You'd love it where I live, there are 3 large country estates within 20 miles, all of whom breed pheasant.
They are not the smartest of creatures, and the roads are strewn with dead birds, I would not pick one up unless I`d seen it been hit, or was a very recent kill, feathers everywhere etc.

It is an acquired taste for some people, but they are plentiful round here.;)

Sourcrates I'm a country girl too. I have eaten most things at some point. I like pheasant, more than venison for example which I find very funny smelling. I agree with you I'd shy away from picking up anything that I hadn't seen killed.

    Hi Fatavril
Sure GC is Grocery Challenge. It's a really good challenge to join in with & can be found in the Old Style section of the board. You set a target for the month and then report your actual spends up to the end of the challenge. Lots of great ideas on there for using up leftovers, a huge index of recipes, & supportive people helping each other keep on track.
    Hope you find it ok.

    Hi All
Today I went to sains & added on 52 found points which is worth £0.26 at present total points now worth £1.98 when I get to £10 I will move another £10 to pay off my credit card & use the points to pay for my shopping instead.
Cold day out & where it's been wet there wasn't any new reciepts today they've probably all been shredded by the elements.

Slim pickings today. May be the fact London is the emptiest I've seen it ever (well since last Christmas anyway) or the fact the retail park doesn't start trading till 11 & that was roughly when our walk took us by there. Anyway today's wins
    1. 1p
    2. 1 mcdonalds cup with bean still attached.
    3. One Tesco reciept with 23 points to claim.
    4. One double nectar points coupon.

Someone asked what else you can womble & I forgot to mention finding things you can sell on ebay. My best example of this was in the summer some students were moving out of a house near to us. Instead of moving all their stuff with them they had a street clothes give away. There was loads there and they were asking people to help get rid of it. Not selling it. I picked up a pair of size 5 converse. Too small for me but I sold them for £15 on ebay so an excellent street find. I suppose that would be a tip I'd give, just because you don't want it, could you sell it easily?

  • Now I understand the receipt thing, I was looking around like a crazy person when i was out ...but didn't find anything...yet. Will keep it up though. I'm saving Tesco points for a Eurotunnel crossing for this summer's hols, and if I could add to that I would be over the moon. Especially as I don't shop at Ts too often.

Did find 2p though so it got added to my change jar.

I save Boots and Waterstones points so will look out for those too.

Good luck that's a good goal to have on your trip. I wonder if there are other ways you could get your trip cheaper? Booking it via a cash back site, cash back credit card etc?

    Hi Bob

Loving the thread, I always pick the trolley with receipts left in for this reason, when price match was at its height I got several pounds off at Sainsbobs and Mr. T. Never thought of it as wombling, in fact I worried in case I was doing something bad.

Often see McD cups about, hadn't thought about retrieving the token, nice to know others pick up rubbish too
