What a treat it is to read your diary again, GP, so glad you got a meal made for you and the chance to eat it in peace. (also relieved on the nappy front!). I look after my DGN every Tuesday, as DN has gone back to work, so l understand well the balance the baby, eat the dinner, cold potatoes, cold sprouts.... yum? .

Good Morning :hello:
Sorry that i have been missing in action again, especially when so many people have taken the time to visit, and kind folk have taken the time to comment. Rest assured i have not had me feet up on the sofa, scoffing chocs and sipping lemonade. It has been a full-on couple of days...................... Oh dear, there-in lies a tale I think
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Luckily one involving DH for the most part :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:NoOneAround wrote: »

And I am sure that there was no connection between *norty*, the carrots and a baby............. As I seem to recall, I saw *nothing* - until you pointed it out!:D
I'm sure you're a busy lady Piq, but I rather hope you can stick around these here parts a while? Totally understand if this is a 'flying' visit though. Thank you for popping in - know that there won't just be me delighted to know that you are safe and well
Thank you Eager_Elephant for making contact with Piq - so totally appreciated
Ah, well. The weekend was a blur of activity. But pleased to say that all went well and it was lovely to see the rellies from afar and they were delighted to meet Baby Greying - who was passed around and cwtched the entire timeI'm sure we are like many families in that the balance of family meet-ups has moved away from 18/21st birthday parties and weddings to ....... funerals....... So it was very nice to be able to gather together in the sunshine for something nice. The food got scoffed, although there was too much. I have to say, that although plenty of meat was included, the vegetarian options were far more popular. And this was amongst die-hard meat-eaters. Still, at least there was plenty for DH & I - I've lost count of the number of parties that I have been to where the veggie food has been hoovered up by the meat-eaters and there has been nothing left to eat for the non-meat eaters
Thankfully DH is off for a few days now, so we can recover from the weekend together! Today has already been a relatively slow start...
I have no idea what we'll eat today, although sandwiches will definitely be on the agenda, we have enough bread to last a week (DH got the wrong sort for *posh* sandwiches) but no room in the freezer to freeze it.
Right, I best go and shift a tail-feather, chores to attend to

Yes, lots of cwtching and many, many sws mawrs too! (probably spelt that wrong, but you get the phonetic jist
) Luckily, it was a dry day, so Baby Greying didn't shrink
:rotfl: Hope it's pavement splitting sunshine with you star
Well, I'm tatting about and trying to tidy as I go - it's a big jobNeeds doing
But I feel better with each square inch of space that becomes clear as I go along
:rotfl:
We had... sandwiches for lunch. Cheese and tommy if you're interestedWish we had some salady bits for us tea...... mmmm, will have to see what i can conjour up out of the bits I have, along with the last HG lettuce that we were given. Don't think it'll be very exciting, but we'll have to see
Right, better set to and do a bit more

Spelt perfectlyIf there is one thing in the Welsh language's favour it is its phonetic spelling
Ooh I had salad for lunch. Not HG unfortunately. The greenhouse is coming on but not quite enough to eat from yet. We were very late getting started this year to my dismay.
Yay for tidying as you go. Always the best way to go about it.Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Good Evening :hello:
Phew! Has it been hot with you too? Mind, the end of half-term was the cue for the weather to improve I guess. Wonder how many young people were sweltering in exam rooms today.
Well I achieved something with my tidying. It is by no means finished - not by a long way, but I'm apt to try to actually find a home for everything I move, or move it to it's home or bin/recycle/put it in the log burner 'starting' basket. DH is much more apt to move stuff from pillar to post - out of sight, out of mind type thing. Until you try to get into whichever room has become the current dumping ground du jour..... :rotfl:
I made a 'crustless quiche' for us tea. Feta, red pepper and butter bean. A sort of mixed up combo. I blitzed the butter beans with the stick blender, to make a paste and then combined it in with the other ingredients. I made a version of the potato salad from the 'Meat Free Monday' book, but used green beans rather than red peppers, as they were in the quiche. I also made a quick tomato salad with a bit of vinagrette. Splodge the freshly washed HG lettuce on the plate and voila! Us tea. And star - we're only eating HG because someone else grew it
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
- that my freezer 'tetris 10 minutes' worked and the bread was frozen, as I can't abide waste.
- for 3 square inches more space due to my tidying up endeavours....:rotfl:
- for a walk in the sunshine, whilst DH looked after BG - sometimes you just need a few minutes to yourself
Thanks for popping in, reading and commenting. You know that I appreciate itThank you.
