Thank you Ziggy. I wouldn't have become this frugal without the small things thread which I always consider my MSE home :)

  • Well thanks to this thread I have begun my wombling journey. Asda price match vouchers £2.57 and tonight having a tidy around the house have found bits of lose change which will go in my sealed pot once I have had chance to count it. :)

How is everyone else's wombling doing?

Great start to the year womblers

My OH is pretty sick but enjoys a couple of dessert pies and a frothy coffee at McD's which is cheaper than the hospital caff and open better hours, so we had a trip there on NYE - as my friend said 'we know how to party!':rotfl:
Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.

Im a self confessed wombler! I also have a Chief Wombler (DS) and Deputy Wombler (DD) and they both help massively. Whatever receipts (asda/tesco) they find under £1, they keep, anything over goes toward the grocery bill so its a great incentive for them to want to help. My DS is turning 11 and has the saving bug, he scours the supermarket floors looking for money and in the space of a 5 minute trip he had found £1.60! He said the best spots are by the coin converter unit and at the end of tills.

I've found flour, magazines, clothes, cards and a bunch of flowers in trolleys before, not very honest of me :o I always try and womble something, I'll park as far as I can from the supermarket doors and take the long route to and from the car! I've been known to stop the car to get a long and inviting receipt lying on the floor...

Best of luck for the year!
    £20k in 2023 = £2718 £2023 in 2023 = £196.41 Grocery challenge £250= £195.80 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**

Sorry to hear your OH is ill. Being in hospital is not a nice experience and especially at Christmas I'd guess. Glad you managed a bit of quality time together doesn't matter where it ends up being does it.
