  • Morning all
    Hope everyone is well
Glad the pin was useful, I saw plastic cups in red and mustardy yellow in tesco on the seasonal/ reduced aisle on Saturday that would be good for those, £1 a pack.
Did quite a bit on the stocking over the weekend top half of picture is now done but lots of detail and colour changes in the foot part so less than half way with it, I think it will take at least another 6 weeks of intensive stitching. Plan to get all mums, bros and sisters pressies done and wrapped by half term so I can take them over my mums. That will also include nieces 18th and bro and sisters birthday pressies as they are all around chiristmas. Really planning that from a selfish point of view as it will clear so much space in my stash cupboard.
    Have a good day all

  • Freespirit, 2 hours, wow, well done you!! glad you got it done? I bet it looks really great. I was out on the front garden yesterday, too, nothing so dramatic as yours tho, and l think l have a blocked drainpipe so will investigate it today when l get back from DDs.
She is like you, Feisty, she said she felt so guilty that I and her SIL were decorating her house and she couldn't help much, but we told her we were doing it because we wanted to, and just to keep the coffee coming. lt was tough tho, as l was feeling guilty that she couldn't help because of her disability being inherited from her dad, and her SIL was feeling guilty because she didn't decorate it when her brother was still alive, so we had a 'guiltfest' and creambuns.
Have also been looking on the Matalan website, and am impressed with their stuff, l feel a visit coming on, (no..no...no.....noooooooooooooooo) oh, well, then, yes!
Have a good week everyone hope the sunshine lasts.xx

Wow freespirit 2 hours is very good going well done you!! Bet you felt good after it was done and hope you had a well deserved cuppa haha.
mrs-moneypenny well done on the stitching and good luck with the last part! Like the plan of having the pressies done to clear space.

God isn't it cold today and meant to rain definitely feels like autumn. I'm going to book a week of work in November and use it to finish any shopping and possibly start wrapping too!!
Hope you all have a good day!
    Xx

No, I didn't, but I think I feel a trip in there later on this week. I am back at class tonight, so this evening out of the question.
A smile costs little but creates much :)

  • Hi,

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Moneymission - If you are on Quidco, etsy are now on there so that might help if you become too addicted like me :)

Peppapig - I'm quite lucky as my friend is just as Christmas mad as me (in fact she starts even earlier with presents than I do). Hope your Christmas themed night is lots of fun if you end up doing one.

DomRavioli - The soaps are a couple of inches in size. Perfect as stocking fillers or attached to gift tags on presents etc. I noticed that there are a variety on that particular etsy store including gingerbread men soaps.

Freespirit - Hope that cold is starting to clear up properly this time :)

Starlet - Sports direct have Barcelona FC scarves for £2.75 as well as other kit items.

The only Christmassy thing I did over the weekend was I noticed some 'workers' hand cream on the till at Wickes and picked it up for my dad who is a joiner but that's about it.

Thanks Cherry, I am on Quidco and Topcashback but tend to use Topcashback more.

I ordered a few things from Matalan Christmas range last night & also set up some email reminders for some of the items that aren't yet in stock. They have some lovely things. I was going to get hat, scarf and gloves for my sisters but I would prefer to go in and have a look at them before I buy, so I might try and pop to the one close to my office today. If I can get them then that means my sisters are finished :j

I've come up with a few ideas for my niece now too. She is 7, she'll be 8 before Christmas, but she's quite an old 7 so it's quite difficult knowing what to get her as she's not really in to the same things that my daughter and her friends are in to, even though they're the same age. So for her I'm going to do a Girls Night In hamper. It's only her and my sister and I know they love their nights in together so I'm going to get her a DVD, board game or card game, bubble bath, sweets, crisps, slippers and some craft packs because I know they are always doing craft activities.

I also ordered some things for my eldest daughter and have some ideas for other presents for her.

My vouchers are really stacking up now. I have over £500 in various vouchers, from cashback, surveys etc over the year. This, along with the savings I've got in my account, will be plenty to get the majority of my Christmas shopping done, especially because I've been getting things throughout the year. I'm so glad I've been more organised this year!

I've been really enjoying coming up with all these ideas and as much as I'm looking forward to giving everybody their gifts, I think I'll miss all the prep work and the run up. But I suppose now that I am more organised I can just start again in January :rotfl:

Hi not been on in a while I've bought a fair few presents now waiting for the Argos 3 for 2 does anyone know when it starts?

    Decided to have a December 1st hamper for my kids this year as well as he normal Xmas eve hamper I was thinking of putting in the December 1st hamper;
Xmas bedding, advent calendars, tub of sweets, a letter to Santa. Can anyone think of anything else they'd need before their Xmas eve hamper?

I'm looking forward to Xmas loads more this year because both my kids will know what is happening they are 4 in nov and 2 years old

    Happy Xmas planning all x
Wishing everyone the best of luck for 2020 ☘️

Hi doodygirl, what about a book they can read throughout December or maybe some Christmas activity books or crafts? They could make a present throughout December that they then give to Santa or give to a family member. A Christmas jumper or outfit if they are likely to have any Christmas parties.

Just asked my friend who works in Argos and she said the 3 for 2 is sometime this month but they haven't been given the date yet, so I'm guessing they'll have it towards the end of the month just when people get paid.

Thanks they haven't got any parties to go to. I do have a Xmas eve buffet planned for us and my parents which we do every year. Also Xmas baking with the kids and Santa goes down our street on his sleigh the week before Xmas which is lovely. I will have a look around eBay/Amazon for some Christmas activities thank you
