Thanks everyone for the good luck messages. Went to view the house today. It is a big project but we both love it. Showed the details to my mum and DH's older brother (and his wife). Both are usually the ones who point out the negatives (even the obvious lol but we appreciate their honesty and experience) and both said "Wow, go for it!"
Unfortunately lots of other people love it too- lots of viewers! They have had some offers already, including a couple above the asking price, but from people who have yet to receive an offer on their own properties so not accepted. It looks like it will go to sealed bids. Seen this on "location, location" but never in real life. So will need "luck and judgement" to quote my DH today. Feel sick thinking about it tbh. When are Kirstie and Phil when we need them lol. Either everything will fall into place or it won't, some things are meant to be and some aren't..... but we will be gutted if we don't get it.

JJ, I admire your positivity in all your posts, sorry to hear of your infection, hope you continue to get well x
    Happy Birthday Crowdpleaser! :D

    Interesting thing with lottery tickets.
I follow a young disabled athlete (Rhys Jones) who is also one of my FB friends, as is his Mum. When Rhys won a bronze medal at the European Athletics Championships he made a special point of thanking those who did the lottery. I thought I'd show support by giving it a go online. I've bought tickets in the past religiously and barely won a thing.
I put £2 on each draw for the lottery and Euromillions: Tue, Wed, Fri and Sat. As it is done online I don't think about it and don't check anything.
Since I started at the end of October I have won five small Euromillions prizes and one £25 lottery prize, all discovered when I got an email. There is a lovely frisson of excitement with the knowledge that I have won something and so what if I win nothing most weeks? I'm giving a few bob to worthy charities. (and I try and ignore the fact that I'm boosting fat cats coffers!)
All supplied with Christmas paper for this year, and cards too, for next to nothing.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
  • Junior well done on catching up! I know that you must have told us but i'm sorry I can't remember - what degree are you doing again? I'd like to think one day I could achieve a degree, one of my biggest regrets was not going to university. I like the idea you have of planning some treats for your goddaughters!

CHRISSYG yay for your win! It may not be big but at least you have earned some of your money back.
freespirit i'm so glad to hear that most of your frozen food was ok, it's a horrible waste otherwise. Bless your DGS I bet he's spoiled with hugs! :) My mum is coming to stay for a few days this week, I think she loves coming to visit now. Enjoy your afternoon tea - that is one of my most favourite things in the world!

Fluffysox i'm keeping everything crossed for you. Buying a house is such a huge thing as it will be your home, and if you're anything like me when you find one you love you mentally move in even though it's not yours yet! I know I shouldn't but I just can't help it.

mcculloch thanks for the lottery and charity reminder, I play the lottery weekly and sometimes I think i'm wasting my money, I do forget that a large chunk also goes to charity so i'm not so worried now!

:bdaycake: Happy belated birthday crowdpleaser! _party_

Well we've had a lovely weekend with some quality family time. Wiggle was amazing and 'allowed' us to eat out twice with no incident! It used to be easier to eat out as he slept the whole time, but now he's always awake, but he is such a good boy. We went to a Harvester for breakfast on Saturday, I haven't been to one in years but it was ideal as it was a buffet continental breakfast and hot food cooked to order, so we could eat our hot food at alternate times and each look after wiggle. Then yesterday we braved it and went out for Sunday lunch, he played happily in his buggy whilst we ate our main then we had him on our laps whilst we ate our pudding. It's funny because I worry about him crying when we go out, but totally forget about the high pitched screeching he's started doing now he's found his voice! We find it cute and funny, not sure if other people did or not! :o What will be nice is we're going to started weaning in February so when we go out in the future he'll be able to sit in a highchair at the table with us, that will be lovely - if not a bit messy! :p
  • morning, a new week, all ready to be trashed by yours truly. Already found a fence panel (not mine) in the garden. So l will see if l can identify its provenance and get it returned.
Got another present yesterday for the stash, a bamboo steamer thingy for Chinese dim sum and dumplings, my fave neice will love it. (especially if l give it to her husband and get her something girly!)
I need to start the list, and only buy to the needs, rather than the previous year when it has been a bit of a lottery who got what.
Still on the lookout for gift tags, but not desperate. xxx
  • My word, some of you have had a bad time, hope things going in right direction now.

Sorry to see you were back in hospital Jess, but well done on catching up study wise, I need to get my mojo back into gear, back at class tonight and I have I done anything? Have I hell!

Busy but productive weekend, got the oven cleaned, hate this job with a passion. Collected jacket from Debenhams for godson, chuffed at my bargain, he better like it! Did so much washing, but all ironed also, so that out of the way, started putting away next Christmas gifts, may even get them out and wrap, not decided yet. Finally unpacked, so all of that put away also.

DB came for a coffee and to collect the lumps of timber I brought back from home. He has old hospital clocks so wanted something he could use to display them, saw some old timber when he was home so muggins had to get my uncle to cut it into pieces & take it back with me, in fairness, they are beautiful seasoned pieces about 18" - 2' wide, he is thrilled.

Had a call from sister, she was looking for details for a hotel as she will be doing a karate course and grading for her 5th Dan, had no choice but tell her she could stay with me, then discovered it is for 3 days. She is unbelievably hard work and as she has a psychology degree, she is always analysing what we say, we cannot relax. DB thinks it is hilarious and my mum said at least she will be out for most of it .

Danielle – I love the santa with sweeties, I may just have to borrow this idea (if I ever remember it this year!!)
MrsM – Well at least you know you have plenty of stock ;)
Nic – Ignore them, sometimes I think it can come across how it wasn’t meant (if that makes sense?) I’m sure you are doing just fine!! There is so much information out there with regards to eating/slimming and everyone has their own opinion of how it ‘’should’’ be done, hugs!! Well done for sorting with CAB and getting things underway there too!
Chrissy – YESSS I get a little addicted watching OCCleaners (I wish my house was half as clean/tidy all the time :rotfl: ) The women licking her toilet though – bit far really, I too feel a little bit sick when I see it!
Fluffysox – I have my fingers crossed for you!!
Princesskitty – Sounds like a lovely family weekend. Glad that little one was good whilst you were out too!
JJ – Well done you for keeping up with all your study amongst everything else, you really are superwomen!!

Happy birthday for those I have missed!!!!

My apologies for being a little AWOL, between works new system, wedding planning, catching up on work in the office at home and general housework I have not had much time! Thing's are slowly calming down at work and the office at home is more up-to speed again now so I should hopefully be resuming back to almost normal :p
I literally have done nothing Christmas wise other than pack stuff away, and at that I would like a couple of new large boxes to sort stuff in neater. I do envisage that another month and work will really start dropping off quiet as head office start taking on more things in the run up to us leaving in June, so I'll have plenty of time for looking Christmas wise then. If I remember will try and look at the xmas puds and bits in Aldi and if any have good dates on will pick up something for some hampers.

Wedding plans are in full swing now and I have a lovely organised folder with everything being popped in :D I still don't think it has sunk in that in 7months and 30days I marry my best friend :j

    Hugs all round xx
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

  • For those who have Costco cards, have any of you used their own brand liquid washing tabs, you know the ones you bung in the machine with the clothes?

Bought a box last week, then realised I have more of my Bold left in the box than I thought, so it may be a while before I actually use them.

Why can't these so called professionals realise how their actions can affect people with Autism.

DD was supposed to be helping in the interview process for a new member of the mental health team tomorrow. I rang them as the letter was a little light on details [ie what time the taxi was to arrive] only to be told the plans had changed [in quite a bit way] and would she still be ok with it ???

Let me think:mad::mad::mad::mad: changing something last minute + Autism not know to be a good combination. Needless to say DD won't be going now.
