Well today didn't go as planned went out for breakfast witch was yum!
It was raining really bad so I decided I'm going to give my bathroom and kitchen a cheap make over , I have one of those Crome bathroom caddy things that go from ceiling to bath pressure fit , but it had rusty so instead of buying a new one I got some matalic spray £4:99 saving me £20 ,
And some Teal sticky back plastic to cover my boiler and dishwasher as they look tired in my kitchen . So that's my plan for Tomoz revamp 2 rooms for little cost under £10 .
I then spent the rest of the day dealing with tax creadits for M&D they have a over payment from 3 years ago .
Now I'm having a bath and off to bed ......
I have dyslexia so I apologize for my spelling and grammar
  • Made bread today! Very proud of myself as its the first time I have ever made a loaf (without a bread maker) and it turned out super, very tasty. Not sure how much money its going to save me though, as it seems to have gone down so well with dh & dd's that I will probably be making a loaf most days!

My lovely fil cooked us dinner this evening, in exchange for me having spent an hour or two tidying up his garden last week.

That means I have managed to put off shopping until tomorrow, making today another NSD.

Shampood and groomed dogs today, saving £25 at groomers.

Washed dd1 school shirts and dried by hanging on curtain rails with Windows slightly open. Surprisingly, I am not missing the tumble drier at all... Yet!

Two shifts at work tomorrow, so not planning on having time for anything other than shopping and maybe a quick glass of dh's homemade ginger ale in the evening.
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

My advice would be to follow your heart.
I want to move house but there's a lack of houses I want to move to. I don't want a new house but I want something that at my time of life will be my forever home and that we can put our own personality into.
I was sent details of the perfect house on Wednesday evening. New to the market that day. I phoned the estate agent the very next morning. Its sold to a cash buyer.
I believe perhaps it wasnt meant to be.
If its for you it won't pass you by.

Could you contact the estate agent to show interest if the sale falls through. Always worth expressing your interest as sometimes sales don't go through smoothly. here`s hoping! xx

    Hiya All

V grateful for all of your input re moving - also like the notion that if its meant to be then it will happen. :A So I will give it a go and see if the fates are with me!!

In this spirit i have started on 'doing' my kitchen: so today I have sanded down where my son's friend took down the cupboards and put up my shelf - sorted the paint out of the shed (and found my tidy washed and neat brushes and rollers - I put these away - rather than my boys who tend to throw stuff 'tidy' :-) and went and bought sugar soap powder and rubber gloves. I was going to get the kitchen washed down but my son rang up with a lot to say (1 hr and 4 mins of it!!!!!!!! ) and so that did nt get done!! Hopefully if I really go for it tomorrow I might get it all done!?????

BTW grocery wise - I am on week 6 of my £5 per week plus my veg box (every fortnight @£10 therefore total per week - veg + groceries = £10) . :D The sugar soap +Gloves +scrubbies = £3.45 @ BnMs today so that leaves £1.55 until Friday LOL. Am determined to make the challenge and have made a big pasta bake which will also do tomorrow for tea and I have a pork chop; a smoked haddock fillet; a salmon filet; a portion of fish pie; frozen veg + a butternut squash + carrots + potatoes +onions!! Phew!! I have got oats and nuts and dried fruit to make own museli or porridge for breakfast; some YS bread rolls and pita breads for lunch. Have tins of beans of various varieties to make a mock hummus with as well as some cheese for a filling!! (am using grated carrots in place of the crunch of lettuce - also have 1/4 a cucumber!) Isnt amazing when you do an audit what you have that you can live on!! (that's not counting flour, yeast, rices pasta etc etc!! :p Must eat up my cupboards - especially if I decide to move LOL!! :rotfl:

jem132 - please dont apologise for your dyslexia - I too am slightly dyslexic and my son is VERY severe. We both have degrees and I am a qualified and working teacher (I work with children excluded from school - I really understand some of their frustrations many of them have learning difficulties of various sorts). Us dyslexics have to work twice as hard as other folks  and still get ill-informed comments and so rather foolish comments from others (such as 'how can you be a teacher if you are dyslexic?'). Let folks know you are dyslexic and ask for their understanding but you dont need to apologise - you have done nothing wrong :)- you cant help dyslexia!!! Good for you keep on posting !! :-)
Aim for Sept 17: 20/30 days to be NSDs  NSDs July 23/31 (aim 22) :j
NSDs 2015:185/330 (allowing for hols etc)
LBM: started Jan 2012 - still learning!
Life gives us only lessons and gifts - learn the lesson and it becomes a gift.' from the Bohdavista :j

vulpix - Glad your mum is a bit better, hope she continues to improve. Good luck for the move.
jem123 - All 3 of my children have dyslexia (slightly different in all of them) and they are all very successful. Being the lovely person that you are is all that matters.

silvasava I have PM'd you, thanks your for the donation its very kind of you xx
Today I shall be 'making' some celery soup to use up some bendy stuff in the fridge, this will help to extend my lunch a bit and therefore be 'making do' with what I have in the cupboard. As for mending I think I have a bit of hand-sewing to do on a pair of DGS school trousers so that will be my 'mending' all three done in one day :):):)
have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Make do and mend lunch today in the form of a lentil and vegetable stew using green beans and courgettes from the polytunnel and sweet potato, carrots and an onion I already had in along with herbs and spices from stock, smells lovely!

FUDDLE the arbour sounds delicious, how very clever and inventive to use pallet wood and still to have enough over for your table and stools, well done that man!!! I saw such a good idea with pallets the other day in of all places the playground for the day nursery. They had stood pallets up with the flat surface to the wall and the 'feet' of the pallet facing inwards and then used small flower pots to make a vertical garden by putting the pots in the space between the top of the pallet and the cross piece of the foot making a 3 tier hanging garden, looks amazing and would be such a good idea to use the sides of a small space effectively. The little ones had masses of running space surrounded by upright pallets, even could be used on a balcony I think, great idea! Thinking about it if the pallets only have a piece of wood at either end and in the middle, they might have attached the pieces of wood that run lengthwise from end to end of the pallet at the top middle and bottom to create the shelves to put the pots into.

Pallets are wonderfully versatile. I have seen pictures of them turned into so many wonderful things both aesthetically and practically.

I've got my pics up now if you'd like a look. :)

This is the table that DH has made a start on. We'll have to wait for a new sanding pad before we can progress.
