    hi
today was clearing out the clothes, some to the rag bag, charity shop and bin. Where appropriate zips, buttons and ribbons were removed and added to the sewing box first.
I also have my scruffs and wear an apron.

    regards
    :j
  • I'm another that can't wait to get my good clothes off and get in my comfies as soon as I walk in the door.
I was a kiddie in the 70's that changed as soon as I got in the door so maybe it is ingrained is us as said before.

Well my day hasn't been very 'make do and mend' today. Nothing achieved as had a whole day off with mum visiting. The a mission of mercy to help someone in a pickle meant we didn't get in until gone half 7 and I was too worn out to cook so we had the dreaded takeaway. I'm quite peeved I wasn't more prepared for the unexpected!

I hate this lappy. It is soo misbehaving. Just lost my last paragraph while taking my eyes off the screen.

Will drink my tea then try again.:p

Added my £3 to my purse this morning and here are todays grocery spends.

    Day 7

    Money Spent Today - £9.29 Vouchers Spent - £0
Money Spent in Total - £20.16 Vouchers Spent in Total - £5
Money left in purse - £0.84 - Float left- £0/£15
    Oct non-foods left- £11.65/£15

Well today I spent £9.29 of my purse money and the rest of my float on tonights shop. I got carried away with the YS's and now have enough pies/pasties/sausage rolls to do all this month and probably next. (like I need pastry with these hips!) Ah well. Posh chocolate cake, bagels, bread, a massive box of coleslaw from salad bar @ 25p, milk and 2x 300g of Nescafe coffee were also bought, the latter I'm really pleased about. Must have my morning coffee but I'm not exactly getting a healthy new start to the year!:o

I was having another think about my little veg garden I'm in the process of making and thought I want to it be a beautiful as I can so its a joy to walk in. After all, in my little back garden it will take up half the space just divided by a centre path.

This is such a simple idea but I love it. Saves wasting 10 minutes trying to explain to DS what the Rosemary looks like and still have him come back in with a handful of Thyme. :D

  • Forgot to mention yesterday. If you do shop at Morrisons and buy Nescafe watch your offers. I got 300g jars at £4 each but they also had a promo end of aisle display of 200g +50% extra (so 300g) for £4.89.
Both were on end displays but a few steps extra saved me 89p per jar!

    Oh and morning everyone. :D

  • cheerfulness4, I now live in Greece.....cheap rent, no council tax, no TV licence, low heating bills!
BUT, no supermarket deals and low income, so all relative.

However, live by the sea, which is great, as this equals long walks, which are free, lunch break in summer sat on beach, which is free, and ability to collect driftwood to burn to save on logs for heating.

Greeks are the most frugal of people, and recycle everything...and their attitude does rub off, as we find that we now waste virtually nothing!! :)

Frugalflirter love your blog, I had forgotten how to make the origami boxes but now have one sat next to me - thank you

Had a wee trip out yesterday to a rather basic garden centre as we are fed up with the 'posh places' I wanted a small amount of potting compost to get started and vermiculite - 99p a bag and more than enough for what I want. I have all the seeds I need for this years veggies and have promised myself they will all be used up before I buy any more - unless they are 5p a packet - as it would be rude to not buy them at that price :D

Hi all, really want to get out into the garden and tidy it up a bit, but with the forecast winds and rain I'm going to leave it for now.
May attempt to sort the filling out later as I need some bits to be able to fill in a form or two.

What does everyone use to clean their oven, especially the glass on the door. It's in desperate need of cleaning!

If you can work out how to remove the glass, you can put it in the Oven Pride bag with the other items.

I don't know about Oven Pride bags. Am I missing a trick? I find cleaning inside ovens a hateful job. DH does the door with our steam mop. Ours detaches to use as a hand cleaner.

Daydream, don't I envy you! I bet you can hang your washing out every day, can't you? No bringing it in damper than when you put it out in Greece. :D

Actually its a lovely sunny day here today so I've got our towels on the line and I've had a good potter around the garden as its relatively warm.
My spider plant is now in its nice new pot and its babies are snuggled in theirs. I do have a bit of a reputation with houseplants so I fear for the littlies but we shall see. I'll do my best. :p

Just been checking out frugalflirters blog. I'm another that will be enjoying that, as I will the prudent homemakers blog that pws52 mentioned. Beautiful photos on both that really inspire.

I'll have a minute to read up and then the herb seeds get sown.
All this sun flooding through the window is making me quite cheerful. I might start pondering my tomato varieties next. Oh the thrill! :j
