Collected a huge embroidery machine today from one of my Mums neighbours, and with the help of my daughters partner and my friend, we managed to get it in to the shop and up the stairs. Then we cleaned it and threaded it. Now I need to find out how to work it and what software I will need to run it.
This evening DGD and I watched Nanny McPhee on the tv.
I did my wages etc on the laptop and I will do the rest of the accounts tomorrow first thing, before I finish the back log of curtains that came in and I didn't get to finish because I was teaching yesterday.
I haven't heard anything from my son or twin 2 in over 10 days. Twin 1 only spoke to DGD last Tuesday.
Biggest continues to look after DGD ever other Saturday for me.
My grandson was dressed as a baby gruffalo yesterday- he looked so cute and cuddly!

Currently trying not to worry. My itching is spreading again and think the dermatitis is getting worse with stress and not managed to find out what else can cause it. ( it started again two weeks ago roughly.
Today was not as productive as yesterday for me as I was on the shop floor and teaching, but I have noticed several more people coming in for habadashery and sold some of my makes.
Been making Paw Patrol costumes for some one today.
A few jobs in and a few collected today. About £150 worth seen and about the same paid for.
My target is £150 a day - not always happening but it is a goal.
Sewn that much yesterday and today ( between us today).
The shop is looking really good in the evening when the spot lights come on. They are on a timer.
Tomorrow is my day for seeing my Mum and taking her out. Looking forward to it. Although we may be talking embroidery a lot!

  • Mooloo - I'm a football mum would your thermal bags keep bacon or sausages sandwiches warm to sell if wrapped in tin foil inside? If so this is a profit making opportunity for teams and if you give contact details or website i will promote.

hate to worry you Mooloo, but is there a risk of whoever licenses the commercial costumes / merchandise for that series sending you a 'cease and desist' letter?

I believe the company whose name begins with D will actively pursue anyone advertising dresses named after the princesses from their films, for example.
Signature removed for peace of mind

Did you look into the Golden Paste yet, Mooloo?

Re the thermal bags. Although they would keep sandwiches etc warm, I think the thermal cooking bags would be too bulky to be practical. An ordinary polystyrene box, or cool box may be better.
I will have a think about adapting the bags for other uses.
Re the costume I didn't copy it exactly and I doubt I will upset anyone for making one costume for £10.
I don't intend to make a fortune making costumes.
Re the golden paste, I didn't try it to be honest. I had cleared up when I had gone to Spain. I haven't had any of the medicine that was prescribed this time around and need to get the prescription filled.

Today I am pleased to say that I was able to help a man to sort out some help with his meds. He often has to buy 8-10 different medications st one time, and has had to pay for them. So I have applied for a HC1 form for him, and if he doesn't qualify then I told him about the Prepaid system.
I then asked him if he got the Heat Save or what ever the cold winter payments are. ( used to be warm front I think). Anyway he didn't know about it, so I called His suppliers and he qualified for it, so £140 worth of electric vouchers are going to him soon.
He only came in to the shop for his trousers to be shortened, and in talking it came about.
I am so glad I could help him.
I am wondering if there is anything else he is possibly entitled to that he isn't getting. He is on ESA contributions based. He gets housing benefit but looses out on the spare room tax.

That's my good deed for the day.
I was on my own in the shop again as my lady's father in law had a fall so she had to go to Liverpool to his care home.
But the shop ticked over ok. I didn't take much money, but I did manage to sew 122.00 worth of work. So we have about £180 to bank tomorrow for the last three days. But that's the cash, the credit cards are on top of that eventually. I have a couple of outstanding bills to pay but I am reasonably happy with the first part of the month.

Thought, it would not work once the bag was opened the first time the heat would escape quickly.

re the man you so kindly helped.

if he stays on his own he might be eligible for an enhanched amount for his esa.

not sure what you call it but worth a try.

    you are so kind. x

I didn't achieve as much as I would have liked yesterday. I rejoined an embroidery sight and down loaded a couple of embroidery files in the dst format that my new to me machine, Joy,(the machine's name), takes but as I was having problems with the laptop on a go slow I still haven't fired up the machine.
I cut out two thermal bags that have been on order a week or so, and two half aprons that a lady ordered yesterday.
I did bring some unpicking home to do last night but DGD and I sat watching Children in Need till about 9.30 and then we went to bed. I was tired.
This morning my lady is opening up the shop and DGD and I are going in later as I don't have childcare today, or any lessons to teach until 2pm.
At 4pm DGD has Brownies sleep over until 10am tomorrow, so we have her things to pack before we go in to work.
I only have a few alterations left to do that came in this week, and the makes to finish. So I haven't as much pressure on me for a change.
