Back to work with a "mission" or game plan today.
DGD will be spending the day with Biggest, as the Holiday Club is closed for a Deep Clean ready for the new intake when the Nursery opens on Thursday.
I have one sewer in this week, as the other goes on holiday. My plan is this morning we both see downstairs, she usually takes the bridesmaids dresses, and I'm going to do the badges, name tapes, and school uniforms.
Then when the Receptionist/sales assistant comes in at 1pm I will move to the top floor to finish the Roman Blinds and make Cushion Covers etc that are started.
I may need to bring some work home, because we had a lot in at the end of last week, and being closed yesterday means I've 8 hours of sewing to catch up on.
Tomorrow I have the optician, and DGD is home, and we need to make sure we have all she needs for school ready, and there is a mountain or two of ironing that really needs to be tackled.
I breathe a sigh of relief that there was enough in the bank to pay the rent, the landlords insurance instalment, and wages. But only just.
I don't plan to spend anything on big purchases this month.
Bit of a stop, September planned.
We are starting the 1/2 Price Sale on all Clothing today.
But the weather is wet, which means that we will be quiet, browsers are not usually about in the town if it's raining.

As predicted it was a very busy day on the sewing front. But lots of late requested sewing jobs for School returns Thursday, had us sewing Trousers and Blazers all day. So the Roman Blind never saw the light of day. The receptionist ended up sharing her medal with me as I sewed as many pairs of trousers as I could! Also as predicted I brought 5 jobs home to do.
DGD was good for Biggest, but Biggest is not well, so tomorrow after the optician I am on Babysitting duty of DGD2, to give her a break. Can't take baby as he is breast fed.
Tomorrow night I will probably have to bring the blinds home, as I really cannot see me getting them done if the jobs keep pouring in the door as fast as they are. All good though. Finally one job worth £140 was collected.
So that was a good start to the morning.
Then I had a phone call from a business broker asking if I wanted to sell my Business as he had clients interested in it. Of course I said No Thankyou, but it did make me think. Obviously there is Value in the business I hadn't thought about.
    But not now.
I enjoy my work, I'm happy with the business, and I'm not finished with it yet.

Well I got the blinds done. I did all the jobs I took home.
Biggest is not 100%, but I have her a rest for a little bit.
Yesterday was another busy day, all good. Money is starting to come in again, and people are still bringing in new jobs. Always a relief.
Tomorrow I celebrate 12 months of trading! Amazing.
I have 8 minutes till opening. So time to make a quick cup of tea and get organised.
DGD was back to school yesterday. So routines all need refining again.
I'm loosing some weight as I eat more healthily. Down to 9st 11lb today. I was 10st 3 when I got back off holiday.
    Have a good day everyone.

Well done on the healthy eating Mooloo :T I'm trying to do the same.

I hope DGD settles happily back into school.

Sorry, I should say "has settled", just realised she's already gone back.

What a lovely day it has been today. We spent most of it in the garden. The grass is cut. The veg patch 3/4 dug.
Three washing loads, no 4, done.
Soup for lunch. DGD has had noodles for her tea, and a huge bowl of ice cream. Not exactly a balanced diet today! Oh well.
Baths and hair washes done, and some reading fitted in.
DGD now has daily homework to do as well, which she did after much protesting.
Time for me to do the PAYE now.

Just wondering if your DGD could hone her numeracy skills on the PAYE!
reminds me of sitting round the dining room table in my childhood: 2 of us doing homework and my mum "doing the books".

Perhaps I should be doing my books while she is doing homework. She might understand the need to work at home is not just school but things in life. I usually do it when she's in bed. Mmm a thought!
I have a busy week ahead of me. Somehow I've sort of double booked myself on Wednesday. I need to be at my Mums to let the builders deliver the bathroom, yet I don't have a delivery time slot. Then I have the optician at 8.50am and then I said we would go to Kent to see Twin1 and new baby. So I will need a miracle to get it all timed beautifully and smoothly. So I'm asking the Universe for a decent time for the delivery to allow me to do everything.
Today I have a late fitting, after work. So it's going to be a busy day. I have a lot to do, there are over 22 pairs of trousers to shorten amongst other things. So I am hoping that I can get a bit done, with less interruptions, although I am on my own in the shop this morning so I doubt it.
Just writing this I have realised DGD has Brownies at 6.15 so I will need to move that fitting at 6. Or she will be late to Brownies!

Skips into the room... All excited.
Somebody actually used my website and has ordered a Thermal Cooking Bag! Yeah
It's not a brilliant site, as I made it myself, and technology is a mystery to me, but the widgets and things actually work.
The PayPal link actually did something, and now all I have to do is make one ( urgently!!!), as soon as I get back from Kent.
Tomorrow after I let the delivery people in at my Mums, I'm off to Kent to visit my newest grandson. Stopping st a B & B and returning Thursday.
Work is full on, the busiest it's ever been, and I'm so thrilled, ( nervous, and scared I can keep it up!!)
On the downside I had to raid my food supplies to give emergency fashions to DS and family, and buy nappies as Job centre Still haven't sorted out her claim, and HMRC are still not paying tax credits, or child tax credits to DS so they are living off his £50 a week bar wages!!!
I dispare at them and the system.

Mooloo, this is so hard for you, you have hit the nail on the head when you say you despair of both them and the system! It is geared up to people who can organise themselves and so many cannot. Your family are lucky to have you.

I think that if you can work alongside DGD, then it's good for her. Educators have told me that seeing family work with words and numbers helps kids realise how useful those skills are. But if you get interrupted a lot you may not be able to concentrate.
Although I did not pick up many of my Mum's skills as such, I picked up her general attitude to dealing with life and remain grateful to her. I have mentioned many times on this forum that she received good financial education when at school in the 30s, and she taught me a lot of the things that Martin is campaigning for in his Financial Education campaign ( and she taught me to sew!)

    Enjoy your trip to Kent.

    Well I'm awake!
I'm tired though as I didn't sleep too well. Having my cuppa while I check bank balances etc, and emails, Facebook and here, then time to launch myself into the shower and get moving.
I never did pack our overnight bag, or the car in readiness for our little trip.
DGD was out of sorts yesterday at school, and the teacher took me to one side to tell me. She has told them that she is "out of her routine and doesn't like it, and that Mummy has had a new baby and gone away, and she feels shoved out. Although she knows she has me, she wants her Mummy!" Well today may or may not help her then. But let's hope it's the former not the latter.
The shop is in the hands of the staff, so I hope that it will run smoothly, there is a lot too do.
And I have two thermal cooking bags to make on my return. I think I will need to start buying the filling now, as the beanbags I have been using are just about empty now.
The darker mornings, with a chill in the air means thoughts are turning to the winter.
Halloween and such like. It will soon be time to make Christmas hats again!
    Eek. But not today.
It's time to get ready for our trip. Have a good day everyone.
