    Good Morning :hello:
    Sorry, extensive tofu-waffling there :o :rotfl: :rotfl:

    *snort* - you're on a veggie's thread Cheery - it's allowed :D that tofu sounds grand. Mmm, i bet i could track some down, but I bet not in the metropolis. Although I have a feeling that it is something that our greengrocer may stock, but i sure as hickey don't think it'll be £2 in this neck of the woods. I shall have a gander, report back and move to your neighbourhood sharpish if it's over £4 :D:D:D:rotfl:

    Well we've had a good start to the day, so long may it continue. Although I've so much to do, I don't know where to start :( Do I start with things that should have been done weeks ago, or things that are really, really, really important to clan Greying? Ach, decisions, decisions.

    Again, i have no idea what's for our main meal. I definitely need to use things from the freezer, but it also depends on the weather - which now seems to be changing, just because i bought living lettuce leaves yesterday :D:(:rotfl:

    Right, mustache. Laters.

    Set yer timer Greying. 15 mins on one thing that should have been done weeks ago, then 15 mins on something important for now :D Or whatever timings work out. You'll get there! :kisses3:

    Found the tofu - this is the brand we bought - probably is around the same price in the shop thinking about it

    Smoked tofu

    oooh, ta Cheery - I'd not heard of that mail-order company before either, so thanks for the link. Mmm, I don't remember seeing that packaging in the greengrocers, but then I've not studied their chiller cabinet in detail, as several things that i have seen have been impressively priced and my gaze has glazed over sharpish...... :D

    Well, I've achieved 2 things already - one of which is to get dressed....... :rotfl: We're on a roll!

    Dropping in quickly to say I get smoked/flavoured tofu in Waitrose as well as my local health food shops.

    I'm having the same problem of so much to do I don't know where to start... so I made a list :) Not sure whether it'll help as 'urgent' stuff comes up to interrupt. And I'm off travelling for work on Saturday, so I have the dreaded packing to deal with too...

    Getting dressed is a milestone to be celebrated Greying so well done. I always found that by the time I had sorted baby out and then done everything that needed doing, it was lunch time and I was still in my pj's :rotfl: you only get babies for such a fleeting amount of time. You've got years to be dressed everyday ;)

    Good Evening :hello:

    greenbee - lovely to see you. MrS had the marinated tofu, but I've not seen the smoked. Mmm, I will have a look next time I'm in the big MrW in the city across the way. I wondered if you were away with work, as I've not *seen* you in a while. Thank you for making the time to drop into mine. I know you're a busy gal :D

    Cheery & starnac - thank you for being so supportive. Actually, you're right about celebrating getting dressed. The first time Baby Greying had a melt-down that lasted all day and I didn't get out of my PJ's, I felt really rotten. Getting dressed is normal. But also, not a priority..... unless you need to go shopping to a certain supermercado on the outskirts of a certain capital city....... eh star? ;)

    Cheery - surprise, surprise the greengrocers didn't have that brand of tofu - they only stock the one that is in all the supermarkets..... for a lot less money it has to be said...... But I'll look out for it, as I am now intrigued, and I'll definitely look in mrW next time we're abroad in the big city. I'll have a look at that MO company too.......

    So progress has been made today. Jobs have been completed. We've had family time and we had 'us tea'. All round a bit of a win I'd say :D

    I was thinking as I was making tea, that I use cooking like some people use, say running, or meditating or walking. I've got a conundrum to sort out at the minute. I need to do something, but I'm putting myself off - plus its a blooming faff and onerous. I couldn't get started today. But whilst i was 'lost' in chopping and stirring and mixing, a few thoughts came together and I feel ready to tackle the task. OK, so running would probably be better for my health, but cooking works, so hey.......... :D

    Anyway, I wanted to use up some of the puff pastry that I got from h3ron f00ds at 3 for £1 (please don't complain to me if you've not got one of these marvellous shops where you live - write to the management and have them open a branch in your city!). So I made some little 'pasties' using red kidney beans (crushed), mixed peppers (frozen and good value at 2 for £1 for ..... 600g bags i think), a few mushrooms, an onion, some garlic....... The mix was like i make for veggie burgers or 'sausages', but wrapped up in pastry instead. I put yoghurt on the top and lathered it on a bit too liberally, so no they are not burnt - it's just there was too much yoghurt on. Neither did i top the pasties with marmite, which it looks like too......... *sigh* - never gonna win a beauty pageant, my tea......... :( I teamed them with some grated carrot, lettuce leaves (living salad, bought in mrS yesterday), and potato & tomato salad which is a recipe from Arto Der Haroutunian's veggie middle-eastern book - and I can't find it on the net anywhere. It is a turkish/Armenian recipe. But basically, if you had tomatoes and potatoes and put them in a garlic, lemon & olive oil dressing, you'd have the recipe. Picture;

    Although it was rather too hot to have the oven on, it really was a yum tea :D And it's got my grey matter working on the conundrum too - so win/win :D

    Today I am grateful for these 3 things;

    - for DH's hard work :D

    - for a push from a supporter on the sidelines to at least get started on an onerous task - i needed it :D

    - for dropping on some *big brand* t-shirts, for DH, for a fiver each. He'll look in keeping and the bank wasn't broken (and yes, they were for *best* - you don't think I'd spend that much on a t-shirt normally, do you??? :rotfl:)

    Thank you for popping in and joining in. It is appreciated. Always.
