    Hiya All

Nice to see you back on here Jan B - sorry that next doors garden is a tip - I have the same problem and it makes my life harder as all the weeds spread over here and they wont do anything about their fences either!

Vulpix and Jackie O hope that your folks get better - it is such a worry!

Well, I m a bit frightened here. For years I have been wanting to move back to Cornwall. I think I may have found my little hobbit hole - the right size; near cafes/libraries/corner shop/arty-literature-theatre stuff going on near by. If I get what I think I should for mine - then moving would also wipe out all my debts (the other place is way cute but needs a bit of doing to). So go for it you might say. But I ve been here for 20 years. house is comfy. So much upheaval. Ho hum!! I want to and yet I dont - if I get this move wrong then I ll be truely up the junction!! :( I m all of a dither here!!

    Advice please folks???

My advice would be to follow your heart.
I want to move house but there's a lack of houses I want to move to. I don't want a new house but I want something that at my time of life will be my forever home and that we can put our own personality into.
I was sent details of the perfect house on Wednesday evening. New to the market that day. I phoned the estate agent the very next morning. Its sold to a cash buyer.
I believe perhaps it wasnt meant to be.
If its for you it won't pass you by.

Lyn, you have given some pretty good reasons why you should move, try writing down some reasons why you shouldn't. I would weigh them up and go with my heart anyway!!

In my kitchen I have the usual furniture plus a 3 seater couch, tv on tv table and a big clock! The living room ceiling is being replaced this week so we have the furniture everywhere! The conservatory is full too. This is the time I have to decide what I want. Saw some settees yesterday that will be just the job, need to get my timing right with the flooring, etc.

    Hello All,

It's just starting to rain here so my plans for an elegant outside lunch in the garden with friends is somewhat stymied!

I do hope everyone recovers well. And Jackie, please pm me as to how I am to contribute to your 'run'. Welcome to the new lady, (Pauline?). Daren't stop and look back in case internet goes off again!

If I might put my tuppence worth in Lynn. You said at the 'Meet' that it was your dream to live in Cornwall; go for it, girl. If you don't you'll always wonder and if it isn't for you, well, you will have paid off your debts and can still start again and maybe declutter at the same time, just as I did when I came back from running away to sea two and a half years ago and you'll have some more memories.

Someone mentioned making cleaning products - if they are ok, could we have the 'recipes', please?

Final time of asking, if anyone wants to come to a meet at my house on 10th July, please pm me this week or I shall assume there is no interest.

    Viv xx

It's good to see you posting again Jem. Lyn I believe the play you describe is termed heuristic play. Specialists in this field (a basket of natural, every day objects) used to come with a hefty price tag back the my day of Nursery Nursing but these days I think more and more providers are ditching the plastic gubbins in favour of natural items. I do hope so!

Speaking of natural items. The arbour is complete :D MMMers DH has done himself proud. It's a solid construction and is very pretty stained pale green. I have wrapped my camping solar fairy lights around the top and have hooks to hang my ikea tealight laterns when it's warm and dry. He has started on a table but we need a new sanding pad. We couldn't have done it without the sander because the pallet wood was splintered a great deal. With the stain, a few bits of wood for the top and the pale green stain, the whole thing has cost £23. The table and stools will be free as we'll use up what we have on those. I have pictures, I'll get them online soon to show you.

I'm off to see what I can make with frozen cherries as I have had to remove them from the freezer to get the shopping in. For my lunch I'm having fish finger sandwich and tea is chicken curry and rice.

Fuddle: the arbour sounds wonderful, give the DH a hug from me. What a clever chap. As for childrens playthings, there's nothing like having no money to make them inventive. I do remember a birthday party for DS1 when about a dozen small boys spent a whole afternoon playing with a puctured football. So much for children's entertainers and costly games. The boys all said it was the best party they had been to. And water-play was well known in my day for calming stressed or upset children. It all comes round again, albeit with fancier titles.

Lynplatinum: It's often said that at the end of your life you will only regret the things that you did NOT do.

    Back to the mayhem.

    Evening Everyone,

I haven't posted for quite a while but have been reading along every day. It was good to hear the meet went well.

I continue to make do, mend and minimise. My latest project was a birthday present for a friend. She is very into exercise and we go to Yoga and Pilates together so I made her a bag to carry her Yoga mat in. It can go over the shoulder or be carried like a suitcase and didn't cost me a penny as I had all the materials in my stash.

I now want to make one for myself. I had intended doing one for me first as a prototype but didn't have enough time but will put in a couple of modifications next time. I also made her a card but as it was a while ago I can't remember what it looks like! My Mother gave me a big box of old cards so I chopped them all up and had a card making session with some of them so have a neat pile of cards ready for the next couple of months.

Rose - your bag looks great! Did you do the motif as well? I need a new bag for my mat too as my old one was a £2.00 beach bag from A*da & its now falling apart. I looked at the ready made ones & thought I could easily make one from my stash so you've given me the incentive to crack on!
Have a good evening all x

Yes, I made a hanging for a friend with lots of little yoga people on it a few years ago so adopted the idea from that. It's just felt oversewn on to the bag and a couple of sequins for eyes.
