can you go back to a EE shop and exchange for another 1 or did you buy it by phoning EE direct and it was delivered by delivery company to your property

bought in store, but they just gave me sony phone number and wont do anything else, when i took the first replacement into the store without a back i was told you could still use it without a back ( so it will be fine to have the sim exposed and use the phone in my pocket with a back) I DONT THINK SO. i paid for a full phone and as yet this is day 10 and still no working phone.

I am thinking are they messing me about over the 14 days and they they will say too late the change the 14 days are up
  • 1, when I buy phones last year in tesco they normally open up and check the phone in front of me

    2. what you could do if you can get another phone then break the seal on the box in front of them and check everything is there

3, maybe theres a bad batch of E3 phones in the shop you went to or if the seal was broken then its a returned faulty phone from previous customer so maybe go for a different model phone

4 theres alot of grey area regarding buying these days ie everyone knows you get a 1 year garantee on all products but some shops say "we are just the selling agent , you have to contact the manufacturer " other people say print of the document from the consumer rights website ( I dont know which one ) and go in the shop and show them and then the shop backs down and gives refund or replacement

well the phone i got instore was opened instore as the sales assistant put my orange contract sim in the phone and it had 57% charge, so i set the phone up it was once it discharged and i tried to charge it up when it failed. i then handed this to a courier who brought the replacement, but that replaced phone had no back. it was the exec office who arrange a courier bring the phone i current have which charges to 90% then discharges to 20% in less than 2 hrs when just sitting on my desk which me even setting it up

maybe, but it does not help me figure out my next move
  • EE sound like they do not care and saying that the other phone companys are probably just as bad but I think the EE shop you went into should have taken your phone and given you a new one but maybe there policy is to do the courier collect and deliver hassle service

it was only after calling their CS in who know which country and trying to get my point across to the call centre staff that they agreed to send replacement which was incomplete.

when i spoke on phone to their exec dept. he was surprised the shop only gave me the sony phone number the day after i purchased the phone, but still i am without a working phone for 10 days while s till paying my contract payment for this month.

Just one thing, with a "new" lithium based battery, you should always charge them before use. By letting it discharge, like you did, and then charging - you will lower the lifetime of the battery. What you did was the right thing to do for a nicad or nimh battery but they haven't been around for some time

In regular use its best not to discharge below about 15% too often and not overcharge (your handset will do the latter automatically if you leave it on charge and you will see the charge drop to around 98% and then start charging again)

With regard to Sony handsets, the symptoms you are getting are consistent with the firmware believing there is a boot problem, so it automatically discharges the battery to prevent overheating. Sounds like a dodgy batch.

If its over 50% then you can use them, it is advised if 25% or less than they need a full charge. i was told this a few years back by a samsung engineer

wrong it is advised to let the battery discharge to 0% as often as possible

That just shows how wrong your information is .
0% can potentially kill the battery in that it fails to recharge .
