Good luck for your visit to DS & GF tomorrow, Mooloo.

A thought: Could you put an ask on Freecyc!e / Freeg!e for some terry nappies for the baby? Yes if GF is lazy she won't like it, but she's not working so can't claim she's got no time for washing, and not buying disposables would put a fair bit back into their household budget that could be much better spent on food.

    I could try!
Mind you looking at the heaps of washing, lurking it would not be very savoury! I have never met anyone so lazy, so ready to blame everyone else, and so self centred as this girl, in my life. - and I have been plenty of places, and seen a lot over my life time.
I'm not exactly Mrs Domesticated myself, but boy she takes it to a new level. I reckon she needs councilling! Oh yes she did get it but was too lazy to go.

I will have Biggest with me, all going well, so hopefully we will get somewhere.

This morning I get my new glasses and trial contact lenses-( last tried in 2003). But stopped when I couldn't afford it during bankruptcy in 2006.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
  • Really hope you can get to the bottom of it Mooloo. You have so much on your plate with everything going on I am in awe. Take care of you too x

Just a thought she isnt claiming as a single parent and keeping the money for herself is she ? that would be one of the only reasons they would be claiming seperatly as to all intense and purposes they are a common law couple

She isn't getting any money as far as I can tell. Even the child benefit seamed to have gone astray.
So we methodically went through things, and hopefully they will now get the claim processed for Tax Credits based on his adverage income
We need the two employers PAYE references to get the tax split.
The housing benefit quiery has hopefully been sorted and that will kick in. The reposession of the house is halted and an agreement to pay an extra £10 a week to pay arrears has been agreed.
His electric and water etc are all on DDs but I paid goodwill payments to show willing.
    Hopefully it will improve.
I took another food parcel, and so did Biggest. Including loo rolls, nappies and stuff.
I'm tired now. Just hoping she appreciated it, but I doubt it.

You would never believe my day!
This evening my Ex Husband rang me, asking for financial advise. His problem is whether he could afford to retire early or not. So after plenty of questions etc, it turns out he is sitting on some serious thousands in his current account, never mind the savings accounts, the ISA and the early retirement quote from works options of lump sums!
gee I wish I had his dilemma.
I'm off to google some information, ( he is 60, doesn't have a computer, or internet access, still a brick mobile he can hardly use!).
But I did say yes he had enough money to retire! He doesn't needto be running behind a bin lorry this winter.

I wonder if you suggested that maybe HIS CHILDREN could come to him for handouts in the future ...

They are not his children sadly.
I was married twice. Briefly, too him, but left him after 18months as it was a disaster. He was older then me, never had kids, and couldn't relate to family life. ( I should have known my lot would be too hard to handle!) he'd been a single man for 40 odd years too long!
When I divorced him he didn't have any money, ( nor when I married him,), so I didn't ask for any money.
