Used 3p roadkill to knock down my shopping spend today. Ok so not a huge impact but I don't remember the last time I didn't manage to bring my shopping down by a few pennies. Which as we all know, make pounds" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Natluv I think we should be reading your thread on wombling not mine, you sound like you have it down! Do you track your finds?
Im on various DFW challenges and have a diary so loosly track it on there. There are others that put me to shame, especially on the Elite thread!

Hi All
I am going to keep track from Jan 1st on the value I find in the main categories ...
Love to hear from others doing similar.

Hi Bob
Very happy to find this thread, we've been wombling for years (like Nat I have a fellow and a deputy wombler) but have this year decided to keep track of how much we womble.
We mainly only womble Tesco Receipts and occasionally McDonalds Coffee beans, pick up any road kill (no shame in free money) and ... well I think that's it.
We live in a smallish town so not often masses to be found and DH was actually refused in one Tesco nearby when he tried to add two receipts from the same date - so we steer clear of that one now! There's one nearer where the staff really don't mind adding any amount of receipts if they're empty, although we try and only add three or four at a time.
Anyway enough rambling, had 21points added today and have another 76 on various receipts in my purse but am only going to count them once added
Thanks for the thread, will have a look for yours too Nat.0 -
Hi Bob
Loving the thread, I always pick the trolley with receipts left in for this reason, when price match was at its height I got several pounds off at Sainsbobs and Mr. T.0 -
My DS is turning 11 and has the saving bug, he scours the supermarket floors looking for money and in the space of a 5 minute trip he had found £1.60! He said the best spots are by the coin converter unit and at the end of tills.
I said he shouldn't tell anyone about it in case all his friends think he's odd, so it's good to know there's other deputies out there

My DS will be 11 this year and is a great, if not at all subtle, wombler

Yeah it's awesome having a 6 year old. I imagine Fagan said similarmine has already got an expression for looking for coins 'putting on his shiny eyes' & has nicknamed himself The Bargain Avenger because he sees all the good YS stuff before me half the time. Oh the low life

Elite thread is on the Gone But Not Forgotten part of Grabbit thread.
My DS isnt ashamed to pick up money anymore, his friends threw loads of pennies in the playground and he walked around collecting them all. He was so proud when he came home and put it all in his money box! His dad is silly with money, he gave my DS £10 to get a list of items from the shop and told him to keep the change, but my DS is a chip of the ol' block and picked up the cheapest items possible and came away with all the items plus £7 in kept change£20k in 2023 = £2718 £2023 in 2023 = £196.41 Grocery challenge £250= £195.80 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**0 -
Sounds fascinating. Sorry to keep on but is that in debt free wannabee or old style?
Your son has it down I'd say. Now if only we can steer these boys away from the peer pressure trap that is teenage life they'll have it made" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D
