    Hello from the sunny north!

Sorry I literally have not been on this year; its been a bit of a blur. Wondered if I could sneak on for what's left of this year's prep?

Welcome back OMO and DomRavioli! (Can't do the waving smilie so can you imagine one please :D)

Fesity, sorry to hear you're still in hospital but glad you're posting again.

MrsI, I think it's amazing you manage to get on here at all with everything you have on your plate at the moment. Hope DD is ok.

Starlet, so glad you granddad has settled in so well - I agree with you, seeing people in that way really does make you realise just how fragile the everyday things we take for granted really are.

Free, hope you're feeling much better now. Is the appointment this week or have you been, I've lost track?

Yet again no Christmas prep here although am doing well with birthdays and getting good pressies at equally good prices. Have got DGD here this week as DD works now - having a great time and lots planned so keeping fingers crossed for decent weather. The early mornings are a bit rough but I was actually up at 4.45 this morning with sinus pain so beat DGD by an hour and a half lol. :rotfl:

mrsinvisible I'm guessing not great news for DD, but in a way as you say at least you know it isn't that and you can work through it. I hope you're all ok, it sounds like such an awful time for your DD at the moment. Yay for you buying an iron! And I hope your new car is ok.

OMO good to see you on here! I'm glad to hear all is well and everyone is ok. A trip to Disneyland Paris sounds like a fab idea and i'm sure will be a trip to remember. I can still see you owning a caravan one day, and you can be sure the kids will still want to go with you when you do! I hope we see you on here some more soon.

starlet so good to hear your grandad was smiling. My great-grandad had Alzheimer's and had to go into a home, it was heartbreaking seeing the difference in him but we spent a lot of time with him and was still able to enjoy his company even when he'd forgotten most things. He still had a great character. One funny thing happened when he was there, he was a very straight-laced, suit wearing, religious man, however one day the staff found him in bed with one of the other women at the home!! I don't think they were up to anything but my great-grandad would never have done such a thing before! :p I'm sure your holiday is much needed now, where are you going? I hope you have a fab time.

freespirit oh no IBS sounds horrible. :( I hope you are recovering now, as mrsinvisible says freeze the bread if you can. I'm guilty of eating unhealthy things because I don't want to waste them though! Fingers crossed for your DD's exam.

Peppapig ooh nasty sinus pain, I hope it's gone now. At least you had some time to get your faculties in order before DGD got up, hope you had fun in the end!

    Welcome back DomRavioli!

I'm getting back on track with my New Year's resolution and made a new recipe last night: Meatball and mozzarella traybake. It was nice and we did enjoy it, but it's probably not one we'd make again so I've whipped it out of the recipe folder to make way for another at some point.

Well DH and I have taken the plunge and booked a 2 night cruise to Guernsey on the P&O Ventura liner. I know lots of people do it, but DH and I couldn't face taking Wiggle on a plane to a resort we don't know. So we started talking about cruises as everything you need is in one place and you get to visit different places too. I've read good and bad things about taking a baby on board so we thought the only way we'd really know what it is like is to go ourselves. At least with only two nights if it is awful we're not on there long. They are set up for babies, they have a baby play area, a night nursery (which we probably won't use) and they provide things such as cot, bottle warmer and steriliser and baby food. I genuinely think the biggest challenge will be sharing a cabin with him as he goes to bed around 6:30pm, but hopefully if the weather is nice (we're going in August) we can sit on the balcony. Although one night we're going to nip out separately; me for a little spa treatment as we've go some money pre-loaded onto a card as part of the deal, and DH to visit the casino. He's not a big gambler or anything but likes a little flutter since we went to Las Vegas as part of our honeymoon! :p We shall see, i'm hoping it will be good for us!

Where has this past week gone?? Enjoyed the bank holiday weekend although I wish it had been warmer with us. Was dry but cool. Had a couple of friends over on the Sunday and I made a beef dinner and we had a triple choc brownie pudding (it was from M&S and I would recommend was so nice :D )
We drank some wine, played twister and also that game where you write a famous person on a sticky note and put on each others head and you have to guess who you are. Was such a laugh and cost next to nothing which was good. Need to catch up on some washing and ironing but that will always wait :p

Msgigglewick – I can’t believe xmas in July will soon be here!!

Free – at least you had 7 hours of moneysaving ;)

Starlet – Congratulations on passing your driving test, just relax! Sorry to hear about your granddad.

Princesskitty – That cake looks amazing!!! The cruise sounds lovely, enjoy it. I always think they look amazing but I get sea sick and don’t think I could face going, which is a shame as they are a hotel on water!!!!!

Opee – ooo not good, he must now sit on the floor!! YES I love when the choccies come out early (although I’m meant to be being good :P )

Oh Feisty you are not having a good time of it bless you, feel better soon.

Mojo – not nice when people lie.

OMO – although things are busy glad to hear all is well with you. Disneyland is amazing!! If I’m lucky enough to have children I hope to take them one day.

    Big hugs all round xx

    Hi all :)

Massive hugs to all who need them, and thank you so much for the warm welcome!

First day at new job tomorrow...bricking it a little bit! I've pulled out my christmas box of bits I've picked up over the last couple of weeks, and there's a fair bit there. I need to make a list.
Going to check out the first page links when I get back tomorrow.

Princess Kitty, the cruise sounds ideal for you with Wiggle - I didn't realise you could do a short cruise but it's a great idea. Bet you'll have a lovely time.
