thefrugalflirter You Tube is great for just about anything you can make. I know of quite a few people who have learned to knit, crochet, and sew from there.
If you want cheap yarn to practice with most pound shops and discounters sell it cheap.0 -
This seems to be quite large at 2m x 3m but maybe it could be adapted for smaller ones, especially if you already have a frame.

Thanks bubblegum cola, that's really interesting, the man face was looking at building a cold frame from CDs so that would be right up his street :-)0

I learned to crochet from youtube and blogs after buying a crochet hook on a whim about a year ago. It has got me through some very stressful times just crocheting away and I just buy cheap yarn to make things like blankets. Making little things to start is great fun like figuring out how to do a granny square, making a flower. I found step by step instructions really helped me with lots of pictures!0 -
Cheerfullness, I got the same seeds, when I opened them I thought I had ordered 10 packs of carrot seeds
I need of new pillowcases and I like crisp cotton ones - well they are not in the budget so dug out a chunk of fabric Mum got me years ago which is perfect - turns out its Christian Dior fabric printed ready to cut into quilt covers and pillowcases so my well have some classy bed linen :rotfl: She worked in a bedding factory and bought remnants and slightly damaged quilt covers etc.Clearing the junk to travel light

We have two that we use to grow food but the covers have been ripped several times by the wind. The frames seem to be fine, they just clip together so I'd rather replace the covers than have to buy new greenhouses.
They do replacement covers in Wilko's - not much cheaper than a new one tbh. I have a large piece of thick plastic that a mattress was delivered in - if you could get something similar you could tape it into shape some how - not as easy as a cover with a zip though.

I love that idea of a bottle greenhouse. How clever! I just can't think how I could get that many bottles but where there's a will there's a way.
I have very little room in my tiny garden but down the side of the house is a sunny bit around 6 foot wide by about 23 foot. I've got to make the most of that little area. A little greenhouse would be perfect down there as there's a high wall behind for protection and my garden has sun most of the day.
I'm another that likes crisp cotton on the bed and I have some really gorgeous white cotton pillowcases bought from a car boot that I use on my under pillow and then pop on top to sleep on. I swap it back so the quilt matching one is showing on the bed during the day.
I shocked myself this morning when I got a little lift of excitement when I noticed one pillowcase had a seam open about 3 inch. I think I'm beginning to really look forward to my hand stitching repair sessions round the tv.MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250
