Very slightly changed is more accurate.

There is no such thing as an "otterman".0 -

New versionEverything for £1 was the idea of our founders in 1990 and we’re still true to that great vision today. We work hard to bring you amazing value products every day with over half being sourced from the UK.Everything for £1 was the idea of our founders in 1990 and we’ve grown to become the largest single price value retailer in the UK, with thousands of great products all at £1 across over 500 stores… and sometimes we offer special promotions* at other prices. We work hard to bring you amazing value products every day with over two-thirds being
sourced from the UK.
Differences between the two?
1/ No longer stating that everything is £1.
2/ Now stating that they also have special offers at other prices.
3/ UK sourced products risen from "over half" to "over two-thirds".
4/ Now stating that they are the largest single price retailer in the UK. (but how they can state that when they also offer other items at "other prices" is beyond me)
5/ Further down the page the large text has been changed from "The same amazing price from 1990" to "Amazing value every day since 1990"
The only thing that hasn't changed is the statement about their founders deciding on the £1 price in 1990.
Personally, I would say that the changes are significant rather than very slight.0 -

But 99.99% is. It's clear that it's only the one off special offers that are over £1 so hardly significant!
The others:George_Michael wrote: »2/ Now stating that they also have special offers at other prices. Obviously!
3/ UK sourced products risen from "over half" to "over two-thirds". Hardly a problem?
4/ Now stating that they are the largest single price retailer in the UK. (but how they can state that when they also offer other items at "other prices" is beyond me) As I said 99.99 % of their items are and they must have a large range so their claim is perfectly correct.
5/ Further down the page the large text has been changed from "The same amazing price from 1990" to "Amazing value every day since 1990" They've changed their business model to allow for special offers, is this a crime?
To sum up. They now have a special offer & source more goods from the UK. Two changes so hardly a significant change.0 -
I stated that the content of Poundland's 'Our Values' page changed, not their business model.Money-Saving-King wrote: »To sum up. They now have a special offer & source more goods from the UK. Two changes so hardly a significant change.
If you read back through the thread you'll see that the 'Our Values' page is what was causing people a lot of upset. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Or the Otterman of Alaska
I'm still correct as those are fictional characters. (Well one is, the other, presumably, is just a nutter)
Do you store your towels in a fictional character? Do you?0 -
Well, the ASA made a ruling on Poundland. Anyone who is bored enough to want to read the report in detail can find it here:
http://asa.org.uk/Rulings/Adjudications/2015/3/Poundland-Ltd/SHP_ADJ_284400.aspx#.VPisNV087JA
If you search for Poundland on Google News, you can see that the ruling has had quite a lot of media coverage. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.
