  • Haribo are you in the north west as the rock and roll panto at the everyman is superb.

This year I've tweaked things slightly as shrek is on at the empire at the beginning of December so doing the rock and roll panto for birthday mid January.

I've also just spent a hefty amount in the studio catalogue just now on 2 7foot trees. One replacing a scruffy six foot that I had replaced last year .... but couldn't bear to part with it so had the new one on the living room and the old one in the dining room. Then we have one in the hall that I've replaced with a pencil tree as limited space ... there is going to be murder ... so I've arranged to have it delivered to work. It seemed like a good idea ..

I'm in the Midlands Mojo. Not heard of the rock and rock panto. Sounds good. We're going to the local one this year. Haven't been for a few years so should be a good afternoon out. Might even put a smile on my dhs face. I call him the grinch. He just doesn't understand when it comes to Xmas. I've started playing my Xmas cds to wind him up!
  • have been reading avidly and getting lots of ideas of new things to do, really contemplating doing an elf this year, a friend has did this for her son the last few years and i have loved seeing all the pictures she takes. could possibly incorporate it with my advent activities. will need to have a wee think about it.

just wondered if anyone had any links to relatively inexpensive christmas duvet sets.

MrsI congrats on the new baby

OMO nice to see you back congrats to dd & ds

chocolatebum the only xmas duvets I've seen so far are in primark not sure how much as looked similar to last yrs design so didn't check but they are usually pretty reasonable. I do the elf thing though not every day might do a bit more this yr as taz is old enough to really get into it

Freespirit its hard when they don't seem to want to eat or go through a fussy stage taz used to eat pretty much anything flavour wise aslong as it didn't have lumps in in the end he skipped that stage and went straight to finger foods and even now he only does smooth or regular food he won't eat "lumpy" food like porridge or creamed rice

this summer has flown by its september tomorrow and the kids are going back at school already :( though it does mean I can get a crack on with the xmas planning

not sure what I'm doing xmas cake wise this yr as it only me & taz that eat it I do prefer homemade but seems a waste when I can just buy a cheap mini one. have some mincemeat I brought for 10p a jar in jan :D so need to google some different recipes for using that as again no-one else likes it  sometimes I could swear they aren't mine

I've spent the majority of today going through all 3 plans on organised Christmas :rotfl: None of them alone suits us, so I've printed out the lists for all 3, put them into separate folders and each Sunday I plan on sitting down and pulling that weeks lists out and seeing what will work for me that coming week. That's the joys of working on a 3 week rotation/schedule with work. I get one relatively quiet week, then an absolutely crazy week, then a so-so week depending on how the crazy week went, then repeat :( I'm hoping by doing this I'll be able to combine all 3 into 1 which works for me. We'll have to see :rotfl:

Taking DD shopping tomorrow for some bits. I'm hoping to wander into some stores with her with the intention of getting ideas for gifts for her, 14 is such an awkward age to buy for since she's a "geeky tomboy" (her words!) and I only have 1 so far which I need to check if its still available then get on to my mum as its a perfect gift from my brother. I suspect even though I'm in Liverpool, anyone up in Scotland and down past London will hear me roaring at her by lunchtime over her plodding along, tidying up the shop shelves, and generally driving me nuts. :rotfl:

Evening everyone, i have had a headache today that just wont go, so spent the day in my pjs, doing whatever took my fancy listening to the rain hammer down! I have cleared my christmas cupboard out so its all ready, my shop was delivered today and i forgot i had a voucher for a free bottle of TTD vintage cava worth £9 so that has gone in the fridge ready for christmas dinner, another thing sorted, and a freebie to boot :money:

04624181 i have followed Organised Christmas for a few years now, one year properly and to the letter and the others half a**ed but i do enjoy it, sometimes it fits in with me well and other times just bits here and there help

PRINCESSKITTY i always get my costco christmas bits by the end of October i cant stand it otherwise it gets too busy, i must try and watch it, see if it is on catch up. OMG my lot would love those malteaser and popcorn boxes! Have you tried Nigellas Guinness and Gingerbread cake it is lush, and you can freeze it. I remember you saying about the holiday hotcake i must make that this year

NICKI hi and welcome back, have you decided on your design for your christmas window this year yet? Good luck with DD shopping tomorrow :D i must take a look at the organised christmas sites, i think they start tomorrow dont they?

MONEYMISSION i used to make christmas cakes every year, i started making one for my nan when i was 11 but when she passed away i carried on but only my DS likes it but only a little so every Jan/Feb i would chuck this cake that cost a fortune and i had spent time beautifully icing away  so i decided that was it. I do enough baking for the whole year in the run up to christmas and fill the freezer i love it, but i must admit i prefer making cakes to biscuits

MOJOWORKING haha i love that you have had it delivered to work :rotfl::rotfl:i still havent had this years studio catalogue!

CHOCOLATEBUM i have seen them in Primark and Studio Gift Catalogue last year, one of our lovelies MSGIGGLEWICK runs an elf group on FB called Christmas Elf Antics they have fab ideas on there

MANDCO yes Thumper was really good with most things until lumps, he is fine with texture like Porridge, Sweet Potato, Rice Pudding etc i just hope its not because he has choked and been sick and that has put him off completely! Ah bless your Taz he might have another one join his smooth club :rotfl:

freespirit a freebie is always great but even better when its for xmas.
aww bless him hopefully it hasn't put him off too much and he'll be happy to try again soon. with taz it was such an issue he'd get really upset so I ended up giving him purees and finger foods on the side to suck/chew on figured getting food into him was more important then trying to force him to eat lumps despite what the hv said it never did him any harm

Hi all, just popping in to say I was just browsing the New Look website and found some great boot slippers in the sale:

    http://www.newlook.com/shop/shoe-gallery/view-all-shoes/slippers/_/N-9pzZcap?Ns=sort.price.uk%7C0

Some of them are very Christmassy so would make a great present, they must be last years stock selling off before this years comes in. I think i'm going to buy myself the Fairisle socks to go in our Christmas Eve hamper. Will catch up properly later!
  • Morning all
Hope all are well on this wet and miserable start to the week
Did a couple of Christmas bits, bought a huge carrier bag of Lego for someone for £2! And got a pair of elf slippers for DD2 she will love them!
Made a start on my Christmas cross stitch, well I made a start on Sunday did it all wrong so had to unpick it all and start again. But I've got further so I'm back on track.
I've got loads to get don't for Christmas so think I need to break the day down with blocks of an hour for each type activity so they all at least have a chance of getting done.

Off to chase the boys out of bed for work and school, be back later.
    Have fun
