Apt as always with both the smiley and the picky today Upsidedown Bear - loved them. They gave me a real giggle!
Hopefuljoy as bizarre as it sounds to be writing this, hooray for physical illness!! I know the miasma that depression leaves around the place. You are always slightly depressed at the idea of being depressed again. I am very lucky that my few and far between bouts are contained by my otherwise happy go lucky nature. Very odd the way it can affect anyone in any way for what feels like no reason. Here is hoping that once you (and the penicillin!) have kicked the bugs into touch, you feel much more YOU. I know you are a super happy positive personxx
Greying... *nowt* - I love you. That is all.

Good evening everyone,
Hopefuljoy - that's great to hear that there is a good physical explanation for feeling grotty. Take the doctor's orders seriously and have an excellent two days' bed rest.
I have just googled Greg McKeown and have added him to my list of interesting websites to explore, so thanks for that recommendation/suggestion.
I am heading to my bed soon. One of my colleagues came back from holiday and has offered to lend me *another* two books. They look really interesting so I am on a mission to crack on with the book tower that is growing daily on my bedside table!
The mediterranean eating plan is continuing. DB is hooked: he announced this morning that he thought it was a good thing. This is because 1) he loves any excuse to eat nuts (I give him a very small tub of them each day) and 2) he has lost 3 lbs since we started eating this way. I haven't got the heart to tell him that any plan that involves staying away from the vending machine at work and not eating large portions of Christmas cake every day would probably have the same effect :rotfl:
Have a good evening everyone.0 -
Hi GP, re your adventures with dosa cooking, I watched a repeat of a HFW programme over the hols and he was doing some cooking at an Indian wedding feast and yes it was dosas and yes he had the same problems as yourself with them splitting and cracking so I guess it takes a while to get a technique!
Hopeful Joy, I echo others and glad to hear its not depression descending0 -
love this thread - just saying!!!!0

Good Morning :hello:
Running late - but just wanted to pop in to say HI! and thank you for all those lovely, supportive posts - for me, Hopefuljoy and for each other. Y'all ROCK!
Dinner last night was Anjum Anand's Lemony Spinach Hotpot - I love it, but there is no recipe I can find on the net to shareI did have to improvise, as mrA doesn't seem to stock aubergines currently, I used mushrooms, and to avoid it being too much like the mung bean casserole, I subbed sweet potato for the ordinary potato. Pic here;
And 7 week wonder - we're enjoying the smaller portions too - with absolutely no feeling of 'lack'. What on earth were we doing before?????
Dinner this evening is a Buddha bowl.
Ta for popping in, reading and commenting.
Mucho appreciated.
See y'all later.

Smaller portions well that's something I could try this end. I currently can't get into my trousers.
Looks yummy!
Good morning to all you lovelies and have great days chaps.
I have to confess to the spoiling of an avocado but the chooks gratefully ate it, so it wasn't all lost. Although it looked manky. Green stuff is rather short on the ground at the moment so I'm also buying reduced lettuces for them which I kind of feel guilty about in some ways (human food used for animals) but then again seeing the supermarkets awash in green stuff at this time of year, its hardly salad weather, why don't they do seasonal the salad bit is still full to bursting, I know we all need some but this much. Oh don't let me get myself started.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
