Kaya welcome back! Can I ask what you put in your December hampers? They sound great. I started a Christmas Eve hamper last year but am intrigued by one at the beginning of December. Your bread sounds yummy and a great gift, plus I LOVED those grow your own trees! That's why I love this thread, you always find out about stuff you didn't know was out there!

    Thank you! Of course!

I decided to do it on 1st December because lots of it was things that could be used/ eaten in the run-up to Christmas, and I like to drag the festivities out for as long as possible (hence being on here in July ;) ).

I was very MSE about it - I picked up little bits and pieces in sales through the year so I didn't have to get anything full price in December.

It contained things like some of the Christmassy Yankee Candle votives (bought on eBay with 25% off), several of the little hot choc sachets from a supermarket, a big fluffy throw (bought in a summer sale at a fraction of its original price), a couple of the festive hand sanitisers from Bath & Body Works to protect against winter coughs and colds (you can't get them over here, so I got mine off eBay as well - a few festive ones here), a festive scratchcard, one of the reindeer-named bottles of Coke, some little chocolatey bits, a Christmas colouring book, some decorations (probably also eBay), a DVD (Amazon) and a Winter room spray from The White Company (bought in summer, so also much cheaper than normal, but I did get a funny look when I took that one to the counter in June!)

In fact, I have a picture if anyone's interested:

GTQ thank you, l will try that, but can see problems with getting it on and off, so will practice that.
still need to get case closed and weighed, and need to sort out clothes for journey and for stopover night in shanghai.
So excited l can't think of anything else!!! so my apologies, everyone, but take care of yourselves, good luck with competitions, Christmas preparation, house moves, holidays and families. xxxxx

I'm thinking of taking DS to a Christmas market in Europe, looking for a 1 night stay the weekend before Christmas, does anyone have any personal recommendations. I have been to Bruges & Strasburg but might do a different one too if good reviews.
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

I've heard excellent things about Cologne's Christmas markets, and I know someone who went to Dusseldorf just before Christmas a couple of years ago and had a blast.

I went to Bruges and Lille a couple of years ago, and while I loved Lille, absolutely EVERYTHING that wasn't the Christmas market was shut because we went on a Sunday! Very pretty little town though :)
