Thank you, I started stitching in sept, I try and do about an hour a day. It's for our first grandchild I've told the children that any future grandchildren can't be born after August if I'm to carry on with this tradition. But I could start the stockings and just add the name if it came to it. I chose this design as dd is vegan and loves her animals so I thought it was apt. I'm planning to line it to make it more durable as the kit just has a felt backing so the back of the stitching would all be on show inside the stocking and possibly get snagged so wouldn't last as long.

Wow PeppaPig - Love the reindeers. They are much bigger than I imagined. Me and my sister have both had problems with Studio in the past that have put us off ordering again.
Nic - That's great news regarding the bike. I don't know much about them since I'm 31 and can't ride a bike! But I'm sure she'll grow into it.
04624181 - That's rubbish regarding the car - it always seem to happen near Christmas or when you're on a budget.
Feisty - Sorry about your cold :( The mince pie sounds lovely though :)
mrsinvisible - Haha, sounds like you've got a couple of Christmas elves to help do any chores around the house :)

Bought quite a few presents today and Playmobil advent for nephews. Bit of drama with OH's family and people stopping buying for eachother and some of them not liking it. Nevermind, I'm sure everyone will get over it eventually.
  • mandco I am so, so sorry to hear about your sad loss, that must have been a terrible shock for you. I'm sending you lots of hugs and strength. Please take care of yourself. xx

Peppapig glad to hear ELC refunded the £5. Your reindeer's are fab! I wouldn't know where to start!

3forholidays thanks for finding the M&S code, unfortunately it wouldn't work for me. :(

fiesty For the homemade food gifts how about sweet and spicy nuts (I made a yummy Jamie Oliver recipe last year) and chilli jam? Good with cold meats! You poor thing you must be really suffering having a cold whilst pregnant, it's not fun! Try to make sure you get as much rest as you can (I know this can be difficult!) and look after yourself.

ellie I hope you've managed to get your car sorted?!

    Ruth_honey I hope you're feeling better soon.

Nic I'm so glad you managed to find a bike, DD will love it!

mrsinvisible You make me laugh! You can send your little helpers round here when they've done yours! :p

Hello and welcome tatabubbly! Whereabouts in the world are you?

Thanks for the Trisha Ashley Christmas Cracker recommendation (can't remember who mentioned it now), i've just looked it up and realised I can order it with my food shop so i've added it to my basket - lets see if it arrives!

I'm going to sound really sad now but i'm feeling a bit lonely tonight, DH is away on business. I know it's silly, i've only got one night on my own as my mum is coming to stay tomorrow but I just feel a bit on edge tonight. I think it's because it's the first night i've been on my own since having Wiggle.

Well I went ahead and bought the Bourbon biscuit tin from Waitrose for £10, with so long until Christmas I can see me seeing it on special offer at some point but I just wanted to tick it off my list! I also bought all my Christmas scratchcards, I like to put them in the Christmas cards for my family. I was really pleased to find a pack of 2 Mickey Mouse Christmas pyjamas for Wiggle from Asda for £6, I wanted a pair for him to wear from the beginning of December and a pair for the Christmas Eve hamper so I was really pleased. :T

For the first time i've bought some Halloween decorations this year so i've been putting them up. We were on holiday over Halloween last year so we'll have to see how Wiggle gets on with all the bangs on the door after he's gone to bed! We live on a large estate with lots of children so it gets quite busy. Once Halloween is over i'm going to indulge in some Christmas films and music and start wrapping presents!

Thank you for this, I've just added it to my shopping to help meet the threshold spend :p

I always get lonely when DH is away for the night and we don't have any children. Be kind to yourself :)

Princesskitty29- You do not sound really sad, that is exactly how I will feel when my husband goes away in just over a week. It's more strange for yourself as you haven't been on your own without wiggle yet but stick to your normal routine then maybe have a hot bubble bath with a glass of wine of cup of tea and your new book x I really love the Christmas scratch cards, will get them for a the place settings at the table. I always do a little surprise bag of goodies for everyone as a place setting.
Cherry24-its always the way with cars isn't it. Ah well, it has to be fixed as I rely heavily on using it due to my bad back/leg.

Thanks for the nice comments about the reindeer everyone. For anyone who wants to have a go this is the video I watched to see how they were put together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=byISZOsN6Tc If the link doesn't work the video is Christmas Reindeer construction speeded. Ours are a bit different because we didn’t have equal sized legs so basically we drilled holes a bit smaller than the diameter of the relevant branches/twigs and then whittled the ends to fit and bashed them in with a rubber mallet. We also didn't have all the equipment he has but it gives you the general idea.

Kaya, glad you’re settling into the new job now. How exciting about the blog collaboration too.

Hope you’re feeling better Ruth-honey and yes, I’ve watched a couple of films. I think I’ve probably already seen most ofthem though lol. Thank you for the headsup about the Asda festive quilt cover sets, will have a look and can hopefully do a click and collect for them.

Well done on getting the bike Nic, I bet she’ll be thrilled. I had to buy the ‘teenage’ sized bike because it was the only one with 26” wheels where the adult ones all seem to be 28” and they just feel too big for me as I’m only 5 feet nothing.

04624181 your present buying is going really well. I’ve still got a few to get but I do at least know what I’m buying for most of them, just my BIL, DH, my mum and a couple of littlies still awaiting inspiration at the mo.

Feisty I do hope you’re soon feeling better. It’s horrible when all you really want to do is to crawl into bed and you have to keep going.

MrsI that’s a lovely idea to put a small token in the Christmas cards and you did make me laugh about DS’s girl friends. This must have been such a painful time for you – you must miss your husband very much and I do admire the way you’ve put things in place to help you cope.

Thanks MrsM for the tip about the felt pens to write on fabric – that would be great if I can find them. 04624181 that link is really helpful – I think either that or the felt pens will be the way to go. Springdreams I have a feeling my neatness with fabric paint might leave a bit to be desired lol but thank you for the thought.

Clumsy your cryotherapy sounds horrible, not surprised you weren’t keen to have both handsdone at once.

PrincessKitty, is £2 the cheapest for Christmas scratch-cards? I thought I paid £1 last year but have only seen £2 and above so far this year – mind you I’m probably remembering it wrong. If you’re feeling a bit lonely could you maybe pamper yourself a bit (toe nail painting or something) or watch something on tv that you wouldn’t watch if DH was there? It’s not silly at all to feel a bit vulnerable when you’re not used to being alone overnight but you do get used to it – actually you can get to prefer it lol.

Hoping to get an early night tonight as DGD wakes up a fair bit earlier than I usually do so I do find the early starts a bit of a shock. Trouble is I tend to perk up at bedtime so end up staying up later in the hope I’ll feel tired lol.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
  • Evening everyone, i spent this afternoon looking for christmas planner inspiration for next year haha, as i am not sure how much room will be left in my current one, i have also done an advent activities timetable for us adults just for a bit of fun and i started my coffee/hot chocolate station which started with a good clean in that section of the kitchen :D

04624181 the christmas mag i am reading atm is the Good Homes Ultimate Christmas Magazine and i am enjoying it atm, why do things always break down right on christmas??? I have had it happen to me many a time!

MRSMONEYPENNY oh i had a look at your christmas stocking it is lovely, i bet you are relieved to have finished the stitching in good time!

FEISTY hope you feel better soon!

MRSINVISIBLE haha i bet you teased your DGS mercilessly about the girls!!:rotfl:Your day sounds busy but lovely! Sending hugs to you regarding your anniversaries this week!

ELLIE oh will have to tell DS that about the HP channel! Aw that is very sweet of your OH about spending time with you on christmas eve :)

PEPPAPIG oh how blooming annoying i would have a right old go at them, its your prerogative to cancel even if they are personalised after all the delays you have had to put up with! I remember you were so excited ordering them as well!

CLUMSY oh you poor thing having to deal with the after effects of your treatment it sounds so painful! Well done on finishing your assignment!

PRINCESSKITTY ooh i never thought of putting it on my online shop order, thankyou! I have a voucher for £6 off this week so will be money neutral. Hope you have managed to have a nice evening despite being a little apprehensive

    Sixth Anniversary
Feisty - here it is :)

One of my brother's birthday presents arrived from eBay today - a copy of Animal Farm. I have to say, I'm not massively impressed with the quality, and the 'good' description is a bit of a stretch...

Otherwise, I had some other Christmas deliveries today, with more things ordered! I'm quite pleased with my little stash so far. Just need some more inspiration!

Evening everyone :) I'm sitting here trying to stay awake till midnight so I can order the new TSV on QVC for Christmas presents:o

Loving the Reindeer up at the top here! Very impressive!:T

We had a chill out day here today, but yesterday was productful. Had the 2 eldest down at the shops with me yesterday and called into B&M. DD found these http://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/xmas-mirror-plaque-292915 for £2 and asked could she get her teacher one for Christmas. Then had the brainwave that one of my neighbours does glass engraving so thought I could get the teacher's name, year and kids name engraved on. Suggested this to DS as he has a female teacher this year and he agreed so bought them 1 each............ then added one of each design (there were 4) for our own house :rotfl:
We also got one for the assistant in their class too.
Was both delighted that we got them sorted very easily and impressed that DD had the thought want it:rotfl: Have told my friend I want the wee survival kits for each of them too, so teacher and assistant pressies sorted for under £5:T Will buy them another small thing from Boots just to make it look something.

Bought a Molton Brown travel set for someone a while back and I found out this morning she doesn't use it anymore, so now need to try and sell that on, as I'm out of time to return it:mad:
Anyone who knows someone looking a gift for someone I've a MB set in a lovely gift box for £20 if they want it:rotfl:
Will see about putting it on Ebay over the weekend.

Am now off to make myself a cup of tea and something light to eat as I'm hungry. The next 25mins need to hurry up and go in fast:rotfl:
