College of Canine Behaviour course appeared in a rescue's charity auction, and I managed to win it for £160 :j saving myself £229!! AND the money I gave helps even more homeless dogs or saving doggies on death row :T:T WIN WIN!

My Xmas bargain was to make use of the countless discount codes and Amex promos which came up in Dec - £5 off spending £10 at Amazon with a MasterCard (2x), £5 back on £15 at Primarni, £25 back on £50 spend at Argos, total of £40 free stuff I would've bought anyway.

Add to that £5 back on shop small (at a local boozer for Xmas drinks :D) and £15 back on petrol (£10 on £50 Esso, £5 on £50 BP) it was a fairly profitable month, relative to the effort involved!

Also, OT, but discovered I could reclaim the tax on my professional fees, backdated to when my employer stopped paying them, a lump sum repaid in my December pay!

Went to Boots today and bought 4 sanctuary items half price in the sales for birthday / Christmas presents next year. Then went to Clintons and bought half price cards and wrapping paper. Also spent last night cutting up some of this years Christmas cards into tags for next year. (I always go out shopping after Christmas, in the sales, to buy present for the coming year

Went to Virgin and they helped me to activate my new sim card - saving £22 a month on my mobile phone bill.

I bought a dining room table from M&S originally £500, reduced by £100 in a sale, then my wife and I switched accounts to M&S and got £125 gift vouchers each. Making the final bill only £150 for a nice new dining room table!!! :D.

Not cheap, but got a Kitchenaid Artisan from House of Fraser for £299, bargain for what they are usually at.

I managed to pick up a take and play character for 4p from Tesco after seeing the deal on one of the forums. My little boy was thrilled.

I'm a newbie so haven't worked out how to upload a picture yet.

I got the James Bond Gold Signature Eau De Toilette 50ml Gift Set from Boots.com for £11.65 (it was £25 in the shop). The offer was save 60% on selected fragrance (-£5.01) and save 1/3 on selected fragrance gift sets (-£8.34).
