Morning.
Feeling much better on the itching side. The meds are starting to work.
DGD is not feeling very well. So another complication to start the week and change my plans. She will have to come to work with me and watch a DVD in the workroom. Not ideal but Mum is no longer a place to go as she's gone to the BF's, and will soon be out of the loop anyway.
Can't see what DGD is actually suffering from, except lethargy!
I hope she is not trying to pull a fast one. She's taken an hour to get downstairs and get dressed! Time will tell with her I suppose.
Unfortunately today is the only day I don't have my staff until 1.30pm. It's my ladies day off, and the sewing lady doesn't run the shop, etc only sews when she does come in. So I suppose that means a very interrupted day.
I also must get the phone numbers on my mobile, not just in the diary at work!
I shall just have to make the best of it.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Hi Mooloo,
Just had a thought last night...the best way to test for fleas. Get a saucer/cereal bowl > Fill it with water > Point a light source at it, a desk lamp or bedside table lamp tilted so the light is hitting the water > Leave it overnight. If you see black dots in the water in the morning, then you have fleas at home.
It's best to try to do it where the cats spent most of their time, like next to the sofa. X0 -
The flea bombs have arrived. So I will set them off in the front room, and the bedrooms. Hopefully we will be ok. I will do it as I go out to work.
Today wasa busy day, but not much money in, but lots of jobs to do. It will keep me out of mischief for at least 8 days.
I may not get a full day off on Wednesday.
It may be dependant on what we manage to get through tomorrow.
I couldn't work late tonight because I had DGD with me.
But I have accounts to be keeping me busy anyway.
The tax credit renewal forms have arrived. Along with my credit card bill, and the cross stitch magazine.
My Approved Food delivery also came. So a good stock of cleaning products, and yummy things like chocolate bars and crisps!
I also have some new curtains and stronger poles for them that I bought off of my friends. So another lot of jobs to add to my list of to do's.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

How is DGD today? Did her illness turn into anything?
DGD is fine. Perhaps over tired, not 100%, but after a sleep and no ad dashing about she seems ok. she went to Brownies, this evening.
Back to school tomorrow. Better to have checked then send her and be ill or pass a bug around school.
Thanks for Asking.
I'm tired. Time for bed. Night peopleWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Struggling myself to wake up. Alarm went off at 6.30 but I didn't bring up water etc to make tea and so nodded back off again. Noise of neighbour going to his job woke me. Although I have further alarms set through out the morning, with the aim to keep me on track.
First thing this morning I shall tackle a load of the little jobs. Hopefully that will help "powerhouse" me through the day, as I move the done items to the collection rail. There are some 30 jobs in. Job 965 came in yesterday.
DGD woke me at 3.45 wanting to use the commode as she no longer can fit on a potty, and won't go downstairs in the dark to the loo. Then she asked why the birds were singing in the dark.
Looks like my new sari curtains are helping darken the rooms then. (Bought off of my friend via Facebay. Luxurious jewel colours. DGD has both red and blue ones in her room. Red facing out, blue facing in!
I have emerald green heavy ones with a valance and gold beading. Very ornate, but lined. So darkens the room better.
Right next alarm has gone. No excuses I need a cup of tea and to shake a leg! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Help!
The fleas have surfaced today! So we definitely have them. The flea bomb says to disable the smoke alarms. Mine are mains charged and I can't see how to disarm it. I can't even get the cover off. So I can't set them off!
How can I get around it? Would taping a plastic bag around the two alarms work? Both alarms are in the hall. Top and bottom.
If I shut the room doors as I set each bomb do you think that would work?
I shall have to put it off until tomorrow when I'm not at work. ( a good excuse to go see my Mum etc once they are set if I can get the alarm sorted. I can't see a circuit on the fuse board labelled for alarms!)When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Call the council and ask them to send their vermin control people to de-flea your property. You might also want to have a think about if you've inadvertantly conveyed any fleas/eggs to your shop in the fabric/clothes you've taken home to work on and then taken back to the shop..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Their eggs can be dormant for a long time then hatch out when disturbed - as we found out when DH put some old duvets on the bed to roll them up smaller, then not long afterwards I got bitten and found a flea in the bed
It had been three years since we'd had cats, and had always treated them and their beddingbut the little critters can't half jump a long way. I had to get some strong spray from the vet surgery, and that got rid of them, thankfully.

You're better off buying a spray as this will then also kill off any eggs that subsequently hatch for up to a year after treatment. The best one on the market is Vetkem Acclaim and can be bought online for less than £10. Will cost double from a vet.0
