It' beginning to look a lot like Christmas, well the thread is well and truly flying now ;)
Hi all. Went to comic con in Manchester at the weekend and can't stop smiling. Always thought it was for geeks or weirdos and do you know what - maybe it is but I felt so at home i must be a geek and a weirdo and I'm completely comfortable with that!! Amazing - didn't know what to expect and I'm going back it was superb. Everyone was gorgeous and lovely about asking for photos with them. It's them that made it. The ordinary folk who went to amazing lengths to dress up. So in home bargains this morning they had new selection of notepads and there was an a4 marvel one so I've bought each of the people I went with one for Xmas as a reminder of a fab weekend
They also had cake notebooks and I know a few baking fiends so got some to put away. Plus another 3 bags of coal. Although to be fair it is that miserable I might end up lighting the fire sooner than I think!!!

Love and hugs to all. Think it's 150 days to go to Xmas x

We've been to Londo expo comic con and LOVED it! The second time I dressed as American McGee's Alice and got lots of lovely requests for photo's :)

Well we have good news and bad news in the feisty house. The good news is we should be getting the keys to our house on the 7th August :j the very bad news is my blood test results have come back from America as failed. They couldn't test my DNA in the sample so we have to whizz back to London for a 5 minute blood test. 7 hours of travelling at a huge cost with only a 50% chance that my sample will be testable. 5% of the population can't have their DNA screened in this way and sods law it's me  If it comes back as negative I have to try another private clinic in Cardiff that tests it in a slightly different way. It's going to be another huge bill and I'm kind of worried this one will be a failure too, I could actually cry!

Oh poor you Feisty. You clearly use this name for a reason and it is that which will get you through. Hugs. But congrats on the keys, at least you definitely have something positive to look forward to, who knows, maybe this new stage in your life will push forward more good news for you.

We also went to Comic Con a few years ago in London, although we didn't have as much fun there, mainly because the whole thing was arranged by the in laws and just wasn't very well organised. We were told it would be great and the whole family would love it, but I can tell you now a 4 year old doesn't find Comic Con much fun at all (well our 4 year old didn't anyway). Luckily a trip to Hamleys made the trip a bit more fun for her, so the weekend wasn't completely wasted :T.

Sorry to hear about the bad news with your results Feisty. On a positive note (if there could be one!) is that you might have a trip to Cardiff on the cards. I might be biased as we're from Cardiff, but there is so much going on in Cardiff right now and it has a lot going for it.

Evening everyone, i have been getting jobs done today that have needed doing for ages so have had quite a productive day :) just hope it lasts a bit longer :D

FEISTY good news about picking up the keys, at last. Not very good news about the blood test results but all you can do is just keep going, however hard it is, with whatever test/treatment is required, just think of what could be, it will keep you going my lovely :)

Happy birthday to Starlet1990! :bdaycake: Hope that you have a lovely day.

Hard to believe that we are at the end of July. Where's the time gone?....

I keep thinking this! This year has FLOWN!

I'm off to a pick-your-own farm tomorrow, and looking at the August column of their cropping calendar made me realise we'll be two-thirds of the way through 2015! I'm gazing hopefully at the tick next to the Halloween pumpkins and blue pumpkins in the August column... I'm a Halloween baby, so I'm hoping for an early birthday present ;)

Fiesty congrats on finally getting date for the keys must be a relief to know your nearly there. sorry things didn't go well with the testing fingers crossed its successful this time.

    happy birthday starlet

pugs must be the "in" thing this yr coz they're everywhere primark have a really cute pug wearing a nordic style scarf hot water bottle that dd has her eye on and various pug themed pj's too.

picked up a couple of bit in the argos clearance but no luck with the 3 for 2 on toys as the few things I would have brought were oos everywhere locally which seems to happen everytime :(

anyone else noticed the distinct lack of grabbits this yr? normally I'd have quite a bit by now but there is hardly anything in my stash at the moment.
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk

Having go a nice quiet weekend, usually I am eother working or taking the girls to dance comps. We had a full weekend off as August is a busy month leading up to the world champs for my 9yr old.

This year really is flying in. This is when I start to panic about Christmas. Money mainly or the lack of. Same panic every year. No idea where Christmas dinner will be this year. We have had it here the last 2 years. I enjoy doing it, but fancy a change this year.
