Ha ha - what a lovely way to think about it. mmm, yesHave I, in fact, made a rod for my own back....... :think: :rotfl:
brizzle - lovely to *see* you
Thank you to all the 'mummies' who've been honest about PJ wearing. But there's one thing that has been playing on my mind. How come, when the *celebs* appear in *lifestyle* magazines with their nu babes, do they not appear in PJ's? Full make up I've seen, designer shoes and evening gowns, but PJ's? Nada. Am confused :think:.................. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

greenbee - lovely to see you. MrS had the marinated tofu, but I've not seen the smoked. Mmm, I will have a look next time I'm in the big MrW in the city across the way. I wondered if you were away with work, as I've not *seen* you in a while. Thank you for making the time to drop into mine. I know you're a busy gal
Have had an infestation of builders. But they've gone (for now). Next job is to open the bill and pay it... then I leave the countryOff to east coast US next week, then home for 5 days and back to the west coast of Canada. I'll be drooling over your food pictures while I'm trying to minimise my intake of brown food in hotels...

Oh my goodness, noooo. They need to be sacked don't they? Wait, just wait a minute, whilst I get on to my butler, to ring for my PA to bring me the phone...........................:rotfl:
greenbee - work travel always sounds so exotic on paper, but in reality its hard work isn't it?It'll be hot in those locations too at this time of year. I hope that your clients are nice, and that at least a little greenery appears on your hotel plates...........
Not quite up with the lark, but the blackbird was going for it at dawn this morning. He was going for it last thing last night tooA lovely sound though, I think
We're out and about from Greying Towers today. Might just pack a little picnic tooIt'll only be sandwiches and a little bit of cake, but we'll hopefully enjoy it none-the-less
The cake is one that I got off the internet - my version is in 'ounces', but I know that I also pulled off THIS version off the OS board if anyone is interested. I used mrT valoo pineapple (drained and rinsed) and blitzed it with the stick blender. Lucious moist cake is the result - although i didn't even leave the fruit mixture overnight, just a couple of hours
Right, off to make Baby Greying smell gorgeous

I have to admit it was for this reason I felt sorry for Kate when she had Prince George. When you've just had a baby all you want to do is hide from the world and just look at your baby.....foreverBut poor Kate, from the second she knew she was going to be discharged I bet a nanny took George away from her while she showered and washed her hair (that bit may not be too bad
) then she had someone tell her what to wear (white???? She's just had a baby!!!!) someone else did her make up so she looked vaguely human and someone else to do her hair. And then she had to smile and pose for pictures that were sent around the world! I bet as soon as she got home she stuck her hair in a pony tail and put her pj's on like the rest of us :rotfl:

Is it wrong to buy a big birthday cake because it's really really reduced even though it's not your birthday? :think:0

Good Evening :hello:
starnac - I'm sure being really rich or being a celebrity or whatever is not all it is cracked up to be. They can keep it - I wouldn't trade places with them for the world. Like you say, you want to be able to wear your big knickers, under your stained trakkie bottoms, in hubsters fleece, not having to worry about the sick in your hair, and just be...................Upsidedown_Bear wrote: »Is it wrong to buy a big birthday cake because it's really really reduced even though it's not your birthday? :think:

Well, we didn't go out adventurising todayUnfortunately, Baby Greying seemed to want to overfill their nappy............. _pale_ Luckily it was before we'd started to depart the homestead in earnest (hadn't even begun snap prep!), so we figured that a baby, in a car seat, on a journey on what became a hot day, probably wasn't the best idea........ BG has been a bit fractious all day, but luckily is well, and bright enough. We did venture out for a walk later this afternoon. We meandered through marks&$pensives on the high street and picked up a few YS'd items. Not massive bargains, but 2kg of rred onions for 90p, 2kg carrots for 80p and 2.5kg of King Edwards for £1. The tatties weren't really any cheaper than h3r0n F00ds, but a bigger bag, and actually better potatoes in this instance. We then wandered through the local park, drank our own bottled water and took in the birdsong
Tea was a bit 'bottom of the fridge buddha bowl' as one of the avocados that i got from mrL the other day was ripe. I cooked brown rice and puy lentils. Then I cooked a red onion, garlic, mixed peppers, a lone sweet potato (diced small) and some sweetcorn. Added in cumin, cinnamon, oregano, S&P. Combined with the rice and lentils, and then topped with the avocado - which (luckily) was absolutely perfectly ripe, which i then 'drizzled' yoghurt over and added a splodge of some h3llmuns chipotle table sauce and some nigella seeds. Picture;
It was actually quite tasty - the chipotle added the right amount of heat, and there were enough components to take it in a 'mexican' themed direction. I'll probably never have that combination of ingredients again, but it was alright
Think we all might have an early night tonight. The heat is rather wearing, truth be told.
Today i am grateful for these 3 things;
- that *nappygate* happened at home and not on the road....... :eek:
- for a supportive comment about my mothering abilities from a comparative stranger.
- for 'next day' service (for no extra charge) from a UK company that I haven't used for years. They are still as good as they were all those years ago......... :cool:
I'll love ya and leave ya. Thanks for popping in, commenting and taunting us with cake..... Appreciate itAlways

Yummy looking dinner.
I came on to say that I found powdered coconut milk today - a small box with a yellow and black packaging, no discernible logo as it has one of those imported ingredients labels over where it should be, 350g but only 40p in Home Barguns. The date is end October but it will be a distant memory by then. The assistant couldn't tell me if it was nationwide but if you have an HB not too far off your beaten track then it might be worth a shot.
I remember the 'joys' of shooting nappies - can't decide whether to wipe or bathe first, and that's just you let alone the baby. I don't envy you that bit but I still miss those lovely post-bath cuddles.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Good Morning :hello:
Well, we're rested, but the day hasn't started that well. Why do chaps think that *tidying* just means moving stuff from one point to another. Its in the way where it is (I agree), but how is covering the table where we eat, and leaving it there, going to help matters?
Not sure what we'll do today. I've gone *off the boil* about where I'd planned to go yesterday. Would like a family day out, but a bit out of inspiration.......Should pick a NT property really, but 'new' ones are a bit of a car drive away. Ah well, *First World* bunkum, we'll do something.joeyjimbles wrote: »I found powdered coconut milk today - a small box with a yellow and black packaging, no discernible logo as it has one of those imported ingredients labels over where it should be, 350g but only 40p in Home Barguns.
:wave: to joeyjimbles - Ooh, that sounds a bargain - cheaper than AF had it several years ago when I used to bother ordering from them. I shall look to see if we have it in ours. Sometimes we don't have the things at exactly the same time, but they come in eventually. :rotfl:to 'can't decide whether to wipe or bathe first' It was definitely one of thoseUpsidedown_Bear wrote: »

Upsidedown Bear - you didn't mention it was chocolate cake - 14 slices would never be enough:rotfl:
brizzle - I hope you like the cake - actually, i was thinking that next time I wouldn't blitz the pineapple quite as much as i did - I think 'bits' would be a good thing. I didn't put cherries in mine, but i did use up some dried cranberries i had, they plumped up nicely. I'll look up the pear and ginger cake you mention - can you use tinned pears?
Can't believe that we are at the end of the week already. I shall be aiming for pizza and wedges for us tea tonight, but it will depend on whether we go out or not.
Right, I'm away to make some 'sausage' rolls.
