I don't doubt she did have earache, but it has definitely got better as she wasn't asking for her medicine or for the hot water bottle to be refilled,
that's not a hot water bottle to hold close to her ear is it? I've heard - and this is not medical advice! - that you really shouldn't do that. Heat just warms the bugs up and they multiply ...

It also softens the wax and it drains easier. So they say.
I think it is more a comfort thing rather then a medical one though. If I've Ben wrong then I feel bad, however it was always help to me and mine.
She is on the mend. School today didn't shops as granny is too soft, but it's definitely happening tomorrow unless snow stops school.

Morning. I enjoyed watching the catch up programme about the Sewing Bee last night.
I shall have to record it as the lessons have been moved to a Thursday night this time.
Hopefully today will see a few people collecting their alterations and some money in the till. I need to pay some wages tomorrow.
So it's a bit tight. The rent goes out tomorrow as well.
It's cold here but I can't see any snow. Looks like a frost on the car from the window, but I've not ventured out there yet.
I put the storage heater back on in the workshop as I left yesterday, as it was bitter in there. Even with fabric fleece over the windows. Can't have my ladies sewing today in the cold.
I've also some curtains that need doing so the top deck is the best place to work in.
DGD slept all night, and wrapped up warm she can go back to school today .
I had a phone call from the Social Service Letterbox coordinator. She spoke to the adoptive parents of my boys and they say we will get letterbox in June now. That the boys are well. That DS1 is struggling with the changes at a new school, but that he has been in a nurturing group, and is now ready to join the rest of his peers. That DS2 is settling into school well.
They are monitoring DS1 but haven't actually diagnosed ADHD as such. Mmmmm twins were 11 before they were diagnosed.
    Fingers crossed for him.
It's so good just to get a snippet of information.
I've messaged Mum to tell her.
Time to get on and face the day Properly. Although I'd still rather have a duvet day and hibernate till spring!
Winter is not my favourite time of year at all. Too dark for me.

Well I didn't get the curtains done, I did get lots of smaller jobs done, that were needed ASAP, or that the zips etc had arrived and I could finish. Managed to Bank £105. Every little helps as wages etc are going out today. Doesn't really leave me with very much, so I am going to have to really watch my spends and not get new stock for the clothing side this week/next
And I think I may have to photograph the things I've had a while and try and sell them on line. To generate a little more cash.
The sign writer has been to discuss the signs I want. ( Dad has said he will get them for me). Depends on price.
Evening class was cancelled as my ladies didn't want to venture out due to a snow flurry in the afternoon. I have said it will have to go ahead next week, and possibly we may need to extend the hours the following weeks or I'm going to be running into the March Courses.
Today it's got to be the curtains, and a note on the door to ring the bell for attention if my staff isn't there.
DGD has a visit to a chocolate factory here in the town with school. Hope it's not cancelled. Her pottery one has been cancelled as the woman said not enough signed up.
My friend from Towcester who I rarely get to see due to family commitments, work duties etc has finally managed to arrange to come over tonight to visit me. So a girly night in. Yeah. Looking forward to it. Would have liked to go out to the school fund raiser but no childcare, and Mum conveniently said ( at the beginning of the week), she can't have her as she's not well. ( so how would she have coped then if she planned on having her permanently I ask?- not that I would let that happen!)
Time to get a move on, need to wash my hair. Since cutting it short it seems to need washing most days! It's more work then when it was long.

I hurt my back somehow cleaning the windscreen of the car on Friday morning. So I struggled to move around. I rang the lady about the curtains, and had said there will be a delay, as my back was too sore to lean over the huge table etc. She was fine as she was in no hurry. I had a lot of trousers to shorten and split seams to repair, so did that. We managed to bank another £80 on Friday morning.
There is about £50 more in on Saturday. Considering the snow on the ground and the street being quiet, wasn't too bad.
Biggest came over, she's had her first scan, all seems ok and on track. Her baby is due about a week before twin1's. Both when DGD and I are away on our annual holiday to Spain. In August.
I struggled at work both days, and as DGD was on a sleep over last night I was flat on my back with my heat pads by 4.30 yesterday.
I was sick several times, and feeling sick today. I have the tens machine on, the heat pad on and off, and pretty much laid up today.
Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow. I have had to revert to my pain killers. After nearly 2 years without any.
    :(

  • Sorry you are in so much pain Mooloo. This is when self employment is so hard. Good luck with it all - you are an inspiration to many with your fortitude and determination - well I think so anyway!

Thanks, but I'm just me. Muddling through my life and doing the best I can. Although I do struggle with some of the issues, but on the whole, I don't really have much choice.
This week I've struggled with emotions, especially with conversations over the boys. The issues arising now over twin1. The problems of zero contract hours and DS and his gf at rock bottom in a travel lodge with no cooking or laundry facilities, and no money. The benefits are not sorted out. They are as low as you can be except they are in a room and not on the street thank goodness.
There is always a silver lining we just have to look for it. However it's not always easy.
I will get the positivity back soon!

Well Mother Nature has decided to sabotage my life! Last week DGD had an ear nose throat infection, since Friday I've had a bad attack of sciatica and at 2.30am DGD was sick, so no school for 48 hours! Meaning reduced opening for the shop.
I have posted on my Facebook page, and several local sites I use, and hope that it will reach as many customers as possible.
I shall have to go in, sort out the float etc, and bring work back home again. It's not comfortable enough for DGD to be at the shop for a full day so we will open up on reduced hours, when staff can be there, and I will bring jobs home to do. That's all I can do really.
I just hope it was a one off bout and doesn't last too long!

Staff collected the safe keys etc, so I didn't have to go in, and will bring me back jobs to do later today/during the morning.
The shop has been reasonably busy this morning, with four or five new jobs in. A few collections, so a decent amount can be banked from fr/sat/this morning.
I have been taking it easy, with tens machine and heat pads interspersed with a little sewing preparations here at home. Working around DGD and her needs. She's not been sick again, but her bowel movements are a bit out of sorts so to speak! She's very pail, and very quiet.
I'm going to see what I've got to create a few sales items for the shop while I can. X

    Well all best plans etc
DGD has perked up and has a little more colour.
Staff dropped off some sewing at 2.30 on her way home. But didn't get to the bank. She has since informed be her little lad is ill, so tomorrow's plans are out of the window. I will have to take DGD and go in. At least she appears on the mend. I have done two of the jobs brought, and upcycled a denim jacket. Now I'm resting my back, heat pad back on and a cup of tea.
I am not sure of my plans for the evening meal yet. I didn't get around to do the menu plan.
Something I should do this evening I suppose. My Abel & Cole delivery is in the morning, and I've a good lot of veg still here to use up. Possibly some diced and sliced and frozen or a soup.
