Mandco, so saddened to hear your awful news, be kind to yourself, won't you?
You all seem to be getting on with the organising and bargainiciousness, MSE rules, yeay. I wrote all the rest of my 'standard cards on Saturday, with a snowflake tree decoration in each, this year. (Iusually put a small item in the cards for the people l don't buy presents for) then they at least know l think about them.)
Normally l wrap presents as l get them and then do the fancy bits in December so they don't look 'tired' but this year l haven't done that, so the marathon wrapping is starting this week! I have finished another baby cardi except for the sewing on of buttons, (everyone knows that that is the bit l don't like) and made a pair of ladybird bootees for DGN Ella, wish l could do pictures as they are really cute.
l am decorating the vestibule for Halloween over the next couple of days and have a friend coming tonight to have her second learn to crochet lesson, so l may crochet some cobwebs for effect.
Taking DD shopping this morning, then visit DSIL and big bro this afternoon as they have both their grandnibs for the day, and l rarely see the elder one now that he is in full time school, so a fairly busy one today. This has been a bit of a rough week and a half, as it is the anniversary of both my dad and my lovely husbands death, hence the need to keep busy.
DGS cut the grass yesterday watched by 2 girls who he insists are just friends who happen to be girls, but l know better!!! one of them keeps asking me if he is staying with me and then keeps knocking for him. She is a lovely little thing, and yesterday after the grass cutting she and her friend 'helped' him to wash the dishes and mop the kitchen floor! (hey l am not looking this gift horse in the mouth.....wonder what they are like with paint brushes?)
    Off shopping, back later. xx

    Morning :D
Had an absolute nightmare getting into work today because of the torrential rain! It does make me feel Christmassy though, probably the only weirdo thinking that...
Peppa those reindeers look brilliant, I may try something similar since we've had 2 trees cut down and the OH insists upon keeping the wood (had good intentions of making flower pots, tablemats, etc) so now I'll suggest this instead :)
Free there really is a HP movie channel it's brilliant!!! Also I have heard through the Christmassy grapevine that the Blissmas music channel is going live on Sunday :D:D:D so that will be on 24/7 whilst we're not watching any Christmas films
Also the OH informed me this morning that he's going to go full-on Christmas crazy with me this year, he usually accepts me turning into a child for 2 months and he does like Christmas himself too, but apparently he may even stay in with me on Christmas eve to watch Polar Express instead of going to the pub...that's a big deal for him!
04624181 I totally agree, I hate being cold but love the cold weather so I end up looking like a bit of an eskimo lol the Blackpool illuminations sound brilliant I can't wait to see all the Christmas lights go up everywhere, not long now :)
We've got a really busy day on Sunday and OH said we may not have time to watch a Christmas film :O:O I basically said no way, I'll stay up past my usual 10.30 bedtime to watch one!!!
    I'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:

Apologies that I haven't yet read most recent posts (will have a proper read later) but I'm so cross I had to share it with people I know will understand. I ordered three personalised duvet cover sets back in the summer from Studio. One arrived about a month later and I had an email to say the other two would be coming at the beginning of October which was ok. Then I had another email to say they'd be here mid November which was still ok. Now I've had an email to say they'll be here on 11th December. This is not ok!!! I ordered them for the Elf on the Shelf to bring on 1st December! I've messaged them asking to cancel although I anticipate a battle as they're personalised but as it stands I now have one set out of three - how can I give a set to one of the littlies and not the other two? To be honest the set I have isn't great - the cover is ok but the personalisation is quite small and only on one side of the pillowcase, not on the cover at all. I think I'll try and get unpersonalised sets from somewhere else for the other two - any ideas on how I can put their names on? Sorry for the rant but feel a bit better now I've got it off my chest lol x

Morning all, I know the weather is a bit damp and miserable but we all snug in the house with the heating on and its making me think of christmas x

eliiew8-There is ALWAYS time for a christmas movie lol :D fab news that the husband will be joining you with the christmas crazy this year. My husband has taken years o come around to my way of thinking but has finally accepted it and regularly pretends he is joining in for the kids but he secretly loves it!
MrsInvisible-Thinking of you this week with your anniversaries. It must be hard for you but it sounds like you have alot of family and friends around you to help you through and keep you busy. ( and of course us lot on here)
Feistyfidget- Mince pie sounds lovely, I am trying so hard to get some weight off ( was at slimmimng world and lost 3 and half stone, have now put a stone and a half back on!) but am counting down the weeks until I can have a christmas treat of a mince pie x
Mrs-moneypenny-your crossstitch sounds lovely, do you have any pics please?

Well we are at a stand still today. I have bought the stuffing to restuff my very large sofa seat cushions, bought new cushions for the back of the sofa too. Its going to be lovely and have gone brown and orange this year. Need to give the living room and fresh lick of paint though so really dont want to put out the new bits until that is done. My kitchen needs a repaint too and a deep clean. But with the kids being off it is not going to happen.
Really itching to sort the christmas gifts out but kids are too nosey lol xx Ah well suppose I better get dressed and start some ironing. Got a huge pan of chicken broth on for my lunch. Trying to be good but lacking willpower on the diet front!

Asda have some lovely festive duvet sets. It's easy to embroider a name onto a pillowcase yourself, or take it to one of those places that put name on football shirts. Or ask around your friends/family to see if anyone can do it. Even dry cleaners may be able to help.
Boo to studio for messing you around. :p

Peppa pig boo to studio for messing you around and not delivering the goods. You can get felt pens to write on fabric that you make permanent by ironing over what you write or has others have said embroidery?

04624181 thank you for the kind comment about my cross stitch I've posted a photo of it on the elfilicious pinboard we us for Christmas ideas on this thread, I hope no one else minds. The link for the board is on the first page of this thread.

peppapig- that is totally unprofessional of studio as they have had months to get your order to you. Please complain to them and see if they can resolve it for you. Totally understand if you do not want to as I would be very fed up with their service. On our local market they have a stall that prints onto jumpers and a different stall that embroiders onto tshirts etc. have you anything like that near you? or iron letters from ebay or somebthing like this :-

If you have a steady hand and are any good with creative writing, you could do them yourself with fabric paints.

Peppapig - Those reindeer are adorable! Sorry about your Studio order though. Sounds like you need to have a good long moan at them!

Had my cryotherapy again yesterday. The doctor asked me if I wanted both hands doing but I quickly declined! :rotfl: I need at least one hand free to use! Happily though my left hand doesn't seem to have reacted as badly as my right (touch wood!) did. The right one swelled up and had mahoosive blisters.

Finished my assignment this morning. Quite a relief because it's due in tomorrow. :D

Finally gave my mum my christmas list. She's only been asking for it for weeks! :rotfl:

Hope you're all as well as can be. xx
