I shall put an advert in the window, on the website, and the Facebook page at the beginning of July.
I already have to factor in Wedding Dress alterations.
I will be talking to the new Wedding Dress shop, and Dry Cleaners well in advance of my holiday as well.
At the moment the cost of childcare, and staff for the day is not that cost effective, but I am hoping that by the Summer, I will have a better idea as to whether I can leave staff in charge of at least the second hand shop side, and the sales side of stuff, or wether indeed I close the whole operation. ( which is my current plan).
At the time of my Birthday, and the Summer holidays there are a lot of new babies arriving in the family. So it's going to be a very busy time for me.
But I shall be as prepared as I can be.
I plan to be "Awsome" granny!! Well something like that!! Haha
Today is supposed to be Blue Monday! So as a SAD sufferer I've ordered as much positivity as I can muster, and been under my daylight bulb as much as I could. No time for the Sunbed this winter alas.
Hope everyone is well, positive, and have a good day. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Social Services have promised to get back to me as to why we have been over two years now without the Letterbox contact etc over the boys.
I got emotional chasing again. Baby would have been 5 on Saturday. Always a rough time around birthdays but at weekend Twin2 asked me to chase, she said that she isn't getting answers.
The Silent Witness episode on just now is a bit close to home.
Emotionally it's the wrong time to watch it.
Had a little sewing job today to save a well loved Bunny Rabbit, who needed a bit of stuffing and seams repaired. He got a bit of TLC and his fur brushed too! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I had a rough night, with my sleep interrupted from bad dreams. I'm sure a dream specialist would have a field day with me!
The last couple of hours I then tossed and turned, while trying to get my head into a relaxed state and do a bit of Mindstore stuff. But my mind kept wandering and the same lines in a song kept interrupting my chain of thoughts. So I feel very jaded this morning.
I see tonight will be an early night now.
Today sees the restart of my organic fruit and veg box. A bit pricy compared to Aldi super 6. But it's more for the convenience to be honest. I'm just not getting enough fresh stuff for DGD and myself these days. Certainly been too much comfort foods and not enough of the good stuff.
I hope that today I manage to get a few complicated jobs out of the way between 10 and 2, when I have my help in the shop. I'm also hoping that the lady who sometimes helps me clean will be able to pop into the house today and help keep things on track here.
I still have far too much junk, clothes and sewing clutter, so I need a bit of a concerntrated effort to deal with that! Which is my job not the lady who cleans!
Time to wake DGD for school or we will be late. Only just got there yesterday, by the time we defrosted the inside of the car, as well as the outside.
Have a better day everyone. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I shall be having an early night tonight. I'm very tired.
Slow day at work, people in browsing but not many buying today. Can't be busy every day I suppose. Well I still had enough sewing to last the rest of the week.
DGD had pancakes for tea.
I had a Sunday left over dinner.
I'm counting the time before I can go to bed! I shall tape Silent Witness. I found it a little too close to home yesterday as I was thinking about the boys and their adoption. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo re your letter box contact. Does the child contact you and then you respond or vice versa? Or do they just send you a yearly update?
I'm on the other end of it. I was expecting to do it in 2013 and it was due again in nov just gone but we have to wait for birth parents to do their letter first. The letters they sent in 2012 (they were only supposed to send one) were horrid, blaming a two year old for being removed (how they got past the sw was beyond me) So I'm actually pleased we haven't received one.
I suppose you would have to chase the social worker?1 -
I found the Silent Witness episode quite traumatic to watch yesterday, and I have no experience with social services, so I can't begin to understand how you're feeling Mooloo! I hope the second episode tonight is easily! I do wonder what the end of the story really is!LBM: August 2006 £12,568.49 - DFD 22nd March 2012

I'm not exactly sure what the letterbox is going to be/should be.
We have birthday cards etc
I'd like to write about their cousin, DGD and dgs1 were very close and she still talks about him a lot. Telling him and his brother that sort of thing would be nice.
To hear that they are well, and having days out, or doing things at school would be a bonus. A photo to treasure a little miracle.
But I'm not holding my breathe.
Going to try and get some sleep. Part two is taping. I was jaded all day. Need to focus tomorrow, I've a lot of jobs on the go at the moment and can't afford to make mistakesWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
The Letterbox co-ordinator rang me today.
She said we are supposed to get Letterbox in September. She is going to ask why, and whether we can have news now. As September is a long way off. All she could tell me was one of the boys had just started school, and they were happy and well.
I had a shock with the shops Electric Bill. £205 this month.
So a huge dent in my accounts. Scared me a bit.
Read the meter and rang them. Noticed the meter date and time is wrong. Going to be two weeks before they can send someone out to sort the meter. So the storage heaters have been guzzling at day time rates.
They estimate the 26 light bulbs are costing me £1.50 a day and storage heaters about £30 a week.
I have set the DD to £100 a month from next month so I can budget better. Then I needto change the Hallogen bulbs to LED ones. But at £5-£6 each that's going to have to be a gradual one.
Takings have dropped dramatically as the cold weather is keeping people at home.
I'm in a little bit of a panic as to having the wages bill this month. So I have a lot to sort out. The rent I have. But only 1/3 of the wages, with only 8 1/2 days trading left for the month.
It's probably going to mean that I have to discuss an overdraft facility, or use my personal savings to prop it up.
Not the best situation to be in.
The advert I paid £216 for has still not been printed, and I here that it now isn't going to print till 6th Feb. it was expected out in December!
And breathe.
Perhaps I will have to EBay some of the clothing stock.
I won't be buying in any more anyway. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
have you other stuff you can ebay?
anything to sell to get you by?
don't forget facebook selling pages if you have anything big to get rid of0 -
Might be worth getting your local business link or similar to take a look at your plan/figures for the shop because if you aren't making enough to cover both your and your assistant's wages then it isn't sustainable - a second pair eyes might come up with some useful ideas about increasing income / managing costs.Snootchie Bootchies!0
