Thanks Freespirit - went to South Devon for the week which is a long way from Scotland! It was a long journey but it is not the longest journey that I've done as I've been all over the country - Kent, Cornwall, East Anglia & Dorset to name a few!

Need to start thinking about where I can go next year ... somewhere I've not been so I'll need to look at the map! :)

You are so organised having all the presents bought and wrapped! :) - well done :T

Hi all. Went to comic con in Manchester at the weekend and can't stop smiling. Always thought it was for geeks or weirdos and do you know what - maybe it is but I felt so at home i must be a geek and a weirdo and I'm completely comfortable with that!! Amazing - didn't know what to expect and I'm going back it was superb. Everyone was gorgeous and lovely about asking for photos with them. It's them that made it. The ordinary folk who went to amazing lengths to dress up. So in home bargains this morning they had new selection of notepads and there was an a4 marvel one so I've bought each of the people I went with one for Xmas as a reminder of a fab weekend
They also had cake notebooks and I know a few baking fiends so got some to put away. Plus another 3 bags of coal. Although to be fair it is that miserable I might end up lighting the fire sooner than I think!!!

Love and hugs to all. Think it's 150 days to go to Xmas x

Hello all, and nice to see you again Kaya, Well l'm on the downhill now, l have packed all the stuff DDIL asked for, and sorted out my stuff, now l have to vacuum pack it all to save space and get it all in and the case shut. (easy-peasy, eh? not!) Now l have to sort out hand baggage, cant take a case as l cant manage 2 cases and a walking stick, so l think a Tesc* carrier bag, the 50p one, as it is big enough for all the on board !!!! l will need, and a change of clothes, for the overnight in Shanghai. l would never pass as high class would l? but hey ho, who cares?
l think we've got DDs finished too, before l go. Carpets today, beds tomorrow, quick tidy round and .........magic!
Freespirit, well done on the book win, and Feisty, how MSE is that? well traded!.
On the Christmas front, l have a list in my head of all the 'silk' items people have admired over the years and as they are so cheap out there l will buy a cuddy-load and add them to the stash for last minute and add-on presents. Off to hunt out a carrier bag and try to fit my stuff into it. xx

Would you not be better off with a small ruck sack? I always use one to carry on board, as it can always be worn on your back.

lazysheep I managed to catch some of Christmas in July and was feeling thoroughly festive! :D I wasn't tempted to buy what I did see but enjoyed watching it.

Peppapig hope your internet gets sorted soon otherwise we will miss you and your posts!

Kaya welcome back! Can I ask what you put in your December hampers? They sound great. I started a Christmas Eve hamper last year but am intrigued by one at the beginning of December. Your bread sounds yummy and a great gift, plus I LOVED those grow your own trees! That's why I love this thread, you always find out about stuff you didn't know was out there!

freespirit yay for winning the book! I remember wishing you luck for that! These things can take a long time to come through sometimes.

feisty yay for getting your Christmas shopping underway! Craft swapping sounds like such a good idea and really economical too. Unfortunately i'm not very crafty except for cross stitch.

3forholidays welcome back! Hope you had a lovely time. Living in Scotland you must be used to some looooooong journeys! We absolutely love Scotland to bits and have been a few times, but DH is reluctant to go such a long way with a baby. :( I personally think it's probably the best time to go!

Mojoworking glad to hear you had such a good time at Comic Con, these things can be surprising sometimes. I think most people think us Christmas nuts on here are geeky and weird so you're in good company! :p

mrsinvisible I bet you can't wait now you're all packed and ready to go! I was thinking the same as gettingtherequickly, can you use a lightweight backpack to keep your hands free?

linz4383 wow i'm amazed you are nearly done with your Christmas shopping with a baby and a wedding!! How was your wedding? I hope you had a really lovely day.

I went to stay overnight in London on Saturday as my friend and I were visiting another friend who lives there. I really missed Wiggle but it was lovely to relax and have dinner/drinks with some friends and get up when I wanted to! She lives in Blackheath which was lovely and we managed to also have a little picnic in Greenwich Park so it was a really enjoyable weekend. Not much going on today, I had a new mummy friend come round for a cup of tea this morning which was nice and great that I am meeting more people now others have gone back to work and she lives really close to me which is a bonus.

Just got some housework to do this afternoon, and after watching Christmas in July i'm feeling a bit more festive so want to go and check my Christmas spreadsheet! :D
