Hi everyone, currently on the ferry to France. DH paid for the internet on here and still got some minutes left.

Could have turned into an expensive 'do'. Picked up some bits for Christmas in the duty free shop, like to get the cheaper and more unusual bits like sweets etc. Total cost was rung in at £60. Thought I'd gone a bit made, but not that much so made her check it and it had been over-rung by more than £20 due to a price check that hadn't been cleared before she'd started ringing my goods in. Phew!

Kids then wanted an overpriced, frappucino from the starbucks onboard. Refused to buy them as I'd got them both a soft drink before heading to shops. So, they said they'd buy their own, only they only had euros for spending money! DS came back with very little change, went to query it and it costs a fortune to pay in euros- on top of how expensive they are anyway. DD who was still beign served looked upset when she learnt this and said she didn't want hers, but it had already been poured. Anyway the barman who I was querying the price with and if it had been explained to ds, then said she could have it for free. :T We said she had to split the money she'd saved with her brother, but DH went on to win a couple of pounds at the machines so said he'd put him back to where he started with his holiday money. Hopefully they have learnt a lesson. ;)

Evening everyone, ooh Thumper is being a right wotsit with his food atm :D he is being a little terror, but it makes me giggle because of the faces he pulls you would think i was trying to poison him, he screws his eyes up, shakes his head and puts his forearm over his mouth :rotfl::rotfl:different when it comes to yogurt though straight down, i tried him with sugar free jelly today and he absolutely loved it!

MRSMONEYPENNY oh your holiday sounds lovely with most of the family, 4 months already?? bless him. Yes i cant wait for Carole Matthews and Trisha Ashleys new books i still have Wrapped Up For Christmas to read yet, its never too early to start on christmas stories i have read a few this year :D:D

LINZ oh bless him its heartbreaking isnt it when they cant tell you whats wrong, DGS still isnt right and DD2 cooks him beautiful food with veg, he has fruit, and only drinks water and on horrible meds and still struggles, i have literally had him screaming in my arms rigid with pain with it. Thing is i know how she feels because i went through it with her when she was a baby its so upsetting

MANDCO ooh thankyou i must write a list of who i need them for

SPENDLESS oh blimey thats awful, good job you were on the ball! Poor kids i know it is a good lesson learnt but they get really upset dont they? I hope the rest of your holiday gets better :)

AMEY hello and welcome back, you dont need to apologise my lovely, RL happens and gets in the way sometimes, hope you are well!

Good morning, from an extra achey mrs. l . My own fault so no sympathy. I laid a carpet in DDs spare bedroom yesterday, from the leftovers from stairs and bedrooms done by the professionals. It had to go down in 3 pieces, but looks fine now. Unfortunately l don't! Still that's it, all floors covered, all walls decorated, all windows curtained, and not a cross word between us!!
Now l can think about Christmas, M&S shortbread is a hamper staple for me, so l will keep an eye out for the halfprice offer.
Haircuts this afternoon for the 3 of us, and a couple of trips to the tip with rubbish, (l know how to have a good time, eh?) then start to empty the summer bedding pots and get the garden tidied for winter. First, though, a lot of coffe and some thing to get the joints moving.

    Hi All,

Just wanted to post a quick post about a few bargains that may help people. Daughter wants the Baby Born doctors bed for her doll at it it £29.99 at The Entertainer. The cheapest I have seen it is £13.99 on ebay. Walked into Home bargains and it was there on the shelf for £7.99!! It is now upstairs in the christmas stash.
Also argos had a nerf style gun set reduced from £19.99 to £7.99 and a bracelet making kit reduced to £2.99.
Just going to have a quick look at the half price toy sale at argos now online. The dolphin teddy I ordered from Build a Bear came yesterday. Its also a puppet so she will LOVE it! Am actually quite organised and have started to plan out daily elf activities, and want to do some family advent activities too. Every day we are going to do a family activity together, got the idea off Organised christmas, if anybody is interested please let me know and I will gladly share ideas xx SOOO excited!!!!:snow_laug:santa2::xmassmile

Do you regularly have cross words with inanimates? :D

  • linz glad to hear LO is doing better now.

Gettingtherequickly thanks for the update on JJ.

kiwi sorry to hear things have been going a bit wrong for you - what a time you're having! Welcome to Shadow, I hope he's now brought some happiness to you.

Spendless have a great time in France, it sounds like the boat trip was very eventful! Good lesson in financial planning to the children though!

freespirit bless Thumper and his food, they can be little nippers can't they? Wiggle hasn't been fussy with his food yet, in fact he eats everything we give him, although we still have to give it to him in bits or he crams too much in his mouth without chewing anything and then starts to choke on the bits at the back of his throat! He seems to think if he doesn't eat everything on the plate in that instant then it will disappear! :p

mrs-moneypenny it's never too early for festive reading!

mandco thanks for the Card Factory heads up, I like to buy personalised cards from there so will try to pop in.

mrsinvisible check you out - I wouldn't even know where to start with laying a carpet! You sound so busy! I hope you can find some time to put your feet up.

04624181 that's spooky that you mentioned the family advent activities, I was actually going to come on here and ask what ideas everyone had! I'd be grateful if you'd share some of yours. :)

Hi Ameyturtle, long time no hear. I hope everything's ok with you?

I typed 'Christmas' into the search function on Sky the other day and it would appear that Sky movies are starting to show a lot of big Christmas films (or they're in the back catalogue to download) for those who have it.
