Spent an hour removing snow and ice from my car and it's still not good enough to drive. Ice seems packed around the tyres.I hope I haven't scratched it.
1xwm done
Sparkly nail varnish removed (now I know why I don't use it regularly)
Off to make lunch then I better get motivated to do some HHCs0 -
I noticed when I got my first dog that glass bottles left on the street get broken really quickly and the fragments are a nightmare until the rain has washed them away. So, for the past five years I've been picking up bottles and glasses as I passed them and dropping them in one of the bins I pass on the walk - the only effort required from me is to bend down to collect them and this is cheaper than joining a local gym.
I decided over Christmas one of my new year pledges will be to collect 365 bits of rubbish and bin it while on dog walks. As I wear leather gloves in the winter I don't have to touch the crud, which is a plus and if I can carry a bag of dogpooh as far as the bin a few fag packets and crisp wrappers aren't going to kill me. I think so far I'm up to about 45 pieces, and this morning's haul included a frosted thong. People are so weird! So far I have only rubbish picked while the dog has been sniffing and have never had to go a single step out of my way. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes to clear her normal walk and I have to go off-piste so to speak - and it's not even 2015 yet!
Over the years keeping my beady peepers on the ground has netted me a paring knife (much better off the street and used every day), a laundry basket (fantastically useful, much more than I ever would have thought), a Christmas wreath (used every year) and a very good make of saw. It costs me a bit in bleach to decontaminate the stuff but it doesn't go to landfill and it's Free!
If I were a beachcomber this would be regarded as romantic.
Sunflower hearts seed feeder refilled, bird bath ice broken and refilled, stuff tidied. The goldfinches are getting through an unbelievable amount of sunflower seeds at the moment and I've added a peanut feeder to the mix. A coal tit has started visiting.Better is good enough.0 -

I've sorted kiddies shoes. DD had the next size up in wellies, school shoes and 2x trainers :T thanks to hoarding / shopping granny. DS school shoes are fine and he also has 2 pairs of trainers - currently trying to squeeze his feet into a pair of size 10 bright pink barbie wellies :rotfl:
DD has "tidied" her room - actually does look better, and I've cleaned their windows.
Conservatory is half done, might see if I can fit the Lego railway in the middle of the Hornby one...Bossymoo

That's a great thing to do. Wasn't my thong. Once when I was riding through the woods, I saw a pair of skimpy knickers hanging from a branch. Call me unadventurous but I've never fancied it up against a tree with all that scratchy bark.......
Yes I'm having to refill the sunflower hearts every day, fat balls and nuts every few days and if I could afford it, the dried mealworms every hour! Coaltits are lovely, we have 2. Still no fairies yet.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Lounge now tidy and decluttered.
All downstairs vacuumed and vax emptied (nozzle full of poinsettia leaves!).
Kitchen improving but I'm leaving the rest of it till after lunch.
Horse now vaccinated and teeth rasped (hence interrupted kitchen and lunch).Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
