Ok I think that I may be stock piling the meat.
I have at least 120 meals worth!
So no meat buying for me for at least 2 months. Probably more.
With 58 chicken breasts now in the freezer I have been looking at chicken recipes!
The car set me back £360 today. So good job my store cupboards are so full.
I better remember to plan the weeks meals and stop buying ready meals on the way home from work each day.
Tonight we had Scotch Broth, followed by a chicken and salad wrap. Followed up by a panacotta made from a 13p double cream that was sitting in the freezer and some uht milk.
This afternoon we put up the Christmas tree. Earlier in the day I did one of the jobs from work I had brought home. One customer required his mothers tablecloths darned, made good and table napkins made out of the more damaged cloth! What a task, not really something that I like doing as it was such a hole ridden cloth and one stained with food even.
But it's done now and I am washing the napkins and hope the stains come out! The damask is so thin, and I think it must be over 50 years old. ( my staff described them as rags fit for the dust sheet or the bin!) but it is more about sentiment.
I am tired this evening, the day at home seems to drag out compared to a day at work. ( usually I am dashing hither and tither so it usually flys by.)When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Good morning. I am sitting up in bed with my phone and a cup of tea.
I can hear the wind blowing down the chimney and it's still dark so I don't want to get up.
Of course I do have to get up and get moving and I will have to take DGD to work with me, which I am dreading.
The end of the week is practically upon us and I have so much to do.
I am struggling with a bout of depression that is sitting on my shoulder and trying to come in. I am turning into the bright lights and trying to dispel it.
I would like a duvet day but of course that's not possible as there is a lot of work to do and the other seamstress cannot do any overtime this week and goes away at the middle of next week.
It's time like this when I wish my reception lady could sew.
I still have a bomb site downstairs as I was too tired to finish putting up the decorations and left them in the middle of the floor along with the dry washing on the dumping ground we call the sofa!
Then there are a pile of junky toys, Lego, craft stuff etc to deal with as I pulled them out from the corner where I have put the Christmas tree.
I have still got the washing up to do from last night as well. ( told you that the depression was lurking at my shoulder).
First things first, I need to go down and turn the heating up, wake DGD and make the kitchen user friendly so we can do breakfast and make some packed lunch so we don't blow a fiver in the baguette shop next door at lunchtime.
I hope that that will get me shuffling from one job to the next until it's time to go to work. As we are not going to school I can potter a little and leave about 30 minutes later to get straight to the shop.
Well that is the theory anyway.
Here is hoping your all well, and that you too are not fighting the black dog! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Mooloo do you have a slow cooker? If you have a large one you can make 2-3 times the amount you need, divide and freeze for quick meals later. I even use roasting bags and put all ingredients in them and freeze them uncooked. I then thaw overnight and either cook them in the oven or slow cooker. All the prep is done in one go and you can have 1-3 months worth of meals ready to go. I have even prepared the bags with already frozen meat without thawing them then put back in the freezer.0

Yes I have a slow cooker, although I use my Thermal Cooking Bags more as it saves on fuel.
I should have a cooking planning day, but it will have to wait a little while now as the freezer is so full I couldn't get a meal in it!
I suppose my problem is being time and energy poor, oh and living in a "organised chaos" most of the time.
DGD is on the mend and I will send her back to school tomorrow.
After a day at work with me she was so bored that she even said that she wants to go back to school.
I am as usual tired by the time I get home, and as the dark descends I just want to snuggle up with a duvet. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Another day dawns and it's going to be a busy one as I try to get through the myriad of jobs that are waiting. It is a veritable smorgasbord of things today.
I will be better off telling you what I achieved at the end of the day rather than what I want to do as the two things are ever the same. Oh for life to be that simple. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Today:- dolly's bedding.
Named Christmas stocking.
Shortened net curtains
Turned double duvet and a set of curtains into two duvet covers.
Shortened a jumpsuit, three pairs of jeans, one of trousers.
Adapted an halterneck dress and a cape.
Did several fittings. Served customers, and drank copious amounts of tea!
In the middle of that I did some admin, and at the end some cleaning. Then I came home and after dinner I went on the Internet and booked a few days holiday in January for a friend and me as DGD is due to be with her mum.
Let's be optimistic and hope that I get this mini break as Dad died last time and I didn't get to go.
Now it's very late and I must get some sleep xxWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Morning. My day started about an hour ago but I am still in bed as I was listening to my self help hypnosis tape. (Get Paid More!). Seeing as I have not been able to pay my self yet, I decided I need to find my worth to myself and look towards the big picture of my actually factoring in my wages next year.
Cup of tea time now as I properly wake up and get ready for work. Last night was a very late night for me and I do still feel tired but by the time I have had my tea and shower etc I shall be fine. ( not looking outside at the weather but I can feel it is colder and the heating will need to go on as soon as I get down stairs.
DGD is going to my staffs daughter again today to make cakes and probably play on some computer games. Certainly between 10 and 2 when I am at my busiest.
The plan is to get blinds and bags all cut out this morning then after the lessons I hope I get time to start to make them up. My biggest jobs that have been held up while my week was disrupted etc. So they are now urgent and at the top of the list for today and possibly tomorrow afternoon for a while. Depends on how much I get done today.
On the home front the decorations still need to go up as so far only the tree is up and decorated.
Time to make that move. Brrr it's cold out of bed! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Well I didn't do too badly today but I didn't finish any of the biggest jobs. The lesson with the children today was knackering as two of them are hyperactive. But we got through and one made a Christmas tea cosy and the rest made table runners.
I had a mending job in before I was really open, which I did while waiting for staff to arrive.
DGD went to her daughter and made cakes. Yummy.
There are even more Roman blinds to make, they seam to be the in thing at the moment.
I will be working flat out this next week as well. - good as I expect January will be quieter if last year has anything to go by.
Time for strictly on the tv and a glass of wine me thinksWhen I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
It's really important to pay yourself, preferably every week. Just remember, the business isn't you; it's you AND the business. You both deserve your sales. I suggest setting up a standing order, transferring money from your business account to your personal account. Even if initially all you do is transfer £20 a week, and just leave it/forget about it, trust me, you'll feel so much better. Think of it as "me" money.0
