Hi all.
Thanks for the wonderful toast pictures. Cheese on toast sounds great. I must get DH to follow up on the toaster he sent back. He thinks he bought it from a Dell Boy via Amazon! Old stock.
Today was a very mild bright day here.
DH had hospital appointment this afternoon. Good news he's been signed off. After cardiac surgery you are treated by your GP.
It was interesting to see the new helicopter pad being built on top of one of the King's buildings.
Instead of getting the train straight home we went to Dulwich to look at the shops. They had a smart carpet shop we went in to ask about a runner for the hall. Young man said he had some off cuts I could put on wooden floor over winter. I impulse bought a roll of beige carpet 1m by 3m for £20. Then had to carry it home on the bus at school going home time!
On way home DH said I should have haggled.
Ho Wingo and Alfie we are coffee drinkers too.
I've been very lucky this year with the comps but have read loads of comments from people not winning. Most wins I have had have been from single entries. There are definitely a lot of entries for most comps even when it's only one entry per person.0 -
Oh I didn't know sprinkle was closing Sheils. I've entered a couple on there when I remember. The wine was a great win for you :T It's nice when you get unexpected wins as it gives you the urge to continue comping
Great bargain you got with the carpet leanfun :T It can be quite expensive even for runners. That's great news your DH has been signed off now to the doctors.Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -
Had to laugh at thought of you on a bus with a carpet leanfun!

Really don't know how to say this.
DH just went out to buy Chinese. Came back in with a parcel. It had been left on door step. When we came home with carpet it was already dark so we didn't see it.
I've won a book for one of Laks comps.

Well done on the win leanfun :j Does your Postie always leave your parcels on the doorstep? I wouldn't dare leave a wheelie bin on our front for long as it would get nicked! I bet you had some funny looks on the bus with the rolled up carpet! You should have turned to DH and said..."where shall we bury the body?"
That would have turned heads!
Sheils, have you got the force of hurricane Abigail up your way? I saw that Scotland would be affected by bad weather. Hope it's ok and doesn't do any damage. It's raining heavy here and roof leaking.Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -

Good Morning,
Didn't realise it was Friday 13th until I saw your post Alfie. Don't usually worry about it although I know DD makes a fuss about it. Maybe she won't realise today.
Sounds a bit windy out although I didn't hear much last night. Haven't heard the news to see what has been happening further north.
Hope everyone has a lucky Friday, even though it is the 13th!
