Freespirit glad your feeling better today. trouble with bargains is you need to get them when you see them and that's usually when you can least afford it but we've all done it. I'm looking forward to gbbo too
Peppapig sorry to hear about DH must have been a worrying few days fingers crossed he's home soon
alja welcome back sounds like you've got some great bargains so far
forgot to mention the other day home bargains had the pack of 4 mini milk bottles with stripy straws back in for £1.59this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
Evening my Christmassy friends!!!! It's been over a month since I last logged in and do I know it. I am so unorganised with Christmas items, although I sat and begun a list properly this morning so I do feel a little better. We are hosting this year also so after the Wedding I will need to get my A game on. I also have been getting a little spend happy and that needs pulling right back in so I need to make an effort to log on every day and use all the tools on here!!
I haven't read back yet, but I plan to sit and have a quick look through tonight when I manage to get 20mins after tea. I hope everyone is well and I won't be surprised if most of you have finished Christmas gift getting already
Free i've spotted you have got brownie mix at the ready for tomorrow with GBBO back, I can't wait and I might just need to get something sweet on hand too :P
Hugs and Cheerful wishes all roundChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Can I pick your brains? Is anyone doing themed wrapping this year?
Last year I did brown parcel take and red and gold ribbon. It was quite cheap and looked gorgeous, I'm tempted to do the same this year, but just wondering if anyone had anything else to tempt me lol[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

Evening everyone, my last day having Thumper for the week and i am shattered.com, he managed to get himself out of his nest today :rotfl:so i really need to have my wits about me, the little monkey is on the move! I keep seeing pictures of shops with christmas products on show on social media and i dont know where the heck they are, but it does amuse me, seeing peoples comments haha.
MANDCO yes it is so annoying isnt it, but it does save so much money when these offers appear, i dont feel so guilty nowi do love those mini milk bottles with stripy straws but where i am decluttering i cant bring myself to buy something else to fill the cupboards with, my DD1 keeps offering to buy me bits to put away for my birthday, but the first thing i think of is, is it going to just sit there and be more clutter so i have to say no thankyou
KAYA thankyou for that, i wish i had someone to buy it for
NEWTHRIFT how long have you got now until the wedding? How many are you hosting for? Wow you have got a busy time ahead
FEISTY for years i stuck to a red and white theme (very american) beautiful boxes from qvc and red and white paper with bows and ribbon i loved it, but i needed a change and last year i did gold and black and it was actually really stunning (looked expensive before you opened the present haha) i bought some gorgeous thick paper from M&S, this year its dark blue with white reindeers but its not pretty or stunning and the paper isnt that great (from studio) but i will keep it for this year#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -

A black and gold wrapping theme sounds gorgeous! It's got the cogs whirring now... I usually go for brown, red, white and green, but i bet your theme looks so opulent!
Also my friend works in Selfridges, and she sent me some photos of their Christmas shop which opened a couple of days ago! It's so exciting - I love it when the shops get all glitzy and sparkly0 -
KAYA yes it was gorgeous, and i was so lucky to pick up 2 bags of gold and black bows and ribbon in the sales as well, so as well as being stunning it was cheap
Have i seen your name in the GBBO Pot Luck? Who are you with? I have just logged on as i saw on Twitter that i am with Sandy so i am going to go have a nose! I hope i am not out in the first week

I've never really stuck to a theme when it comes to wrapping paper other than having 1 design for " the big guys gifts" which is usually red/white or red/gold other than that I just tend to buy whatever paper I like the look of at the time.
freespirit once they realise they can move there's no stopping them is there? xmas should be fun this yr
I forgot to sign up for the bake off pot luck
haven't seen any real xmas stock yet other than a few card pks in card factory but no doubt we'll start seeing it by the end of the month
in a effort to be a little more mse taz has a character tshirt he's outgrown which I'm thinking of making into a xmas stocking as the themed ones are so expensivethis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
I'm gutted, I didn't know anything about the GBBO pot luck so am not signed up for it. I'm going to watch it tonight though & will share my thoughts on who is my favourite. My 7 year old LOVES the show too so she will be watching it with me.
I've not done much towards Christmas planning for a few days. It's always in the back of my mind but I've just not had time this week. I've been reading this thread daily though on my lunch break and always love hearing peoples ideas. I don't tend to stick to a theme with wrapping paper. We usually buy one of the giant rolls from Costco to wrap all the big presents that we get for the kids. Then for our DD's we get a different wrapping paper for each of them so they know which pile is their own. Then for family we usually just use the giant roll from Costco because it is double sided, so my family get wrapped in one pattern and then it gets switched over for OH's family.0 -
Afternoon
I have read back a couple of pages so far, I will have another read to try and catch up a bit further soon.
So glad I have squeezed back on today, I think I'm finally beginning to get organised in my new routine.
Feisty – I am tempted again this year with the themed wrap. Brown paper with coloured ribbon always looks so beautiful. I did themed bags the other year which looked good (and handy for delivering too) Big hugs RE the bloods and testing! Congrats on the keys only a couple of days to go :j
Free – Exactly 38 days, not that I am on countdown or anything hahaStill feeling very calm and was even told by my butcher last week she thinks I’m the most relaxed Bride she has ever seen which was nice
I love the sound of black and gold wrapping, so glam!!
Peppa I am sending you big warming hugs for you and you DH! I hope he is on the mend!
I can't wait for GBBO tonight :j I got my finace in to it last year so thankfully he will watch it with me this time too, which is always a nice bonusI will be baking this weekend as we have a Christening on Sunday which I am making 24 cupcakes for and also my finace is 25 on Saturday so I need to get a birthday cake made too. Last year I did the Homer Simpson in a doughnut but I'm not sure what to do this time. I don't have quite so much time this year. He did say I didn't need to make a cake but hey, any excuse to get baking and i'm happy :rotfl:
Christmas dinner this year I am not sure how many there will be. At the maximum it shall be 12, but most likely 10, which I catered for 2 years ago so all should be fine. I am opting for beef though, I think, as I did Turkey before and it was lovely but I am not the biggest Turkey fan. Will decide closer too.
Well I have babbled on for a bit there:o
Hugs all round :beer:Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
