Mooloo's "Making my future, one stitch at a time"?

Morning from a very bleary eyed moo!
These tablets really do knock me to sleep! I only woke once for the loo, and struggle to open my eyes when the alarms go off.
My 6.30 alarm went off and it was 20 minutes later when I properly opened my eyes and switched the kettle on!
I have only just come down stairs having only just checked the accounts etc in the banking. Business account still has £1006. Which is great so early in the month, although a big chunk will be due out for the cabinets deposit tomorrow, and the pattern book hire. I haven't had the bill yet but the initial deposit for the cabinets is about £120 each!
I shall not be daunted, I have at least £400 worth of jobs waiting to be done.
I do need to pop in to work at some stage today to do one skirt and top that's needed for tomorrow, but am planning to take the day at a more leisurely pace.
( I managed to catch up on the paperwork till 1st December! So only another 5 months worth to go!)
So bad! But I will get there!
The sun is currently out, the birds are singing, here's hoping for a good day today. Plan to go see Mum and family tonight. Well late afternoon.
A cuppa and a chat first thing with my friend who used to work with me.
And some housework inbetween all that.
Looks like a full day then!
Oh and try to get back to see the doctor! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo, I'm unsure if you have actually checked fees with the council. There are circumstances in which they charge no fees, and I wonder if it is worth exploring that, should the other suggestions not work (fingers crossed that they do!)
The cabinets sound lovely! Have a good day.0 -

Mooloo brought cats into the house long after her tenancy started, therefore the council will charge her. The only time they would possibly treat for free is for new tenants. And this is why when a tenant vacates a property they rip out all carpets and soft furnishings etc to reduce risk of flea contamination.
I've seen brand new carpets ripped out before now. It's a sad state of affairs when you consider new tenants often can't afford decent carpets. And all it takes is a £10 veterinary grade spray to eradicate any potential fleas.0 -
We have treated the rooms. I have completely stripped beds and hoovered matteresses. ( I am knackered).
Washing what I can.
I've removed the soft toys from DGD's bed. Some can be washed. Others I'm not so sure how to treat. They are currently in black Sacks, and I will put them in the shed until I can deal with them.
I know if you freeze things for a few weeks it kills moths lavae so wonderif it would work with fleas! Must investigate.
I wouldn't dream if expecting the council to do it for free.
I don't expect anything for free these days!!
DGD is in the bath. Playing with her toys. Actually asked to go in again. It's been a while! Usually it's a fight to get her in.
Oh my Avon delivery has arrived. Must go check it all. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I would think freezing would be a good idea, kills house dust mites (used to have to do this with DS's soft toys).0

Good excuse to clear out the freezers and have a sort out then!
Luckily for me the next set of evening classes don't start until next Thursday. So that's a job for after work today.
I am slowly getting better from the itching rash. Although hindered by the odd flea bite. I put mosquito repellant on DGD, and deep cleaned her room, but forgot to put any repellant on me last night. Don't think I have had any new bites, but knowing the rascals are about makes me feel itchy, and keep thinking every little tingle etc is one on me. In reality I found one slow one, as I was going to bed. Diligently crushed the blighter!
But every tiny black speck is an alert!
Hope the spray arrives soon!
Belt and braces kind of job!
Today is a big day for me. My cabinets are coming.
I also need to pop out to my Mum's to collect the gift voucher for the 1000th customer! And also pick up a bottle of fizz! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I didn't mean to mislead - this probably varies with different authorities, but my local one does offer free and reduced cost services in certain circumstances, which are to do with income & vulnerability, not tenancy.
Hope the current treatment works.0 -
I have done the spray today. Let's home that works!
At work I took delivery of my pattern cabinets! Yeah something new to offer my customers.
I have also started to sell off my remnants when people are popping in and asking. It is just a little way off offering fabric to people without investing in anything that I haven't already bought over the years. As I only opened up access to the fabrics in the last two days it's a see how it goes, but already 4 customers happy, and about £15 in my till. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Celebrations!
My 1000th Alteration came in today. A photo opportunity, luckily a willing customer who actually is a regular - so even better.
As I opened today I had several women I'd never seen before in and looking at, and buying sewing patterns. So 3 sold today.
I know it's peanuts but what a great start.
Momentous day for me I think.
So here is cheers to the first 1000th, and the next 1000th.
Tomorrow I have 4 ladies learning to use the overlocker.
Not taught that one before but we will see. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Congratulations and VERY well done Mooloo ! xxNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0
