Hello Folks,
And a welcome to Bluegreen; good luck with the move and the new baby.
Celtic, I feel for you; I've been in exactly the same position as you and it's scary. My only advice would be to keep in touch with your creditors and keep them informed of the situation, which I am sure you are doing; there is no advantage to anyone to push you under.
On a brighter note, if you think about it, it's happy occasions with family and friends which are your memories, not how much was spent, what you wore (although old photos sometimes make me wince when I look at what I then considered fashionable), but what a good time you had with the people you love.
It's raining here at the moment so I've no excuses not to exercise, do my rug quota, and some batch cooking And cross everything I've got that the part arrives for my DB's car so that he can come over tomorrow.
Have a good day, All.

I forgot to say, Lynn, it made me smile when you mentioned the hard up days living on pasta. I was in a similar position at one point; we used to have fried onions with pasta and then cheese when we were a little better off. But actually, it was quite a good thing because that's when I learnt to cook, forage and be clever with ingredients so that the food looked and tasted appetising. Happy Days!

I used to have half a dozen SHTF recipes when our dds were growing up.
Pea and ham soup (dried peas, carrots, potato, onion, stock cubes and scrap of bacon if really skint - ham hock and meat kept for ham and chips, flan etc if not so skint.
Home made stuffed mushroom and chips.
Stuffed home made pancakes with any savoury scraps and a little home made white sauce.
Home made bread or rolls with soup from any veg I had and stock cubes.
Homity pies - diced cooked potato and onion , a little garlic, grated cheese and milk - in a pastry case and baked.
Corned beef and potato and onions mixed together to make a filling for pasties.
Spanish omelette with lots of onion and veg, diced cooked potato, scraps of meat and a little garlic and cheese.
DH used to ask
"Elona - are we getting short of money?" When I asked "Why?"
he would say "because we are having more interesting meals"
(that was a compliment BTW;) )
Have just put ingredients for pizza dough in breadmaker as DD has friends coming to her house tonight and I agreed to part bake a tray of pizza wheels for them all. Just realised I have half a jar of dried tomatoes and mozzerella I can use up :j"This site is addictive!"

Achieved all I intended yesterday but the day was somewhat soured by the person who parked by ear into the back of my car :mad: Luckily DH has been able to Tcut most of the scrape out but my fog light lens was broken so I'm £48 lighter (from a breaker!). Good job I've a handy hubby otherwise it would have been a bigger bill!

Celtic fingers crossed for you that everything goes well with the business. Sounds like a stressful situation but hope you come out of it with your customers intact and bigger than ever.
Silvasava - that's rubbish about your car, glad your hubby was able to do a lot of the work himself. My brother in law used to be a mechanic so he's very handy at helping with basic to middling repairs. Just as well as our car is quite elderly!
We've finished packing so we're just waiting around to get the ok to collect the keys to the new house, then we're going to take some stuff up and check it out, I feel like a wee kid before Christmaswe're Moving the rest of our stuff tomorrow, bet I can't sleep tonight
Through no effort of my own, we're a couple of hundred quid up - I forgot rent was paid in advance, so I'd budgeted for it this month but just called our housing association and we're all paid up so I've cancelled the standing order.
Will definitely come in handy as it's family and friends moving us tomorrow, so we need to provide some juice/snacks/sandwiches (made by MIL but we'll obviously pay for ingredients) and a takeaway for ourselves tonight, as we'll have no cooker.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

I endorse that make sure the kettle and cuppa making things are at hand and the bed is made up, the rest, if your tired, can wait. You have the rest of your lives to settle in0
