  • Hi all

I'm back from our weeks holiday and now we are all in full on Christmas mode. My OH even joked about getting the Christmas decorations down earlier when he was putting our cases back in the attic. He was joking but I know if I had said yes he would have brought them all down for me :rotfl:

I got back to a few deliveries too, one being the Build a Bear order that I placed with the 40% off code. Feels good to know I've got them ordered. We get them every year for our daughters but I have left it to the last minute for the past 3 years so have ended up rushing in to the city centre to buy them, having to queue in the ridiculously long queues in the shop and paying full price for them.

I've also had a few more ideas for my sisters Christmas hampers and have a ten pound voucher for Warehouse so I'm going to see if I can pick up anything in their sale items that I can put away.

So, being in full Christmas mode I am looking forward to X Factor starting tonight. I know lots of people don't watch it anymore, but for me it is my Christmas countdown. I get excited when it's on because I know Christmas is just around the corner.

I hope everybody has had an enjoyable week. I haven't had chance to catch up on the thread yet, this thread moves so quickly so I have a whole week to catch up on!! But first I need to get all the washing done :(

    Xmas Saver!
    Good Evening :D

Yes I've been AWOL for months again. It took me 4 attempts to sign in !

Been very busy here. DD taking AS exams ( she passed) DS got a new job scaffolding. I'm now working more hours. Still having Fingers at the weekend. He is now 2 1/2 going on 40 !

We are going to have a quiet ( cheap) Christmas this year as we are saving to go to Disneyland Paris in March 2017. ( don't know if I mentioned that last time I was on). And we want it all paid off as soon as.
DD has a part time job at Park Tedirt so we have a long weekend booked for next March.

I've been grabbing bits for gifts and stockings as I see them. But I don't have much to buy as we our recipient list a lot smaller last year.

Hope everyone is well xx not long now to the big day. xx

Evening everyone, i went to come on last night and got the message the forums were down, i havent seen any warnings this week i am so oblivious to everything sometimes even if it is right in front of my nose! Well i am out of spare money now until the middle of september so no more christmas bits for me :( i blame this diet blimey it seems to be costing a fortune atm :o

HARIBO oh its lovely to have something lovely to look forward to in the christmas season isnt it?

NEWTHRIFT i hope you got the painting done and finished, not long now, are you all ready?

PEPPAPIG i just had to look up Honey Girl :rotfl::rotfl:ahh they are cute, but what a lot of money!! I love the honey scent thingy :rotfl:I hope DH is well enough to go away it will do you both good to have a break. 17 Fridays :D:D

KAYA me too :) the first week i didnt warm to her but since then i have really come to like her, no i thought star baker for the third week was wrong this week, i think Tamal is getting very looked over and it should have been him

GETTINGTHEREQUICKLY oh no i hope you find a Prince Hans one in time! Ooh you had a lovely spendy time for not many spends :D What was Costco like any christmas bits?

MANDCO thanks for the primark tip i would like some red fleeces this year and everyone seemed to think they were pretty decent last year for the money

MONEYMISSION i hope you had a lovely time away, i think i am very late to the party this is my first BAB purchase ever :o I dont watch X Factor but i know what you mean, for me its Strictly and then definitely IACGMOOH gets me all christmassy as soon as i hear the trailer adverts for that, that is it!

OMO hi lovely to see you back on, congratulations to DD and i hope DS is enjoying his new job, wow Fingers 2 1/2 how quick has that gone??

  • Gettingterequickly it sounds like you had great service at Chas Olsen, isn't it lovely and refreshing when that happens? It also males you far more likely to go in and shop there again. I think the closest one to me is in Reading (about 20 mile away) and I must admit when I've been there I've never been in. I've never really known what kind of shop it was. Will definitely pop in next time i'm near one! Grrr about the Frozen stuff, how frustrating! Sounds like you got a great bargain in Boots though.

msggglewick woohoo for Christmas stock on it's way to the 99p store! :T

freespirit glad to hear Thumper ate his food like a good boy! I have heard it can be quite expensive doing diets sometimes, how's it going? Just remember if you can achieve your goal it will be worth it in the end.

PeppaPig I hope you've managed to go away this weekend and are having a lovely time.

MoneyMission good to see you back, I hope you had a good holiday? It's really satisfying knowing you've already bought stuff isn't it and don't need to get caught up in all the crowds at Christmas.

Hello and welcome Haribo1! I can't believe you have another 9 children to buy for as well as your own! I bet your house looks like Toys R Us at Christmas! :p

Hello OMO!!! Good to see you posting. Well done to your DD for passing her exams and to your DS for getting a new job. It sounds like things are going well in your household. I can't believe Fingers is 2 1/2! You did mention Disneyland last time, great idea and I hope the saving is going well for it.

While I think about it I popped into M&Co yesterday and they had Frozen stuff on sale in the children's section, alas I didn't really look at what it was, I just saw lots of Frozen stuff and lots of sale stickers!

MiL and FiL stayed over last night as my DH and FiL went to watch the rugby at Wembley. It's a lovely treat as I am sat in bed whilst Wiggle is playing with Nanny downstairs - I don't get this very often! We're also extra lucky as DH and I are going to go out for breakfast this morning whilst Wiggle stays with Nanny and Grandad, very excited! And it's good for Wiggle too as he loves hanging out with Nanny and Grandad. :)

I still haven't managed to get much Christmas stuff done, I did buy two tins of mulligatawny soup to start off my auntie's food hamper, however we didn't have much in for lunch one day so I said my DH could have a tin. He's never had it before, he absolutely loved it and then had the other tin another day! So i'm going to have to start again and just hide them from him next time!

Freespirit The kids don't know anything about Gullies so it will be a nice surprise for them when we go. Hoping to fit in a panto and a trip on the Santa train too. My eldest is 13 but he joins in just as much to make it exciting for the youngest 2.

Princesskitty My house used to look like toys r us when the kids were younger but now they are getting older the present piles are shrinking due to the cost of the presents. I'm glad in a way as I don't have to find storage for all the toys anymore lol

Hi , my big news, my big news, my big news........ my niece had her baby last night, a little girl, both well, yippee, yippee, yippee.
My fave Coz is now a grannie, l am a great aunt again, Soooo excited, (although you'd never guess, would you?)
OMO it is great to see you back posting. Well done DD and DS on the new job.
Took DGS last years PE kit round to his friends mam yesterday, as he is going to go to the same school, and is shorter and smaller than DGS and saves his mam a bit . She opened the door and the pup ran out, skidded into a pot plant and tried to '!!!! leg and wee,' but managed to get feet in the way, and kept shaking his paws to get them dry, it had me in stitches.
Now time to attack mount ironmore, and wait for Skype time, then it is out to buy baby girl wrapping paper and grannie card.
