  • Evening everyone, i had to pull out all of thumpers birthday presents today so moved the christmas presents around a bit, wrapped DS PJs, and boxed them and DD1s PJs up. Put all DD1s Body Shop bits together in a box and then in a bag! Then ordered the last bits for their stockings off of amazon this afternoon, a Walking Dead t shirt for DD1 and a mug with TBBT song lyrics and some TBBT socks for DS so that is them finished just need to wrap all the goodies up and put in actual stockings. I also ordered all the fizzy pop for christmas in my shop so i dont have to carry it all, so another few things crossed off the lists today!

KAYA oh how annoying the seller not being completely truthful about the books condition

IRISHROSE fab idea for the teachers pressies!

MRSRYAN oh sorry it is stressing you out so much, never mind like you say you are nearly there now!

MRSMONEYPENNY oh i hope they dont sell out of christmas scratchcards around here, but then again it isnt the end of the world if they are just normal ones :D

04624181 i hope your appointment went well today

MONEYMISSION oh its so easy to get the dates and days mixed up i do it all the time, glad you got your assignment done in time although in a bit of a rush!

CHERRY i am not even thinking about it :rotfl::rotfl:i am trying to get foodie bits tagged onto the normal weekly shop because i know it will be tight but also downshifting from last year, its obscene really the amount we have in :o

MRSHONEYBADGER oh my lovely what an emotional week this has been for you, please dont feel guilty there is absolutely no reason to, i hope you get your results asap

MSGIGGLEWICK sorry you have had an upset with someone stealing your designs, i really felt for you yesterday after reading on FB, they should be ashamed of themselves!

MCCULLOCH oh how fab for you, you must have been really chuffed to get those to review

CHRISSY ooh well done! Oh i am so jealous i bought another steam mop/handheld earlier this year used it twice and nothing, no steam at all, this is the second one now i have bought in the last few years that has broke down after only a couple of uses

Morning! Not much to report Christmassy, a little bit of wrapping done but that's it. Problem is I have no where to store stuff out of the way once they are wrapped, and I hate the thought of the paper getting torn etc if I have to keep shifting them out of the way.

Fiesty- hope you feel better soon x
Peppa- those reindeer are lovely- you should feel chuffed!
IrishRose- OD should be ashamed of themselves, too muc too soon I think for them. They are nothing without their fan base- they would do well to remember that.
MrsHoneyBadger- hope you get your results and that everything is clear x
ellie8- cars are brilliant when they are running well but they always chose the wrong times (if there is such a thing as a good time0 to have issues. Ive been to the park in mine today (cus it is p***ing it down here!) and Im sure I can hear my brakes squealing a bit.

OH has now been told that he is being made redundant at the end of November rather than December as originally discussed, so hes a bit stressed at the mo, which spills over into the rest of the house. Luckily his new boss has said that he can start as soon as he likes, but OH is the kind who likes everything parcelled up and done in a particular order (read for that he is a complete pain in the b*m with OCD at times!).

Well- hope everyone is enjoying their weather- its not Christmassy its just YUK here!
    lovin' this site!

    Hi everyone.

Well payday I'd finally here. Not that it's going to last long. Dd 2's birthday next week. Pressies are bought but need to pay for her party sunday, just got stung for £200 for dd1's school trip next year, £90 payment due for our hold a at easter next year and money needed to pay for both dd's dancing show. Phew, but will feel much better once everything is paid. Luckily everything barring the school trip was budgeted for. Thank god for my Christmas savings.

I'm going to now finish all of my presents in the next week apart from hubby's and sisters as the can't decide what they want. Hubby doesn't really want a stocking, he's not really into all the little bits and bobs so I'm going to order him some new after shave instead. Already got his christmas patterned boxers and socks.

Last thing to do will be to order my meat from the butcher at the weekend and buy the family cards from card factory. Busy weekend ahead xx

Apologies that I haven't yet read most recent posts (will have a proper read later) but I'm so cross I had to share it with people I know will understand. I ordered three personalised duvet cover sets back in the summer from Studio. One arrived about a month later and I had an email to say the other two would be coming at the beginning of October which was ok. Then I had another email to say they'd be here mid November which was still ok. Now I've had an email to say they'll be here on 11th December. This is not ok!!! I ordered them for the Elf on the Shelf to bring on 1st December! I've messaged them asking to cancel although I anticipate a battle as they're personalised but as it stands I now have one set out of three - how can I give a set to one of the littlies and not the other two? To be honest the set I have isn't great - the cover is ok but the personalisation is quite small and only on one side of the pillowcase, not on the cover at all. I think I'll try and get unpersonalised sets from somewhere else for the other two - any ideas on how I can put their names on? Sorry for the rant but feel a bit better now I've got it off my chest lol x

That is awful! I'd definitely cancel the order and buy the non-personalised ones. A few of us could whip you up some iron on vinyl no problem :)
Thank you, I started stitching in sept, I try and do about an hour a day. It's for our first grandchild I've told the children that any future grandchildren can't be born after August if I'm to carry on with this tradition. But I could start the stockings and just add the name if it came to it. I chose this design as dd is vegan and loves her animals so I thought it was apt. I'm planning to line it to make it more durable as the kit just has a felt backing so the back of the stitching would all be on show inside the stocking and possibly get snagged so wouldn't last as long.

Wow, that is beautiful and it will be a treasured keepsake for years to come!

Feisty - here it is :)

One of my brother's birthday presents arrived from eBay today - a copy of Animal Farm. I have to say, I'm not massively impressed with the quality, and the 'good' description is a bit of a stretch...

Otherwise, I had some other Christmas deliveries today, with more things ordered! I'm quite pleased with my little stash so far. Just need some more inspiration!

Thank you for the link, off for a read :)
You all seem to be cracking on with your Christmas buying!!
Hectic week this week. Kids are off doing dance festivals and rugby camps, I had an emergancy bone scan (panicking everytime the phone rings, expecting bad news) on Tuesday and today is my 5 year cancerversary, going through all the emotions, I know I am lucky to be here, but feel guilty too. Will be happier once today is over.
Christmas wise I have got a few parcels, got more ideas for the kids and ordered a new tree and decorations for the kitchen. Going for a peacock /blue/gold theme. Found some cards I forgot I bought last year and also also some gifts I lost last year...

I hope you got your results and all was good x

MsGigglewick I must have missed your post on facebook about copyright theft! You poor thing :( I once had someone directly copy my 'friends are like stars' design. She changed the wording in the middle, but the outer heart (which has a curved tail point and quite unique) and hanging stars were actually lifted from my cut :( I was fuming and all for messaging her politely asking where she had gotten the inspiration for her design etc but the Mr said to leave it as ultimately all it would do was upset me.

I'm feeling 90% back to health, however I've had two late nights and meals out since Wednesday and I'm feeling a bit over indulged and extra tired! I hope to be back to normal by Sunday :)

I had my 28 week growth scan yesterday (technically not 28 weeks until Monday) and they are happy to let junior carry on cooking for at least another 4 weeks before my next scan :)

Does anyone know of a place I can use my love to shop vouchers to buy £10 amazon vouchers? I have looked online and I can't find anywhere :( I'm hoping that it's just that you can't buy them from the individual shops websites, otherwise I'm in a spot of bother for Christmas shopping

  • Morning lovely Christmassy people :rudolf::xmassmile:xmastree::xmassign:

    Can I join in?

I absolutely love Christmas too. I'm in need of some inspiration this year though as I'm not that organised and money is very tight :(

I don't have a massive family, 2 children and 2 granddaughters. My brother and his family live abroad and we seen them in the summer so just a lovely M**npig card with some family photos is usually sent to them. I have my mum and dad also!

My son's birthday is Christmas Eve which is always good fun! :T Since he was little we have always done pass the parcel on Christmas Day with the family, we still do it now and he is 19!

OK, off to work, its very grey and damp here! Let it snow!!!! please.

    Pix
    xx

    Morning...only 8 weeks to go now :)
04624181 hope it went ok at the clinic yesterday, and yeah just a tad inconvenient! Plus the weather isn't great so walking isn't so fun lol
Money I agree about getting Halloween and bonfire night out of the way, I do quite enjoy them both but there's no comparison to Christmas!
MrsHoneyBadger will keep fingers crossed for you...
Cherry I don't even have a budget anymore lol the OH and I have a strict £50 budget for each other but we're going slightly overboard with everyone else, especially as our parents are being very generous with our wedding.
Free you don't sound smug at all - I'm thinking of you as my inspiration to be more organised :) I only got pinterest recently for bridal hair ideas, I'll have to widen the search to hot chocolate station! Oh I'm not keen on artificial grass at all to be honest but I feel like we're letting down our little 10-house road by not making the front garden nice!
Murie better get those brakes checked then! 2 years ago I broke down on Christmas day at a petrol station and luckily some good Samaritans helped me get it going again. It was horrible (and raining obviously!) but made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside that someone took time out of their Christmas day to help me :D
Welcome Pixie, everyone here is lovely and "slightly" Christmas crazy so sure you'll fit right in!
    I'm dreaming... of a white Christmas :snow_grin :xmassmile:rudolf:
  • Cherry - I'm starting to get to the same point as you. I still have quite a bit to get but budget is dwindling. Payday today though & then end of November is my last payday before Christmas, so I'll budget a bit more out of these 2 paydays. I don't count December payday at all because that's my January money, lots of people I work with ask if we're getting paid the day before Christmas Eve like we did last year, but when I say the it hasn't been decided yet they get into a panic because they say they'll be left short for Christmas.

Hi Pixie FD, we're all crazy about Christmas and you'll fit in well here. You'll get loads of ideas on here. Is there anybody in particular you need ideas for? Usually if somebody comes on here & give a few details (just relation to you and maybe age, in case it's a child) about who they're buying for, everybody comes up with a few suggestions.

Feisty - good news that your scan has gone well. Regarding the vouchers, have you tried WHSmith or HMV? I don't know where sells amazon vouchers but thought these might be a good start. Or how about Argos, Superdrug, Waterstones or Debenhams?

Thanks Free, I managed to get it finished with only a few minutes to spare but at least it's in! I feel more relaxed today though than I have done all week so it was obviously playing on my mind more than I realised, so it's a good thing it was yesterday rather than today really, at least I get to enjoy today now as I've got the day off with my daughters before they go back to school next week.

Chrissy - do you mind me asking which one you bought? I've had steamers in the past but wasn't very impressed with them but my oven could really do with a deep clean plus I'd like to use one on my bathroom tiles etc as I think they could do with it.
