Hiya All
Fuddle - what a brilliant man you have there!! So useful to have craft-based person who can do the big things with wood which require more physical strength than i have!!
However, today have been MM&Ming today. I washed down my kitchen with sugar soap and have managed to paint half of it as well. I am hoping that, apart from some bits (like by the stove), I am going to get away with one coat. All the paint and brushes were 'free' as I bought them for doing up one of the houses year before last and I being even then MM&M had stored them properly so they are still v usable! :j
Also made (yesterday) a tuna pasta bake - using the last Tuna steak from the batch of fish I bought cheap in Iceland in Feb. Had the second part of this 2night as, after work I had to dash off to a meeting - therefore it was a quick zap in the microwave job! So that is 2 meals from the store cupboard/freezer! Tomorrow intend to eat up the last of the fish pie I made and froze - I need to finish the kitchen - I have a meeting from 10.30 - 12 then leave y place for a student at 12.30 and wont return til about 4.30 then have another meeting at 8pm til about 10.30!! Gonna be a bit busy and wont really have time to cook - so will have my own 'readymeal!' :rotfl:Aim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j
NSDs 2015:185/330 (allowing for hols etc)
LBM: started Jan 2012 - still learning!

Hello all.
I've been cutting my own hair for quite some time on and off. I started going to a hairdresser again when my income improved, but my hair is so straight and fine that a well-motivated hairdresser could have given it a maintenance trim in literally 1 minute.
Except they never did, they faffed it about for at least five minutes to make out they were worth the £12 they were charging me.
Does anyone else with fine, shortish hair split their pack of hair colour by mixing just half the developer and colour in a plastic bowl?
I must do mine this week, I have half a pack to use up from earlier this year. I use the Ald* colourants rather than the pound shop variety as they come in shades I like, the total quantity is 100 ml rather than 80ml and the smell doesn't knock you over.
I have used pound shop colourants in the past, then they changed the formulation, alas. Plus the colours tend to be a bit flat, or perhaps it's me.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -

One of my children is also dislexic the other has ASD and is very bright he goes to a ASD school but unfortunately they do not meet his academic potential . He has had someone into school and they have done a iq test on him and he is so high they have had to implement a specialist education program for him . That starts next week so we shall see how that goes .
Hubby's working funny hours this week (he cleans up after crime sceans) so is on call 2 weeks out of 4 but this week he's on 4-2 , so he's managing to get on with my summer house he's been building me for the last 6 mts lol .

Morning ladies
I've fallen off the MMM wagon for the last week (and have spent a lot, thankfully some already budgeted for) so need to get back on it this week.
Top of the list is to get some NSDs, I haven't had one all weekI've got leftovers from last night's tea to take to work later and OH will use up some bits in the fridge for his tea.
Right better go and get ready, I've got training this morning followed by a late shift so a fairly busy day.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

I've been using half a pack of colour for my roots for years as my hair is fine too - not tried Aldee, usually use the 'you're worth it' one - must take a lookSmall victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Good Morning chums , today I shall be baking as my DGD is dropping her car off tonight, she had someone run into the back of her last week so the repair folk have to pick it up tomorrow. She is working so cannot be around ,so it will be collected from my drive instead.
I shall make her some 'melting moments' biscuits as they are her favorites, and probably some rock cakes for her B/F.
I'm still trying to declutter my computer room,by golly its full of junk.Computers were supposed to reduce paperwork, but mine seems to have increased.I shall be ruthless though and its all got to go:)
fuddle what a smashing arbour and seat you have. I think I would happily buy something like that as well.Great way to recycle wood as well, he's made a great job of it and well deserves the praise from all of us.
I must get the sewing down today that I didn't get time to do yesterday,I have some movies on my TiVo box to watch so I may do both this afternoon.
have a great day chums what ever you are doing
Cheers JackieO xx0 -

P.S. candlelight and Janiceatkins Thank you for your kind donations for the race for Life0 -
Good morning
Fuddle, your arbour and table are stunning. He is very clever.
I am after some suggestions from the gardeners amongst you.
On Saturday evening I was in the garden and got bitten/stung/something. My legs up nearly to my thighs swelled up and the whole area is very very itchy. Had to visit the walk in doctors as my local pharmacist knows me and wouldn't give advice as I take so much medication....
Finally the question...... I wonder if anyone has a suggestion what might have caused this as I am now a bit nervous to go out there. Picture John Wayne getting off his horse!!
Thanks

Bigjenny thank you for your donation to the RFL
its very kind of you
Lots of baking done today and all the family have benefitted from my baking storm.DGS Henry & Mikey have had lots of melting moments and choc chip cookies and also DGD Holly who popped by to drop her car off(repair chap is picking it up from my house tomorrow.) She took some home for her B/F Toby as he is partial to HM biscuits and cookies (what chap isn't:) )
Going to have a stroll around the block in a minute as its a beautiful evening and the fresh air will do me good and then
tonight its going to be feet up and a bit of knitting while watching catch-up tv
Hope every one has had a good day
Cheers chums JackieO xxx0 -
Pauline - are you normally allergic to insect bites? bites on the legs could be caused by ants. midges etc tend to fly at upper body level and you can see them! best advice I can give is to wear trousers or leggings and cover your feet when out in garden.0
